Bao-Dur joins your party when you first enter the Restoration Zone on Telos, and must be a member of your party until you arrive on the Polar Plateau. Once aboard the Ebon Hawk, he can be found in the garage in its southeast quadrant.

When you first speak to him with Alignment 75 or more:

KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Hey, General. Are you all right?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What are you talking about? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. You lost me.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: You look like you've been standing to close to one of my shield generators.

These responses end the dialog unless Mira has also been added to your party:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. You're one to talk. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I was inspired by your arm. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Are you sure you haven't been chewing on power cables?
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Whoa, claws out today, aren't they?

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Claws out today, aren't they? You've been spending too much time with Mira.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Now whose claws are out?
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Seriously, you don't look that way from spending extra time in the 'fresher. I've seen other Jedi - not many, but a few - who looked like that. And I feel a little... strange... around you. A little more in control - calm, like I usually only get when I'm repairing something.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. When one is in touch with the Force, it can manifest itself visibly. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. It's a Jedi thing. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Don't know what you're talking about.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: All right, if you don't want to talk about it, I won't press you.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Was there something you wanted me for?

When you first speak to him with Alignment 10 or less:

KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Hey, General. I want to talk to you.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What is it? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. And I don't. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I brought you on board to attend to the ship and droids, not to waste my time.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Make it quick. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: No, you're not leaving until we've talked about this. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Oh, is that how it is?
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Maybe the others don't know what's happening, but I can see what's going on - and the others have felt it, too.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What are you talking about? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. And what makes you think I care? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I don't have time for this.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: You can't hide it, General. Just look at your face. I saw other Jedi who looked like you - during and after the war. It's that woman. You have to get away from her. She'll destroy you.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I don't know what you mean. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. You think I can't take care of myself? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. You don't have to worry about Kreia. She doesn't have any hold over me.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: She's manipulating you, maybe all of us. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I'm not saying you're not strong enough, General, but I'm not discounting her either. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. You're wrong about Kreia. I control Kreia, she does not control me.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 5. Worry about yourself, Bao-Dur.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Just be careful, General. You don't know what she wants, and she's got some goal. I'm sure of it.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Was there something you wanted me for?

Otherwise, or when you next speak to him:

KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: General. Need something?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Really, you don't have to call me "General." KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I need you to stop calling me "General."
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Sorry, guess I can't get my head out of the past.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. How'd you end up on Telos? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. You going to stick around here?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I was just wondering what you've been doing since the war ended. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: As long as you don't mind having me around. It's a nice change from drifting.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I moved around for a couple years. Working as a starship mechanic got me from place to place. I wasn't ready to settle down after the war.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. During my exile, I did the same thing. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Why did you move around so much? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I'm sure you weren't the only soldier to feel that way.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Then you understand my restlessness. Though the war had ended, I couldn't find peace in anything. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: And I don't think I'll be the last.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: As long as I kept moving, I didn't have to think about what happened. Know what I mean?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Only too well. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Sounds like you were just running away. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Couldn't handle the truth, huh? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. We must face our fears to become stronger.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I'm sure you do. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I was, no doubt. It's hard to face up to yourself sometimes, and for a few years, I couldn't. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Maybe if I had the Force to lean on, I could have worked it out. But then the Force didn't seem to be of much help to others. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Mostly, I was angry. Angry about what I had done, about why I had done it.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I decided I'd do something constructive. I wanted to make up for the things I'd done in the war. I wanted to design planetary shields, but there weren't many systems with the credits to spare - there was more that needed to be rebuilt than protected. I found out that Telos was going to be the flagship project for the Republic, and it sounded like something good. I saw Telos before the Sith razed it. It deserved a better fate. But Czerka ruined everything. I thought I could force Czerka out on my own, but I guess I can't fix everything myself.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I think taking on Czerka single-handedly might be a little out of your league. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. It's good to have you around again. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I'll leave you to your repairs.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: All I wanted to do was send a message, but I couldn't even do that right. That's the past, though. It's good to be working with you again, General. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: It's good to be working with you again, General. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Talking to you is better than talking to a machine all day.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Something else I can help you with?

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I just wanted to talk to you. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 5. Never mind.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Yes, General?

He also makes that response if you return after asking what he's been doing since the war ended. In every case, you can now ask once about his remote, his opinion about the Telos situation, how he lost his arm, and what he's doing (when aboard the Ebon Hawk):

Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Where did you pick up that remote, anyways?
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: That old thing? I built him when I was a kid. Been following me around for years now, despite what I've done to try and chase him off.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Remote: Dwoooooo.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Hey, just kidding. I'm happy to have you around.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Can you build me one?
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I would, but then I wouldn't be the only one with a floating sphere following him around, and I kind of like that.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What does it do, other than follow you around? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. That's got to be annoying.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: It's not that bad. I guess you'd know - you've always got someone following you around.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: He helps me out with repairs. I outfitted him with a cutting laser and some other tools for delicate modifications. He's also good for singeing the pants of annoying techs.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Remote: Deet deet deet.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I've been thinking about doing some other work on him, but I barely have time. Too busy fixing up the ship.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. What's your opinion about the Telos situation?
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: If the Republic would just rein Czerka in, there'd be no problem. But as long as Czerka is allowed to undermine the Ithorians' efforts, Telos will remain dead. I can't take seeing my work being used by those bloodsuckers. But there's nothing I can do about it, so let's talk about something else.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. How'd you lose your arm, anyway?
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I got tired of it - kept dropping my hydrospanner. Figured I'd get a new one.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Yeah? I'll bet that was fun. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. That seems a bit... rash. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I was being serious.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I was only kidding. Actually, it was a souvenir from Malachor. I was lucky it was all I lost. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: If you were me, you'd probably want to joke about it, too. Actually, it was a souvenir from Malachor. I was lucky I didn't lose more.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: But at least it gave me something to do, right? Everyone always said I was probably half machine, anyway.

Aboard the Ebon Hawk:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. What are you doing?
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Just working on the ship. I'm not sure who got her up and running, but I'm amazed she's even spaceworthy. Whoever made these repairs doesn't think like most mechanics. But don't worry, I'll get everything in shape.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. What was it you wanted to talk about?

That response is only available if you haven't already asked what he's been doing since the war ended, but you shouldn't select it because he'll ask you again why you decided to fight before further dialog can be unlocked. Once you have already asked, then if 40 > Influence > 60 when you next speak to him:

KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I didn't want to talk about the war, but can I ask you something?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Oh, now you want to talk about it?
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Just drop it then. It's not important.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Obviously it is.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: The Force lets you look right through me, huh? But if you don't want to talk about it, that's okay.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Maybe another time. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Good, I wasn't really interested anyways.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Sure, it's nothing important, General.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What is it?
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Why did you decide to fight?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I was eager to join the great battle. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. The Mandalorians had to be stopped. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. The Jedi served no one with inaction. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. It was a mistake, I should have respected the Council's wishes.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I felt the same way. I remembered when word of the Mandalorian attacks arrived on Iridonia. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: The war went poorly before Revan and the Jedi lent aid to the Republic. Many of us believed the Jedi to be cowards who were afraid to face the Mandalorian threat. I remembered when word of the Mandalorian attacks arrived on Iridonia.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: My people had colonies across the Outer Rim. Many of them were among the first systems to fall.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. As good a reason as any for joining. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. So you wanted revenge? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Unlike many of the Jedi, I could not stand by and watch.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Revenge, and to crush the Mandalorians - to send them back to wherever it was they came from.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I did not join because I wanted to protect, though. I hated them. I wanted to destroy them - to give them the mercy they gave the people they conquered. I remember the thrill I felt when we fought them in battle. Victories were rare, but we celebrated every Mandalorian's death. Do you know how it felt?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I detached myself from the frenzy of battle. It was impersonal. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Jedi are trained to resist such strong emotions. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Yes, I felt it too - the rush of life as the Mandalorians were cut down.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I couldn't do that. It was almost as though the battle took control of me, drove me forward.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: It's always on my mind, now. That loss of control blinded me, turned me into a weapon. I... just needed to get that off my chest.

Once that dialog is completed, and you return with 25 > Influence > 75:

KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: You know, I'm glad I found you again, General.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What are you talking about? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. You were lucky to find me again.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Now what is it? KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: You're right about that.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: We were together at Malachor. I don't know if anyone else could understand.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. So, why are you here?
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Getting philosophical on me? I'm here because you found me on Telos and I decided to come along for the ride - not that I had much choice after we got going.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I mean, why are you still here? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I'm pretty sure you invited yourself along.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. We could let you off wherever we stop next. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Your recollection of the incident must be clouded. But as to why I'm here, it's simple.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Tired of me already?
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I was frustrated. Watching the Ithorians getting pushed around by Czerka - I thought I could make a difference, but it was taken away from me. Guess if one planet was good enough for me, why not the galaxy?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Maybe I'm not looking to fix the galaxy.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: You might not be looking, but maybe it'll happen along the way.

That response ends this dialog. Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Sometimes there are things that can't be fixed. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Even if you knew what was wrong with it, how would you know where to start?
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: You just have to know what the circuits look like.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Is that a hint you need to get back to work? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. If you see them, let me know.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Only if you don't have any more questions, General. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I'll be sure to do that, General.

Those responses conclude this dialog. Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. It's all wires and switches to you, huh?
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: That's the way I see things. Traveling with you, I know there's something else in the universe, but I can't do anything about it anyways. So I'll leave it to you to take care of.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I told you, I'm not a Jedi. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I'll do my best.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: They might not call you a Jedi anymore, but believe me, you are. It's not the sort of thing that you just stop being. You're stuck with it, just like you're stuck being the General. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Just make sure you keep the ship running.

Once that dialog is completed, and you don't want him to gain any more levels as a Tech Specialist, then if you return with 11 > Influence > 89 and your alignment < 50:

KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Having you here has an effect on me, General. I never noticed it years ago. I think my mind was too occupied then.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What do you mean? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. This effect, it is a familiar feeling? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Your mind is weak, this is to be expected.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Yes, it is the feeling of hatred, of anger.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I feel the anger boiling to the surface, as I once felt towards the Mandalorians, but now it is towards myself alone. I cannot let go of it. It is too raw, too consuming. The last years of my life have been defined by it. The Mandalorians, Czerka and Revan. And above all else, myself, for what I did at Malachor.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Give in to your anger. Your emotions are truth. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. You must harness these emotions. They will give you strength. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Your anger is truth, your guilt a weakness.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Anger is the only constant in my life - perhaps it is the truth. Drawing from it, I was able to crush the Mandalorians. Once, I built shields to defend planets from their attackers. The Mandalorians crushed them. When I built weapons to destroy them, the Mandalorians were destroyed.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. You see, in anger lies your strength. With it, I can train you to gain mastery over the Force. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I would train you to be a Jedi, but you must draw upon your anger or you will fail.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Yes, teach me the ways of the Force, General. Together, our enemies will fall.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Then we have no time to waste.

Otherwise:

Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What do you mean? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. It's good to hear I'm having a positive effect on you. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Your mind is weak, that's why.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: We can't all be Jedi like you, General.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I feel... calm. More in control. The anger is still there, but I can feel it drifting away. The last years of my life have been defined by it - the Mandalorians, Czerka and Revan. And above all else, myself, for Malachor.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What about me, for giving the order?
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Never, General. It had to be done. My hands destroyed the Mandalorians. I cannot be forgiven for that.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. But you can - what you did was necessary, as was what I did. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Had you not, millions of innocents in the Republic would have been killed. You saved them. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. If Ulic Qel-Droma could be forgiven for waging war against the Republic, you can be forgiven for saving it.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Even if I did it out of hatred of the Mandalorians?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. You did it to save us, to protect us from death. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. The Mandalorians were defeated, and the Republic saved. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Anger will lead you to the dark side.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: That might be the truth, but I don't want to see it that way. I can't just ignore the blood on my hands. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: My feelings are bad enough without having to worry about Jedi problems. My anger is nothing compared to the blood on my hands.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. You have dwelled in the past for too long. You cannot undo history, but you can change the future. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. You're too stubborn. There is no blood on your hands, just the blood your guilt forces you to imagine. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Guilt is just something you use to hide from your true responsibility.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Even if there isn't, I still feel like I need to do something, to make up for it. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Maybe that's just the shield that I need to stay sane.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Learn the ways of the Force. I could teach you. But you must let go of your anger, or else it will destroy you, and you will fall. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. If you will let me teach you, the Force can become your shield. I believe you could learn to become a Jedi.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Under your guidance, I feel like I could overcome my anger.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Then we have no time to waste.

In either case, if your alignment < 40 then he has now become a Dark Jedi Guardian.

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. [Bao-Dur has now become a Jedi Guardian.] KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. [Bao-Dur has now become a Dark Jedi Guardian.]
