Map of Dreshdae

Star Map: Korriban[edit]

Ebon Hawk[edit]

You disembark from the Ebon Hawk on the north side of the starport on the west side of Dreshdae. A mechanic patrols the perimeter, checking computer panels. You can ask him some questions about Korriban and why the Sith think it's special, and if he's ever heard of a Star Map:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mechanic: Nice to see the Hawk's still in one piece. Beauty of a ship, that. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mechanic: Still around the starport, I see. Heading off, soon?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Who are you?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mechanic: Oh, nobody special. I just do the routine maintenance work for the ships that come in. I used to see the Hawk here all the time.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. How do you know about the Ebon Hawk?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mechanic: Oh, I've seen this little ship before plenty of times. Used to make runs for the Exchange, didn't it? Korriban's nice and remote, the kind of place the Exchange likes.
KotOR Icon Mission.png Mission: I knew we'd run into some of Davik's old associates sooner or later. No matter where you go somebody's working for the Exchange!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mechanic: You don't need to worry about me saying anything. I don't give a whit what you do with your ship. Smuggling's what the Hawk was made for, though.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Can I ask you some questions?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mechanic: You sure can.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. What can you tell me about Korriban? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Have you ever heard of a Star Map?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mechanic: Not much. It's a pretty barren planet, to tell the truth. Not of much interest to anyone. Unless you're a Sith, I guess... they seem to think this place is something special. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mechanic: A Star Map? You mean like a navigation chart?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Why do the Sith think Korriban is special? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Yes, but much older. Are there ruins on Korriban? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Yes, but much older. Perhaps in the ruins?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mechanic: Probably all them ruins they found on the surface. That's the reason they built their academy here, I guess, to dig all them ruins up. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mechanic: There's a whole bunch of old Sith ruins up on the surface of the planet. That's why they put one of their academies here, to dig them all up. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mechanic: If them Sith found a Star Map in those ruins, nobody's ever mentioned it.
Journal Entry Added Star Map: Korriban
You have heard that there are ancient ruins of unknown origin located on the surface of Korriban. This would be a likely place to start looking for the Star Map, so finding out more about these ruins is a good idea.

You can also ask about the Sith Academy, and how someone gets to the ruins or into the academy:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. There's a Sith academy here? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. What can you tell me about the Sith Academy? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. How does someone get to the ruins? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 4. Do you know how to reach the ruins on the surface?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mechanic: There's people that come here from all over Sith space to try and join the academy. Most of them die, I hear. Pretty gruesome business, that. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mechanic: You don't. Not unless you're a Sith in the academy. They're the only ones allowed on the surface. They pay Czerka to ship things in and out, I guess, but that's all closely monitored.
Journal Entry Added Star Map: Korriban
It seems that only the Sith of the local monastery have access to the ruins on the surface. If you are going to reach them and search for the Star Map it will have to be through the monastery.
Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. So how does someone get into the academy?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mechanic: I don't know. There's all kinds of hopefuls in the colony trying to get in... why don't you ask one of them?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 4. Thanks, I'll be going. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 4. I have to go.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mechanic: Yep. Take care, now.

The door to Dreshdae is on the southeast side of the starport, with a Czerka guard standing to the right. As you approach, you may encounter a messenger for a party member if unlocked by dialog:

Bastila Canderous Carth Jolee Juhani Mission
No Jagi No Davin Kotras Xor No

The Twi'lek port authority standing behind a computer panel to the left speaks to you about a docking fee:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: Greetings, greetings. I see the, ah, Ebon Hawk has returned to tiny Dreshdae, has it? Good, good. Since you're a regular to our little colony, the docking fee is only 25 credits.

If you're equipping a Jedi robe or a lightsaber:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: Ahhh, I see, I see. Another Jedi come to small Korriban, yes? Good to meet you.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. How do you know I'm a Jedi? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. You're wrong. I am no Jedi.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: Well, ah, from the robes you are wearing, of course. They are quite distinctive. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: Well, ah, from the lightsaber you are carrying, naturally. Only Jedi carry ones like that, correct? KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: Ah. I assumed you were perhaps a Jedi from the distinctive robes you are wearing. My mistake. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: Ah. I assumed you were perhaps a Jedi from the lightsaber you are carrying. My mistake.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. How do you know I'm a Jedi? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. You're wrong. I am no Jedi. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Jedi come here often, do they?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: There are many people who come to Korriban from throughout Sith space, hoping to join the academy. Some of them are Jedi who have left the order. You will get into the academy for certain. I understand Jedi who have left the light side are made very welcome.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. What's this academy you mention? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. But I haven't left the light side!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: Oh? I thought that would have been why you came here. There is a Sith academy just outside of Dreshdae where they train their students and such. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: Oh... I... I see. Then... then this is a very dangerous place for you to have come. Korriban is a Sith planet... you know that, correct?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. So I imagine. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. What's this academy you mention? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. But I haven't left the light side!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: But enough about that. It is very nice to see that the Ebon Hawk has returned. I have not seen that ship for some time, indeed. Since you're a regular to our little colony, the docking fee is only 25 credits.

Either way:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. You know of the Ebon Hawk?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: But of course. There was a time when that ship used to dock here on a weekly basis. It's changed hands, then, has it? Ah, well, that happens.
Easy 3. [Persuade] That's not really necessary, is it?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: [Failure] Of course it's necessary. If you use our facilities, a few credits is not too much to ask, is it?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 5. I don't have enough to pay the fee...
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: Well, we do have to maintain the starport. You can't expect to use our meager facilities and not pay, can you?

If you don't pay, you cannot go through the door to Dreshdae:

[The door to Dreshdae will not open until the port authority has been paid his docking fee.]

The Czerka guard is no help:

Czerka Guard
Go about your business, please, citizen.
This is a Sith colony. They are the law here. I am here only to protect Czerka interests.
You can conduct business at our office, if you wish.
Oh, entertainment can be found at the local cantina, provided by Czerka of course.
Please avoid the Sith academy... unless you are a hopeful, naturally.

You can simply pay 25 credits, but it's easy to persuade him using skill or the Force that he doesn't need to collect the fee, before asking some questions:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: A pleasure to see the owner of the Ebon Hawk. The docking fee, for you, is only 25 credits.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Here's the 25 credits. Easy 3. [Persuade] That's not really necessary, is it? link=Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic}}/Force powers#Affect Mind 4. [Force Persuade] You don't need to collect the fee.
KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Lost: 25
Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: Excellent. Continue on through. Please be aware that the colony is under Sith jurisdiction... I'd advise you to stay out of their way. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: [Success] Ahhh, I suppose there is no need to charge the owner of the Ebon Hawk any fee, really. I'll open the door for you. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: [Success] I suppose you are correct. It won't hurt anything if I just let you on through.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Can I ask you some questions?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: What information do you wish? KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: Can I help you?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Tell me about Korriban.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: Well, this is Dreshdae... it's the only colony on the planet. Korriban is a Sith planet, well within their space, though it's not very well-inhabited. The Sith allow Czerka to conduct some mining here, and the company operates the starport... but otherwise the colony revolves around the local Sith academy.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Tell me about Czerka.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: Czerka is one of the largest corporations in the Core... I'm surprised you haven't heard of it. They have interests in mining all over this sector.
KotOR Icon Mission.png Mission: Hmph! Wherever you find the Sith, Czerka isn't far away. Like granite slugs on a sky tower.
KotOR Icon Zaalbar.png Zaalbar: More like a disease.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: Korriban is actually the location of Czerka's headquarters for this sector. Most business here in the colony is conducted there.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Have you ever heard of a Star Map?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: Err... doesn't your computer handle navigation? Beyond that, I really couldn't say.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. What can you tell me about the Sith academy?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: Unless you're one of the hopefuls who is trying to become a student there, I suggest you avoid it. The Sith are the law here and do as they please. It can be quite... dangerous.

After asking the mechanic about Korriban and why the Sith think it's special, or if he's ever heard of a Star Map:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png 4. What do you know about the Sith's excavations?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: The ones on the surface? All I know is that only the Sith students go there, sorry.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. I'll be on my way.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Port Authority: Enjoy your stay in Dreshdae.

The door to Dreshdae is now open.

Shaardan[edit]

At the corner of the corridor to the southeast you'll see the Sith apprentice Shaardan berating three prospective Sith students. As you approach, he speaks to you to ask how to teach them a lesson:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: No, that is the wrong answer. Again! You pathetic hopefuls can't possibly all be this stupid, can you?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith Student: P-please, Master Shaardan! Give us a chance! We'll do anything to get into the academy!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: Hmph. I'm no master... yet... but I like the sound of that. Alright, one more question, though the lot of you are trying my patience. Alright. Let's say you become a Sith and I am your commanding officer. I give you an order to spare the life of an enemy. Do you do it?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith Student: Oh, of course, Shaardan! Anything you command us!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith Student: We would never oppose you!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: No, no, no. *sigh* Do you honestly believe that the Sith are in need of such sniveling cowards? Mercy is a weakness. If your leader shows weakness, it is your duty to kill him and show true authority... true power. That is why the Sith are strong.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith Student: Th-thank you, Shaardan. We, uh... we understand now!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: No, you don't understand. And you probably never will. You wouldn't survive five seconds in the academy... the other students would tear you apart! Bah! I can't be bothered with fools! Perhaps... I should... hmmm.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: You! You there! You have the look of someone not quite as dense as these hopefuls. I require your aid for a moment. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: You! Jedi! You're looking to get into the academy, are you not? Of course you are... why else would you be here?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: Let me pose a question to you. These hopefuls will never survive in the academy. A lesson must be taught, here, but I am at a loss as to what form it should take.
KotOR Icon Jolee.png Jolee: Well, if you can't think of anything cruel you really shouldn't be out here, young man, should you? KotOR Icon HK-47.png HK-47: Advisement: Evisceration works well. Electrocution and blunt trauma also work well, I understand. KotOR Icon Carth.png Carth: Oh, this is rich.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: I wasn't talking to you!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: I'm thinking to spare them the effort of being killed and do it myself. Perhaps I shall turn their skin inside out? Or Force Lightning? It is a most impressive display. Or perhaps a bit of humiliation is in order? I could easily strip off their tunics and make them run through the colony. Or they could lose all control of their bodily functions... What do you think? I just can't seem to decide.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Why? What did they do? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. You can't just kill them! KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Why are you asking me?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith Student: We didn't do anything!! Please! Help us!! KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith Student: Please! Help us!! KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith Student: Please! Tell him to let us go, I beg you!!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: Silence!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: It's not what they did so much as what they didn't do... which is prove themselves worthy. I'm exhausted from dealing with their mewlings... so please decide for me, will you? KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: Of course I can kill them. The Sith can do whatever they like on Korriban, and frankly these worms rather deserve it. That's for you to decide, however. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: Why not ask you? I'm rather exhausted from dealing with hopefuls like these, I can barely think straight. Besides... I find it fun. Come now, a decision please.

You move closest to the light side of the Force by telling him to let them go, then trying to persuade him using skill or the Force, and succeeding:

Light Side Points Gained: +2
1. Let them go. That's my decision.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: Let them go? And what could possibly convince me to do that?
Light Side Points Gained: +2
1. [Persuade] They aren't worth your time.
Light Side Points Gained: +2
2. [Persuade] Killing them is wrong. You know that.
Light Side Points Gained: +2
3. [Force Persuade] You want to let them go.
Light Side Points Gained: +3
Shaardan: [Success] *sigh* I suppose not, but you're as boring as they are. Fine, fine... go on, all of you. Hopefully you've learned something, here.
Light Side Points Gained: +3
Shaardan: [Success] Ha ha ha ha! Now *that* has to be the funniest thing I've heard all day. Well, fine, whoever you are... since you've proven such a good sport, the boys can run off. I'm sure your little lesson will give them something to chew on.
Light Side Points Gained: +3
Shaardan: [Success] I... want to let them go. Yes, that's right. They're... not worth my time... My head... what was that? I feel like... hmph. Just... get out of here. All of you. I don't have time for this.

However, if you fail due to lack of skill then he kills them with Force Lightning:

Medium 1. [Persuade] They aren't worth your time. Easy 2. [Persuade] Killing them is wrong. You know that. link=Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic}}/Force powers#Affect Mind 3. [Force Persuade] You want to let them go.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: [Failure] No, I think it's you who isn't worth my time. Them I prefer to kill. Just feel lucky I don't squish you while I'm at it. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: [Failure] Now *that* has to be a first. Wrong, is it? Let me show you how wrong I think it is. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: [Failure] Do you really think my mind is that weak? I'm practically insulted. Now instead of trying the easy way out, give me a real answer.

If you cannot dominate minds then after failing you should choose the only entirely neutral option remaining:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. I think humiliation would be enough.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: You do? Hmmm. Perhaps having a bunch of hopefuls soiling themselves would be somewhat amusing. Let's see, shall we?

Otherwise, if you told him to let them go then you can choose another neutral option:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png 4. Because I'll kill you if you don't.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Shaardan: Oh? My, but that is rather intrepid of you! I don't think I've had someone stand up to me like that in ages! You see, boys? *This* is the kind of backbone you need if you ever want a hope of becoming a Sith. Now get out of my sight.

The remaining options may result in no net alignment shift if neutral (40-60), otherwise you're likely to move closer to the opposite side to your current alignment (or simply closer to the dark side if you don't want to get involved from the start):

Light Side Points Gained: +2
4. Perhaps just... scare them a little.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 5. No way. Leave me out of it. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 5. Fine. Do whatever you like.
Dark Side Points Gained: -2
Shaardan: Hmph. You're as pathetic as they are, it looks like. Bah! I can't be bothered. Get out of here, all of you! The sight of you makes me sick to my stomach!

You move closest to the dark side of the Force by telling him to kill them from the start:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Kill them, I don't care.
KotOR Icon Juhani.png Juhani: Do not do this. Do not turn towards the dark side!
Dark Side Points Gained: -4
Shaardan: My thoughts exactly. How lovely to encounter someone with such an agreeable disposition.

Lashowe[edit]

The corridor from the starport turns a corner to the northeast and goes down to a room where the Rodian weapons merchant B'ree faces you behind a counter at the south end. There's a freighter crewman on the northwest side of the room, and a male citizen in the northwest corner:

Freighter Crewman
I'm just here on one of Czerka's transports. I don't have no business with you.
There isn't much to do in Dreshdae except have a drink until your ship's ready to go.
Most of the merchants head over to Czerka's headquarters if they want to do some trading.
Don't go near that Sith place. They won't let you in, and them Sith will probably shoot you before they look at you.
Those Sith are about. Probably even watching us in here. Don't bet they ain't.
Citizen
*Sigh* I can't wait to get back to the Core systems. This planet is dangerous with all these Sith wandering around.
I hear them Sith are doing some kind of digging up on the planet's surface. How weird is that?
Whatever you do, don't try and land a ship outside the colony. The Sith will destroy you without a second thought.
Have you heard what happened to Taris? I can't believe the Sith are powerful enough to do that.
Yeah, the Czerka cantina's the only place to go around here for any real fun.
Are you a smuggler? That's the only way we get some decent goods to buy in this sector.
I hear you arrived on that old smuggling ship... the Hawk, or something like that?
Are you new to Korriban?
You're not here to try and get into the Sith academy, are you? Most of the poor fools who try are killed by the Sith. It's horrible!
There are a lot of young folk who come here hoping to get admitted to the Sith academy here in Dreshdae. Few ever do.
This planet belongs to the Sith. They allow Czerka to run the starport and a few mines, but the Sith are the ones in control.
Err... you're a Sith, right? *ahem* Excuse me...

Lashowe and two other Sith apprentices stand in the northeast corner of the room, and she challenges you as you try to exit via the corridor to the southeast:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Look here, my dear friends... we have a newcomer to our little colony. I don't believe I've seen this one before, have you? KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Look here, my dear friends... we have a group of newcomers to our little colony. I don't believe I've seen any of them before, have you? KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Look here, my dear friends... we have a newcomer to our little colony. A Jedi, no less. I don't believe I've seen this one before, have you? KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Look here, my dear friends. We have some newcomers to the colony... led by a Jedi, no less. I don't believe I've seen any of them before, have you?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Apprentice: I hate Jedi... and these fallen ones are worse! They always get into the academy, and they think they're better than the rest of us!
KotOR Icon Canderous.png Canderous: You should turn around and move along, kid. You don't want the trouble we'd give you. KotOR Icon Carth.png Carth: Great, just what we needed. Some punks come to steal our lunch credits. KotOR Icon Jolee.png Jolee: Well, if you'd seen us before, we wouldn't be newcomers, would we?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Ha-ha! Smart-mouthed newcomers, to boot.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Apprentice: Looks pretty fresh to me, Lashowe.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: That's what I thought. Well, stranger... I don't know whether you're aware of this or not, but here on Korriban the Sith do as they please. And we are Sith. Quite literally, whether you live or die depends upon our whim. What do you think of that, hmm?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. I don't think there's any need for hostilities. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. You can try to kill me. You'd fail, but you can try.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Oh, neither do I. I simply stated a fact. Do you know how many Sith there are in Dreshdae? KotOR Icon HK-47.png HK-47: Commentary: That's the way to tell the meatbags, master! Charging weapons, just in case. This should be fun!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Those are very brave words for such an insignificant person. Do you not realize how many Sith are here in Dreshdae?
KotOR Icon Jolee.png Jolee: Twelve? No, wait, thirteen! KotOR Icon Canderous.png Canderous: Not enough to save your sorry self. KotOR Icon Carth.png Carth: Is this a raffle? How many guesses do we get? KotOR Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Beep-beep boop boop.
KotOR Icon Canderous.png Canderous: Nice one, old man. KotOR Icon Juhani.png Juhani: Do not provoke them, Carth. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. I think that was a rhetorical question. But nice guess, Teethree.
KotOR Icon Jolee.png Jolee: Thank you. It takes effort to be properly irreverent at my age.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Apprentice: Enough to crush this fool! Let's do it, Lashowe! KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Apprentice: Let me kill this one, Lashowe! Let me do it!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Now, now, let's not be hasty. Perhaps our friend here could yet offer up some amusement.

Otherwise:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. I think that's a lot of responsibility for simple scum like you.
KotOR Icon Canderous.png Canderous: You couldn't find your backside with both hands AND your friends'.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: How precocious. I think this one tried to make a joke, don't you?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Apprentice: I didn't think it was funny.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Neither did I. A brave face, perhaps, but I'm more interested in being amused at the moment, I think.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: What do you say? Amuse us. Make us laugh, and we just might consider allowing you to live.

Unfortunately you can't call them out here and now (but have patience...). You can placate her by successfully making them laugh:

Medium 4. [Persuade] Err... okay. These two Mandalorians are out in the woods...
Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Go on.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. One of them collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other Mandalorian takes out his communicator and contacts his commander.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Apprentice: I've heard this one before, I think...
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Quiet!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. He gasps: "My partner has collapsed! I don't know what to do!" After a moment, the commander responds: "Calm down, I can help."
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: And then?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. "First, let's make sure your partner is dead." There is a silence, then a blaster shot is heard. Back on the communicator, the Mandalorian says: "Okay, now what?"
KotOR Icon Zaalbar.png Zaalbar: Ha ha ha! I like that one. KotOR Icon Carth.png Carth: Cute. Maybe you should try juggling next time.
KotOR Icon Canderous.png Canderous: It would be more realistic if the commander just shot them both.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Apprentice: [Success] Hah! Too funny! KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Apprentice: [Failure] Heh! That's the oldest joke in the book.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Apprentice: Ha ha ha! Good one! KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Well, it certainly didn't amuse us, did it? Try again.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Yes, I suppose that wasn't too bad. Alright then, my friend... you've done as you were asked. Perhaps we will meet again.

Otherwise, you can only antagonize her before they leave:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. I'm not looking for trouble, but I'm not here to amuse you. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Be careful. You might be heading for more trouble than you can handle. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. If you really want a fight just make the first move. It'll be your last.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Oh? I see. We'll just have to see about that, won't we? KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: What?!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Apprentice: Ha ha! Looks like this one's not afraid of you at all, Lashowe. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Apprentice: Heh... ha ha! I think someone just stood up to you, Lashowe.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Are you going to let us be insulted?! KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Shut up, fool! Unless you want to be next!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Apprentice: Oh, get over yourself already. I'm tired of this. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Apprentice: Yeah? Anytime!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Apprentice: Yeah, this one's got some backbone, at least. Let's go. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Apprentice: Stop it, this is boring. Let's just go back to the academy.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Fine. I'll deal with *you* later. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Fine, we'll go. As for you... I'll find you later. Trust me on that.

This failed attempt at sarcasm will earn the disapproval of the darker members of your party:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png 5. Please don't hurt me! I don't want a fight!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Apprentice: Ahhh, I hate this kind of whining. Do they always have to beg for mercy?
KotOR Icon HK-47.png HK-47: Commentary: Ohhh, master. I am so disappointed in you right now. No, don't look at me. KotOR Icon Canderous.png Canderous: Feh...
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Sith Apprentice: Yeah, let's get out of here.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lashowe: Very well, boys. I'm sure we can find something more exciting than these... dead fish. Let's go.

Enter the Sith Academy[edit]

You don't need to do anything before exiting Dreshdae and speaking to the guard at the Sith Academy entrance on the surface of Korriban, but you can ask the Czerka representative in the store about entering the Sith Academy, although the prospective Sith male and Tw'lek female in the store and by the exit respectively are better informed.

Czerka Store[edit]

Leave the room via the corridor to the southeast. Just beyond the exit on the right is the entrance to the Czerka store: after encountering Calo Nord and finding the Star Map in the Tomb of Naga Sadow, you'll be approached by the Twi'lek Senni Vek as you go up or down the ramp just beyond it, to the southeast. Inside the store, a Czerka representative stands behind a counter facing the entrance:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Greetings. If you haven't heard, there's some trouble over at the academy. A power struggle, most likely, but news is sketchy. So... anything Czerka can do for you?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Greetings. You've heard of that awful business on Edean, yes? Our corporate outpost there has been destroyed by the Wookiee savages. This could put back the use of Wookiee labor considerably. We may even have to abandon the planet completely.
KotOR Icon Zaalbar.png Zaalbar: You make our freedom sound like a tragedy. KotOR Icon Mission.png Mission: Yeah, I sure bet the Wookiees would hate to see ya go. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Ah, well. What can you do? Sorry... was there something you needed?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: I see you got one of your own early. May as well, while you can. Now then... was there something I could do for you? KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Well, certainly. Now they are doomed to remain savages forever... or possibly become extinct. Very sad. Now then... was there something you needed?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: If you've come for any medical supplies, I have to warn you that the kolto source on Manaan has been poisoned. It's a tragedy, considering the war and all... casualties are going to go through the roof. Czerka is pulling all its kolto out of storage as we speak. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Hmm. Aren't you the human who won the swoop race on Manaan? Congratulations and well done! It was most exciting to watch! It is an honor to have you in our offices. How may Czerka serve you? KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Tsk. I suppose you've heard about the destruction of Taris, yes? Awful business, that. Czerka lost a fortune there, not that the Sith care.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. What does Czerka do here on Korriban?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: We do some mining here and are responsible for local shipping and support of the Sith on Korriban. Our starport is mostly just freighters and such, but we do get many travelers that come here to learn from the Sith.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: I must say... Czerka is in need of droids right now. That's a mighty fine-looking one you have there...
KotOR Icon HK-47.png HK-47: Objection: This unit is not for sale, meatbag. KotOR Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: *angry mechanical spluttering*
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Errr... yes, of course, no offense meant. Heh. Touchy, isn't it?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: This office is actually our administrative headquarters for this region. Rather inauspicious, isn't it? We offer good prices here to those traders that keep the colony supplied. If you're in need of anything, this is the place to come.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Czerka works with the Sith?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Well why not? This is Sith space now, and the company has to survive regardless of who is in charge. The Republic, the Sith, eh... the economy has to keep going.
KotOR Icon Zaalbar.png Zaalbar: Profit at any cost... just like on my world.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: I'm not sure what your pet is muttering, but keep a restraining collar on it. It won't last long if it gets loose.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Now, was there something else?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Can I see what you have to offer?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: You certainly can. Allow me to punch up our stock.

You can ask him to tell you about the colony and the Sith academy, and who is allowed to enter:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Greetings and welcome to Czerka Corporation. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Greetings again, citizen. Something you need? KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: I understand you're receiving training at the monastery, citizen. Congratulations!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Can I ask you some questions about the colony?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Certainly.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. What can you tell me about the colony?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: There truly isn't much to tell, citizen. Dreshdae was established by the Sith, and we arrived to take advantage of some of the planet's mineral wealth. The only thing that's really unusual about Dreshdae, I suppose, is that the Sith built their academy on the east side of the colony. You don't find those just anywhere.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. What do you know about the Sith academy?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Not much. The Sith are a rather secretive lot, and they don't allow many into the academy. I hear they claim that Korriban was inhabited long ago by other Sith.
KotOR Icon Mission.png Mission: That would explain why this place is so creepy. This whole planet makes my head-tails twitch!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: But no one truly knows if that's true. The planet is certainly uninhabited outside of Dreshdae and always has been.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Who is allowed in the academy?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Only prospective students. We get many who come here each year, hoping to get picked. Many are simply considered too weak, I'm afraid. I understand there is one main person amongst the Sith who decides which students are worthy... Yuthura Ban, I believe her name is.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Where do I find this Yuthura?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Other than in the academy itself, I'm sorry, I don't know.
Journal Entry Added Enter the Sith Academy
In order to get inside the Sith academy in Dreshdae, you will have to be approved by one of the Sith as a worthy "hopeful". The one who does the deciding is a Twi'lek by the name of Yuthura Ban, apparently.

You can also ask if he ever heard of a Star Map:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Have you ever heard of a Star Map?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: A Star Map? We sell navigational components, if that's what you mean.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. No, I mean as in old ruins.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Well... the Sith have some old ruins that interest them up on the surface of the planet. If this map of yours is there, however, they've said nothing about it.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. How can one reach the ruins on the surface?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Czerka sends freighters to the surface every now and again to ferry artifacts to the Core. The men are not allowed out of their ships, however, as only Sith are allowed on the surface. Beyond that I really can't say.
Medium 1. [Persuade] Can't say or don't know?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: [Failure] Does it matter? I don't intend to speak of it, regardless.

You'll need to be persuasive to get him to tell you all he knows:

Medium 1. [Persuade] Can't say or don't know? link=Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic}}/Force powers#Affect Mind 2. [Force Persuade] It is very important that you tell me what you know.
Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: [Success] Well... all I know is that they call the site the Valley of the Dark Lords. Apparently, there are Sith Lords of old buried in tombs there. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: [Success] They... they call the site the Valley of the Dark Lords. Ancient Sith are buried in tombs there, along with many artifacts of old... some of great power, apparently.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: I don't know anything else. Neither will you, I'm sure... only the Sith students are allowed access to the site.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. I'll be going.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Czerka Representative: Do come again.
Journal Entry Added Star Map: Korriban
It seems that only the Sith of the local monastery have access to the ruins on the surface. If you are going to reach them and search for the Star Map it will have to be through the monastery.

The prospective Sith male standing in the northeast corner can also tell you how someone gets into the academy, as well as where you can find Yuthura Ban:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: Something you need?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Who are you? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Can I ask you some questions?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: Nobody you need to know. I'm just here to try to get into the Sith academy. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: Look, I'll answer questions if a Sith puts them to me, but not otherwise.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. What do you mean?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: I mean I'm here to get into the academy, and I'll do whatever it takes to succeed.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Why would you want to get into the academy?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: Why? Why?! That's a really dumb question. To become a Sith, of course! To wield the greatest power in the galaxy!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Why not join the Jedi?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: Hah! They're weaklings not worth anyone's attention! It's the Sith that are going to conquer the galaxy, after all.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. What do you think your chances are?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: I don't know. I've been here for a few days now, and the Sith still haven't paid me any attention. I suppose I should consider myself lucky. I've heard of some of the prospects getting killed. Still... it's all a test. I'll just have to be strong!
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 4. How does someone get into the academy?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: Well... you have to impress one of the Sith. The final decision rests with Yuthura Ban, however. She's the one who decides exactly which of us get into the academy or not. I've been hanging out hoping she'll come by and notice me, to be honest.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Where is this Yuthura Ban?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: Usually she's in the academy, but sometimes she comes out into the colony to look for prospects. If she's in the colony, she can usually be found in the cantina, but not always. She's one of the most powerful Sith in the academy, I hear.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. I'll be on my way.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: Yeah, go on.
Journal Entry Added Enter the Sith Academy
In order to get inside the Sith academy in Dreshdae, you will have to be approved by one of the Sith as a worthy "hopeful". The one who does the deciding of which hopefuls make it is a Twi'lek Sith Master by the name of Yuthura Ban. She can reportedly be sometimes found in colony's cantina... you should check there.

He stands with a Twi'lek female citizen, while a less informative prospective Sith, another Twi'lek female, stands in the southeast corner:

Citizen
I can't wait to get back to the Core systems. This planet is dangerous with all those Sith wandering around.
I hear them Sith are doing some kind of digging up on the planet's surface. How weird is that?
Whatever you do, don't try and land a ship outside of the colony. The Sith will destroy you without a second thought.
Have you heard what happened to Taris? I can't believe the Sith are powerful enough to do that.
The Czerka cantina's the only place to go around here for any real fun.
Excuse me...
Prospective Sith
I've had two friends killed by the Sith already. It must be some kind of test... I'll survive and make it into the academy, I know it!
You'd better be careful around some of those Sith. They'll eliminate any prospects just to remove a potential future threat!
Do you know where I can find Yuthura Ban? I understand she's the one who determines if you are accepted into the academy or not.
Can you imagine if I actually became a Sith? The power I'd have! I could do anything!!
When one of the Sith thinks you're ready for the academy, he gives you a medallion. I wish I had one of those...
If you're looking to get into the academy, you're going to have a tough time. There's lots of us here trying to get accepted.
Hey! You've got one of the medallions! You've been accepted! How did you ever manage that?!
You are so lucky. You got accepted into the academy, didn't you? I'm beginning to think I never will. *sigh*

A male citizen stands with her, while another wanders the northwest side. Both are informed of events on other planets:

Citizen
One of Korriban's primary trade routes went through Taris. Now that it's destroyed, the colony here will have an even harder time of it.
I suppose you've heard about Taris being destroyed? The Republic must have pushed the Sith into it, that's what I think.
The Sith blew up Taris, the entire planet. I guess they must have deserved it... but that's so many people...
Kashyyyk
Can you imagine? The Wookiee slaves on Edean have gone insane and started attacking the Czerka outpost there. It must be horrific!
One of my friends in Czerka said that they've been driven off Edean by those Wookiee creatures. Barbaric beasts!
I heard something about the Wookiees on Edean suddenly revolting. Do you know anything about that?
Manaan
The kolto reserves are all gone. That means the casualties in this war are going to become horrifying!
I bet the Republic is responsible for the loss of the kolto on Manaan. Yes they...they just want to keep it out of the hands of the Sith, I'm sure of it.
Have you heard? The kolto on Manaan has been poisoned... completely ruined. That's terrible news with the war still underway.
Manaan swoop champion
Aren't you the Manaan swoop champion? I figured you'd have gone to another sector by now, one with an actual circuit up and running.
It's not often I get a chance to meet such a fine swoop racer. You won on Manaan, right?
You look... familiar. Aren't you the one who won the swoop championship on Manaan? Too bad the circuit's dead or you could go pro.
Korriban
I hear the Sith in the academy are fighting each other. Hope they don't blow it up around themselves, or the colony will go with them!
There's some kind of power struggle going on at the Sith academy, I hear. Nothing unusual for those Sith, I guess.
I suppose you've heard? The heads of the Sith academy have disappeared. Something is going on, I'm sure of it.

Another Czerka guard stands in the back room to the southwest.

Korriban[edit]

Another male citizen wanders between the Czerka store and the Cantina down at the southeast end of the corridor. Beyond the cantina is the exit from Dreshdae: outside is the Sith Academy Entrance on the surface of Korriban.

To the right of the entrance to the cantina stand a prospective Sith Twi'lek female and human male. The female can tell you how someone gets into the academy, as well as where you can find Yuthura Ban:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: What do you want?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Who are you? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Can I ask you some questions?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: I'm trying to get into the Sith academy. Around here they call us 'hopefuls'. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: There's not much I could tell you. Unless you're a hopeful... are you?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. What do you mean?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: There are people who come here all the time to try to get into the Sith academy. I'm one of them.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Why would you want to get into the academy?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: Well... that's the only way to become a Sith, isn't it? In the academy you learn to use the Force.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Why not join the Jedi?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: After the Sith conquer the galaxy there aren't going to be any more Jedi, are there? I guess I'd rather join the winning side.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. What do you think your chances are?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: I thought they were good... but I've been here for days, now, and I haven't drawn any attention at all. I suppose that might be good, I don't know. Some of the 'attention' the Sith have shown to other hopefuls has been pretty... deadly.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 4. How does someone get into the academy?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: *sigh* I wish I knew, to tell you the truth. You have to impress one of the Sith, I guess. Either way, it's Yuthura Ban who makes the final decision. She's a Twi'lek Sith master, I hear. Very high rank. She's the one who decides which hopefuls make it and which ones don't.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Where is this Yuthura Ban?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: I really couldn't say. I hear that sometimes she comes out into the colony to drink at the cantina, though, but I guess she could be anywhere.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. I'll be on my way.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Prospective Sith: Alright. Goodbye.

Cantina[edit]

The entrance to the cantina is in the left wall down at the southeast end of the corridor. The Rodian Lurze Kesh stands to the left of this entrance by the cantina sign:

The Drunk Side

The Rodian Mika Dorin manages the cantina from behind the bar down its center:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mika Dorin: Greetings, sentient. You are the owner of the Ebon Hawk, yes? Or its latest owner, at least. I am honored to meet you. I am Mika Dorin, manager of this establishment. Is there something you are needing, sentient? The owner of the Ebon Hawk is always welcome in the Dresdae Cantina.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. You know something about the Ebon Hawk? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. What do you know about the Ebon Hawk?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mika Dorin: Only what I hear from rumors, sentient. The Hawk has been a frequent visitor to Korriban in the past, though often with a different owner. In all fairness, I should tell you that many of the past owners were suspected of being smugglers, slavers and pirates. It was even whispered that some worked for the Exchange. But I always found the Hawk's owners to be excellent citizens of fine character. The kind of people I prefer to do business with. Much better than the Sith, at least.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. No, nothing. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. That's all for now.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mika Dorin: As you desire, sentient.

He can answer some questions, including if he knows anything about a Star Map on Korriban:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mika Dorin: Welcome again, sentient. It is always a pleasure to serve the owner of the Ebon Hawk... it reminds me of old times. Is there something you are needing now?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Just some questions answered.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mika Dorin: What would you like to know, sentient?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Anything interesting going on here?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mika Dorin: This cantina has been provided by the Czerka Corporation, and it is a quiet place. This is as I prefer it. Elsewhere in Dreshdae it is not always safe or quiet. Dreshdae is run as the Sith wish. The Sith are not always pleasant in their dealings with others. If I had a say, I would prefer they and their academy were not present here. But I do not.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. What do you know about the Sith academy?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mika Dorin: The Sith built their academy here to train students. Many go to train there, though I know not why. Most are not permitted to train and many die in their attempt to be admitted. Many of their students and sometimes the Sith, themselves, come to my cantina. Look around and you will see them. I have little choice as to their presence. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mika Dorin: Only what I have heard from others: Uthar Wynn is dead, by your hand. I am hoping this will bring about a change in how the Sith will deal with others here on Dreshdae.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mika Dorin: Is there anything else you are needing from me?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Do you know anything about a Star Map on Korriban?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mika Dorin: Could you be more specific, sentient? What manner of Star Map do you seek?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. The very old kind. Perhaps you know of some ruins on Korriban? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. The very old kind. Perhaps the Sith's excavations involve something like it?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mika Dorin: There is a place on the surface of this planet called the Valley of the Dark Lords, I believe, where the Sith dig amongst such ruins. Perhaps what you seek is there. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mika Dorin: It may be possible, sentient. The only artifacts I have ever heard mentioned are in relation to the Sith and their Valley of the Dark Lords.
Journal Entry Added Star Map: Korriban
You have heard mention that the Sith are performing excavations on the surface of Korriban in a place they call the "Valley of the Dark Lords". This valley contains ancient ruins and seems to be the most likely location to find the Star Map, although how one might reach it is unknown.
Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. What can you tell me about the Sith's excavations?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mika Dorin: Very little. None are allowed in their ruins other than the Sith themselves, as I understand it.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Surely there must be some way to go there.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mika Dorin: I am afraid not. The Sith have a passage that leads to their valley from within their monastery, but only they may use it.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. That's all for now.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Mika Dorin: As you desire, sentient.

There's a crate in the northwest corner:

Item(s) Received Crate

There are also two pilots standing on the northwest side. The elder on the right can be asked about the Sith excavations:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: Greetings, friend. Fellow pilot, are you? Wouldn't mind taking a spin in the Ebon Hawk, myself. Sleek ship, that one.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Well, forget it. The Hawk's my ship.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: I never said it wasn't. Just would be nice to fly something with a bit of thrust, for once.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Does everyone here know about the Ebon Hawk?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: In a small colony like this, everyone knows everyone's business.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: It's better than thinking too much about all the Sith lurking about, here. The Hawk's been in and out of here for ages. An out-of-the-way starport is a good place for, uh... privateers. Not saying you are one.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. What kind of ship do you pilot? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. And what if I am? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. I'm not a smuggler, if that's what you mean. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. How about you mind your own business?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: Oh, just a boring freighter. We've had some pretty steady work here, though, since the Sith started their excavations up on the surface. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: Wouldn't make any difference to me. Just wish I had a ship like that, myself. Business is steady here with the Sith, but it's a boring haul. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: Sorry. Hard not to be interested. All we get to do is freighter work, though the Sith certainly provide a lot of that.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: In case you're forgetting, partner, they don't exactly want us talking about their business.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: Ah, who cares about them? I've seen some of those things they're digging up in those ruins in the valley. Pretty creepy, if you ask me.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. What have they been digging up?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: Weird artifacts. Looks like alien stuff. Maybe aliens lived on Korriban a long time ago, who knows?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: Don't be stupid. I was talking to one of those Sith and he said there are tombs there dating back to when the Sith were here in ancient times.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: There were Sith here in ancient times? Sounds like he was feeding you a line. Korriban's only been settled for a short time.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: So says you. He said that the planet was settled by the Sith a long time ago, and then they all left or something. Those tombs are really important to them.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: Tombs, hey? That makes the stuff they send us even creepier. Wish I didn't have to haul it around.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Where do you take these things?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: We used to haul everything to Taris, and the Sith would take it off our hands there. Not sure where we'll be bringing it now.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Do you have any of these artifacts, now?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: No. We're not due for another shipment for at least another week.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. How would one get to these excavations, exactly?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: It's in a valley on the surface, beyond some mountains to the east. No land route... that's why they have us fly in.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: Shows what you know. The academy has a route through the mountain... that's how all their students get to the excavation site.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: Well, regardless, the Sith don't let anybody near that valley. Even when we land, they watch us like a Drayberian hawk and want us gone quickly.
Journal Entry Added Star Map: Korriban
You have heard that there are ancient ruins of unknown origin located on the surface of Korriban. This would be a likely place to start looking for the Star Map, so finding out more about these ruins is a good idea.
Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. So no one could sneak into the valley by ship?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: Not a chance. You'd be better off sneaking through the academy, if you wanted to go to the valley.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: Hah! Now that'd be a sight to see.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. I'll be going.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: Sure thing. Good flying, friend.
Journal Entry Added Star Map: Korriban
It seems that only the Sith of the local monastery have access to the ruins on the surface. If you are going to reach them and search for the Star Map it will have to be through the monastery.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Pilot: Nice to see you again. Hold onto that Hawk... it'll do well by you.

The younger bearded pilot on the left is less talkative:

Pilot
You own the Ebon Hawk, don't you? Wish I could fly a bird like that.
Our ship will be ready soon. Then it's off to Coruscant for a week or so.

A Rodian and an informed citizen stand in the southwest corner:

Rodian
I must be on my way, sentient. My ship leaves very soon.
If you are wise, you will avoid the Sith on this planet, sentient. They do as they wish and many are killed without regret.
Taris has been destroyed. This portends ill for the future, sentient.
There is a building called the cantina which is a place of recreation.
Many sentients come to this planet to attempt to enter the Sith academy. I understand most die in the process. How unfortunate.
I have only recently come to this planet, myself. My apologies if I cannot help you.
This planet is controlled by the Sith. They are the supreme law here, and I suggest you be wary of them.
I must go to the office of the Czerka company. That is where business is transacted.
Excuse me, sentient. I do not think it wise to speak to you.

The Rodian Pazaak player Toll Apkar stands by a table in the southeast corner:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png Toll Apkar: Greetings, sentient. Are you willing to engage in a hand of Pazaak? I am afraid there are few takers on Korriban... it would be good to have a little fun, for once. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Toll Apkar: Greetings once again. Might you have a Pazaak deck? I would be most interested in some idle entertainment, sentient.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Who are you? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Who are you again?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Toll Apkar: I am known as Toll Apkar. If you must know, I am quite proficient at Pazaak. I would not wish to begin a game under false pretenses.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. I want to ask you some questions.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Toll Apkar: There are others here to answer your questions, sentient. To be honest, if we are not going to engage in some entertaining sport, I would rather be alone.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. I want to play Pazaak, but I don't have a deck. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. I don't have a deck yet. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 4. Goodbye. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Sorry, not interested right now.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Toll Apkar: I see. I apologize, but I do not have a spare. Should you ever acquire a deck, do come and see me. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Toll Apkar: You still don't have a deck? Then why are you bothering me? Until you get a deck we have nothing to discuss. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Toll Apkar: Come back anytime, sentient. I'm always willing to play.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Let's play.

If you don't have a deck, you'll need to get one on another planet before returning.

Unfinished Business[edit]

Speak to the Rodian Lurze Kesh outside the Cantina to learn about some unfinished business involving the Ebon Hawk:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: You there, human... you are the one flying the Ebon Hawk now? I saw you disembarking earlier.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Who wants to know? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Yes, the Ebon Hawk is my ship. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. I don't have time to talk.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: Name's Lurze, not that it's important. I don't know you and you don't know me. What's important is that we've been waiting for this shipment for a month, now. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: Is that so? Well, you can tell Davik that my people are spitting plasma over this. We've been waiting for this shipment for a month, now. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: Whoa, now! You're just going to have to make a little time, human. We've been waiting for this shipment for over a month.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: I suppose we should be grateful that the shipment survived Taris at all, though, right? Anyway... hand it over and let's finish this.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Hand what over? What are you talking about? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. You obviously have me mistaken for someone else. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. I'm no smuggler, if that's what you're implying.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: Wait a minute... don't you work for Davik? Just how is it you happen to be flying the Ebon Hawk, anyway?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Look, I don't want any trouble, okay?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: I'm not here to give you any trouble, human. The people I represent and Davik had an arrangement... I just want to know what the status of it is.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Davik's dead, I presume. I stole the Ebon Hawk from him. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. What business is it of yours? The Ebon Hawk is mine, now. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. There is no arrangement. The Ebon Hawk belongs to me, now. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. I'm sure we could work out something, if you're interested.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: Well, when a planet explodes, you've got to expect a few changes. Davik's dead, hey? Maybe you can still help me with something. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: Fair enough. To be honest, I don't really care what happened to Davik or how you got the ship. I'm interested in something else.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: We had arranged for several kilograms of spice to be shipped to us here aboard the Ebon Hawk. Perhaps Davik left it on board? I suspect if it is, it would be in the container we gave him. Locked and requiring a code. Might you have seen such a thing, human?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. I don't want to get involved in this. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 4. There's nothing like that on the ship.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: Are you sure? The people I represent could make it well worth your while.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. I said I didn't want to get involved.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: That is unfortunate. The people I represent will be... displeased. They've already lost their interests on Taris, after all. But it is your choice, human. Pray that no-one takes your refusal personally.
Journal Entry Added Unfinished Business
You encountered an alien by the name of Lurze who wanted some spice that was apparently put on the ship by Davik in order to be smuggled to him. You have refused to get involved, however, and Lurze left you alone... although he did comment that his employers might not be happy about this.

Otherwise:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. I may have. How much is it worth to you? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. How well worth my while?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: One thousand credits... and perhaps more, if you're interested. What do you say to that?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. And if I refuse?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: My employers would be disappointed, no doubt. Have you another use for the spice, human? Consider carefully.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. I could take a look for it. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Fine. I'll take a look for your container.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: Excellent. Set the code on the container to "Red-47". When you get the spice, bring it to me here... I'll wait for you.
Journal Entry Added Unfinished Business
You have encountered an alien by the name of Lurze who mentions that there is a container on board the Ebon Hawk filled with spice that Davik had agreed to bring him. You have agreed to return to Lurze with the spice, and he has provided you with the security code: "Red-47".

If you return without the spice, you have another opportunity to tell him you don't want to get involved in this:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: There you are. Do you have the spice, human?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. I couldn't find your container.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: No? Could you be persuaded to continue looking for it? The spice it carries is most eagerly awaited by my employers.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Not yet, but I'll look for it. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. I'll try looking again. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. I've decided I don't want to get involved in this. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. No, I don't think so.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: Excellent. Set the code on the container to "Red-47". When you get the spice, bring it to me here... I'll wait for you. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: That is unfortunate. The people I represent will be... displeased. They've already lost their interests on Taris, after all. But it is your choice, human. Pray that no-one takes your refusal personally.

Once you've retrieved the spice from the compartment in the north wall of the Ebon Hawk's cargo hold, you can tell him you don't want it or his credits, or exchange it for 1000 credits as agreed:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Yes, I do. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Oh, wait, I have it right here...
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: So you do. That does, indeed, look like the amount that Davik promised. Very well... 1000 credits is yours in exchange for the spice.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Just take the spice. I don't want it or your credits.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: Are you certain? It is odd to meet a human who is uninterested in free credits. But have it your way.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Fair enough. 1000 credits it is.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: Done and done, human. Here you are.
KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Received: 1000

However, he can always be persuaded to give more:

Dialog
Always 1. [Persuade] I don't work for Davik, remember? I want more. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 4. Make it 2000 credits or I hand this package over to the authorities.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: [Success] I suppose we should count ourselves fortunate that you're here to deliver on Davik's promise at all. 1500 credits, human, but no more. KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: The authorities? Do you mean the Sith? This is Korriban, human... the Sith here have no interest in smuggling. But I have no desire, either, for you to take the package back into Republic space. Extortion or no, I will give you 1500 credits... but no more.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: Here you are. You drive a hard bargain, human.
KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Received: 1500
Experience Points (XP) Received:
  • 500 Turned over spice to Lurze
Item(s) Lost Lurze Kesh
  • Spice

Once Lurze has taken the spice off your hands, he asks if you might be interested in earning more credits:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: Allow me to take the spice off your hands. My employers will be most pleased. Tell me... might you be interested in earning more credits?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Maybe. Tell me more.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: It is a simple courier mission. Motta the Hutt on Tatooine awaits delivery of a box that I hold. The spice was his, and the box is his repayment. There is no danger involved, human, so long as you do not attempt to open the box yourself. I'm sure Motta will pay you what was promised to Davik for the delivery. I believe 2000 credits was the agreed upon sum.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Why don't you just bring it to him yourself?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: I suppose I would eventually have to, should you refuse. You are already here, however, and you have a ship... it is most convenient to have you deliver the box.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. What happens if I open the box?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: *Never* open the box. Opening the box would be horribly bad.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. But what would happen? Is it a bomb?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: It is not a bomb. Just do not open it... that is all I can say. It represents no danger to you so long as it remains closed.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Where can I find this Motta?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: He can be found in Anchorhead, though I am uncertain exactly where. He should not be difficult to spot, fat as he is.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 4. Make it 3000 credits and we have a deal.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: If you want more you bargain with Motta, not me. He's the one you'll be working for on this mission. It's his box, after all. Bring it to him and you can haggle all you want over the price. Although I should warn you that Motta doesn't like to renegotiate.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. No, not really. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Get out of my sight, scum. KotOR Icon Dialog.png 5. Forget it. Not interested.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: Not interested in the smuggling business, are we? You do know the history of the Ebon Hawk, I assume? Well, no matter.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: It is your decision. I wish you well, human, and thank you for the service you have provided.
Journal Entry Added Unfinished Business
You turned over a shipment of spice that Davik had left on board the Ebon Hawk to an alien named Lurze. Lurze offered you further employment, but you refused to get involved any further and so he left you alone.

Otherwise:

KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Alright. I'll do it.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png Lurze Kesh: Very good. I will have some of my workers load the box onto the Ebon Hawk for you. It will be waiting there for you. Remember: do not open the box! Now I must go. My employers thank you for your assistance.
Journal Entry Added Unfinished Business
Upon turning over the spice to Lurze, he offered you further employment: take a strange box to Motta the Hutt at the swoop track on Tatooine. However, Lurze warned you *not* to open the box... though he was not clear on why or what might be inside.

If your curiosity gets the better of you then you can open the mysterious box now in the Ebon Hawk's cargo hold, or you can simply travel to Tatooine and speak to Motta the Hutt in Anchorhead's swoop registration.

B'ree[edit]

You can ask B'ree what sort of merchandise he offers:

Dialog
KotOR Icon Dialog.png B'ree: Greetings; welcome to Korriban. If there's anything you need, you can talk to me. KotOR Icon Dialog.png B'ree: Greetings. Say, aren't you the one who won that swoop race on Manaan? I'm a big fan. I hope we can find something suited to a celebrity like you; is there anything you'd like?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png B'ree: Greetings; if you haven't heard, there is some trouble over at the academy. Best stay away from there. But anyhow... is there anything I can offer you today?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. What sort of trouble?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png B'ree: I don't really know much; but people have been either whispering or fighting around here, and my sales are through the roof. Trouble's good for business, that's what I always say. Especially when it's Sith trouble. So, how can I help you?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. What sort of merchandise do you offer?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png B'ree: Weapons, mostly; I've got... connections. You'll need them, if you're going to be spending any time here.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Why so? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. Why will I need weapons?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png B'ree: There are a lot of Sith on this planet; this is where they come to study. Obnoxious brats, the lot of them. Just between you and me, I'll never understand why everyone thinks 'dark side' and 'hooligan' should be the same thing. But they are definitely dangerous. So that's why you'll probably need weapons. Heh... not that they'll be much help.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 1. I'm training to be a Sith myself; I think I'll be alright.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png B'ree: Really? You won't tell them what I said, will you? You seem like a good sort, compared to most of the lot around here. I didn't mean anything by it. I sell to anyone, no matter how they treat me. So, is there anything you'd like?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. What sort of connections? KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. What connections do you have?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png B'ree: Mandalorian raiders occasionally drop by, needing to get rid of some extras that they can't sell in the civilized systems. They treat me well, I treat them well. It works out. So if you need weapons... and you probably will... this is the place to come.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 2. Not right now, thank you.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png B'ree: Thanks for dropping by.
KotOR Icon Dialog.png B'ree: Good to see you again; is there anything you need?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png 3. Can I see your merchandise?
KotOR Icon Dialog.png B'ree: Certainly; allow me to punch up the stock.
