Geeza introduces two new enemies, but not much more in the way of challenge compared to Moot. You will meet the reptilian Skeggs (exclusive to this stage) who fly and sometimes bounce through the air, and the eerie face statues known as Ida. More bushes and trees dot the surface, but near the end of the stage, you will encounter indestructible pillars which you must dodge at all costs.

  • Four Skeggs will fly from the upper right background into the foreground and then make their way back to the right. Four more Skeggs will appear shortly after from the upper left background and travel in the opposite direction. Three Idas that travel along the ground during this encounter.
  • Six Ida will travel along the ground from the distance in a line. When they get about half-way to you, they will rise up to the sky. Simply stay in the center and shoot to destroy them.
  • Six Skeggs will fly off in the distance from the upper left to the upper right, and then begin approaching, while bouncing off the ground as they cross to the left. A few Ida will appear along the ground as well.
  • Two Ida will appear in the distance, and begin rotating around the center of the screen as they shoot fireballs at you and slowly approach. Two more Ida will join them to make a set of four rotating around a middle. They will eventually retreat if you do not destroy them first. At this time, you will begin to see pillars.

  • Six Ida will travel forward from the distance. As before, they rise up when they reach half-way to you. However, other Ida will simply appear on the ground and continue moving towards you.

Boss: Ida[edit]

Space Harrier Stage 2 boss.png

This boss is known as Ida due to the collection of Ida statues he has orbiting around him throughout the battle. It reach a certain distance from you and stops, and shoots a continuous stream of fireballs at you. As the Ida statues orbit around, many will be destroyed in your attempts to shoot the boss, but the fact is that it only takes one good shot through the middle to destroy the boss. Once you do, any remaining Ida statues will begin to approach you until they have gone past you and behind the camera. You must continue to shoot them to avoid getting crushed by them as they pass.
