Ryu's objective of being the "true martial artist" is not driven by fame or fortune. So naturally, he had no interest in the money prize of this tournament, or the filth behind it.

However, as much as the "Satsui no Hado" lay dormant deep inside of him, it shook his being.

He senses the spirit of a strong opponent he cannot yet see, who wishes to test his strength. "I want to meet someone stronger... So I can see what lies beyond my fists!"
