SenBasa chara Mitsuhide.png

Mitsuhide Akechi (Reaper in Devil Kings) is a vassal of Nobunaga Oda's army, possessing skill on the level of his other generals as well as Nobunaga himself. However, his role as vassal allows him ownership of his own land, as shown by the in-game map. While Mitsuhide is considered one of Nobunaga's most loyal soldiers, evidenced by the trust Nobunaga has in him, Mitsuhide uses the strength of his own army to betray Nobunaga, attempting to unify Japan himself. Mitsuhide's unpredictability and self-interest is unmatched even by Nobunaga and his generals, making Mitsuhide a dangerous foe within the strategic battle to unify the country.

Mitsuhide is capable of attacking his own soldiers and even absorbing their health with his second skill, though he doesn't actually do damage to them. This is in line with his carelessly sadistic nature, though his soldiers continue to follow him anyway. He also has high health and decent strength, though this is balanced by his very slow movement speed. Even Mitsuhide's normal attacks and Basara attack are slow, giving bosses a great opportunity to dodge out of his reach. To make matters worse, Mitsuhide's normal combo ends with a laugh that leaves him vulnerable to the attacks of enemies who are not willing to wait for him. This great disadvantage in speed can be offset by his skills, particularly his first, which gives him great reach for crowds and quick bosses. His fifth skill is also helpful in that it gives him armor, allowing him to move in close to enemies and attack without feeling the effect of combo interruption.

Ultimately, good weapon and accessory selection will aid in the use of Mitsuhide. Strong weapons are a must, especially on high difficulties. The final accessory set (which allows unlimited Basara attacks once the Basara gauge is filled) may also be a worthy consideration if leveling/farming for weapons on Extreme becomes too frustrating. As far as combos go, a Square button-string of three followed by the first or fifth Triangle button skill may be helpful; be sure to cancel out of his normal combo to avoid the laugh that concludes it. His third skill may also be useful in preceding normal combos, especially against weaker enemies.
