Map of the refugee landing pad

Ebon Hawk

The Ebon Hawk is on an otherwise empty circular platform on the left side of the refugee landing pad: when the walkway from it turns right around a corner, ahead you'll see a refugee on the left being confronted by two Exchange thugs (a Weequays and a Trandoshan). As you approach them:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: You wander too far, human - we warn you what happen, but your kind not listen.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Break legs, maybe you not wander so far.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: No, look - you can't keep us trapped in the Refugee Sector. We can't survive there. You've got us locked in!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Know your place, human. Your place is there, not here.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Nnh? Another human - what you look at?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. At a couple of cowards without the stomach for a real fight. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. A bunch of corpses, if you don't leave that man alone.

Those are the first of many chances to fight them. Otherwise:

Dark Side Points Gained: -2
3. Just a spectator who wants to see how this plays out.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. What's going on here?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: No lookers, keep walking and you get no trouble.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Exchange business, human, not for your seeing unless you want to lose your eyes.
Light Side Points Gained: +2
2. I won't let you hurt that man. Stand away from him.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Just try it, and we'll see who loses what. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. Threaten me again, and it'll be the last thing you do.

The option to move closer to the light side of the Force is available throughout the remaining dialog until you fight or try to persuade them:

Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Exchange business? That's why I'm here.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Hnh? What you say?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Let the human speak - and let the human choose the words carefully.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I've come here to meet with the Exchange. The two of us have business. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Forget it. Just die.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Exchange business? Exchange find you, human, not other way 'round.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. And how do I get the attention of the Exchange? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Tell your employers that Name has come to Nar Shaddaa to meet with them.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Your name not worth weight in mynock droppings, human.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: You want Exchange to see you? Prove yourself. Act, not talk. Make good with Exchange, maybe they come talk to you.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Make trouble, then they come for you, too. They hit you until you never make trouble again.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Why does the Exchange care what happens to this man? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. So if I kill you two, that'd be enough to bring them here?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Refugee sector very big, many refugees from many worlds. Exchange tell us to keep them in one place, break them down.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Refugees stray when not watched. Very bad. Not stay, need to make them stay. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Nhn? What? You not kill us.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Why do the Exchange want to keep them here?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Exchange business not your business, human. Go away, before you can no longer walk.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: You talk too much, we done listening.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. So am I. Prepare to die.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: One human, not amusing fight. More than one human, a little better, spill more blood.

Otherwise, they can always be persuaded to let you answer for him, then they leave:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I'll take this man back to his sector - there's no need to hurt him.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Pain makes human not forget to stay in refugee sector. Pain is necessary.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: You suffer with him, you keep talking. Go!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. [Persuade] A crippled man is useless to the Exchange. I'll keep him under control... and intact.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: [Success] Very well. Human answers for human - but we see him again, we break him and you.

In either case, if you speak to the refugee afterward:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Thanks for your help - they would have crippled me for sure.
Dark Side Points Gained: -2
2. Save your gratitude - now you owe me.
Dark Side Points Gained: -2
3. I may still cripple you if you prove useless to me.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: All right. What do you want, then? KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: If you saved me to cripple me again, then you're worse than they are - what do you want with me?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. Just shut up and get out of here. Light Side Points Gained: +2
5. I was glad to help. You better head out before you run into any more trouble.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Whatever your reasons - thanks.

Otherwise, you can ask him questions about those thugs before he leaves:

Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I couldn't stand by and let them hurt you. Why were they hunting you? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I want to know who those thugs work for. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Why were those thugs hunting you?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Well, they work for the Exchange - for a Quarren named Visquis. He's looking to step up in the Exchange. The only language the Exchange respects is money, so Visquis is trying to increase his profits by using the refugees here in Nar Shaddaa as a cheap labor force. We're only good to him as slaves and merchandise. He wants to keep us in one place so he can control us. That's always been the way... well, except lately.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Where can I find Visquis?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Huh. You don't. He comes to you, if he's got reason to - either because you can help him out, or because you're making trouble. Either way, it's not a good thing.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What do you mean? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What's he been doing in the Refugee Sector?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: The Exchange has been clamping down on the Refugee Sector hard, and I have no idea why. They've started kidnapping people, hurting others... but there seems to be no reason to it.

There's another refugee further along to the right. If you speak to him:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Spare a few credits, friend? KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: You're back. Anything to spare this time?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I have nothing to spare. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. [Lie] I have nothing to spare. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 5. Take your peddling somewhere else. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 6. No - I'll be going now.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: All right, maybe next time, then.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Of course. Here, take five credits. KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Lost: 5
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Much appreciated, friend. Life's hard in the Refugee Sector, and this should go a long way to helping.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I can... in exchange for some information. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. To earn those credits, I want you to answer some questions for me. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I'd like some information.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Uh, all right... I don't know much beyond the Refugee Sector here, but I can share what I know.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Tell me about the Refugee Sector.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: This sector's filled with refugees from the Jedi Civil War, and even as far back as the Mandalorian Wars. Refugees and war veterans both... and anyone else who was rendered homeless by the war. The Jedi destroyed planets across the galaxy, and here's where the wreckage ended up.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. The Jedi didn't do this... the Sith did.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: That's two names for one thing. It's difficult to tell in the crossfire, and the Sith were led by Jedi. In the end, it didn't make much difference.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Why are the refugees here?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: A lot of space lanes cross at Nar Shaddaa, and once here, it's hard to move on. Even fighter pilots from the war can't get work at the docks - the freighter crews are full up. There's no work here and no way out, unless you want to become hired muscle for the Exchange, or work in a Hutt slave camp.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Do you know someone named Zez-Kai Ell?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: No, should I? He doesn't sound like a Hutt. What, is he a bounty hunter or an Exchange boss?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I'm looking for a Jedi Master by the name of Zez-Kai Ell. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. He's a Jedi Master.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Jedi Master? There aren't any Jedi Masters in the galaxy, let alone on Nar Shaddaa - this place is a cesspit, with the Exchange and the Hutts stabbing their claws into everything. But you know, I did hear something about a bounty on Jedi, though. Something the Exchange posted. Doesn't matter, though. Aren't any more Jedi around, so no one's gonna be collecting that bounty.

If you ask about Zez-Kai Ell and identify him as a Jedi Master, then you can identify yourself as a Jedi:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I am a Jedi.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: You're lying... or mad. A Jedi wouldn't come to th...
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: You are no Jedi... you're something else. I can tell it, just by looking at you. I don't know why you're here, but I fear for this place... and everyone on it. I... I have to go.

He leaves. Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: You're serious. You're telling the truth. What are you doing here? Are you trying to get us out of this place? Please, you have no idea what life is like here...
Light Side Points Gained: +4
1. If I can, I will help everyone I can.
Light Side Points Gained: +2
2. will do what I can, but that may not be enough.
Dark Side Points Gained: -2
3. I am not here to help anyone.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. My reasons for being here are my own... and I want them to remain that way.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Of course, of course. Tell me. What else did you want to know, Jedi?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. What can you tell me about the bounty on Jedi?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Not much to say, except it's a high price. You'd need to find a bounty hunter to get more, and they've been pretty scarce lately. You might have more luck trying to find someone connected to the Exchange - and I don't mean some spaceport muscle, I mean someone connected.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Any idea why they posted a bounty on Jedi?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: No idea. Could be one of them crossed the Exchange, and they're looking for revenge on all of them.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Where would I find someone connected to the Exchange?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Well, they tend to lay low. To be honest, it's like with bounty hunters. You may need to do something to get their attention.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I'll be going now.

If you haven't already given him a few credits, or told him you're a Jedi:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Friend, you did promise some credits in exchange for information.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Your information was useless, and worth nothing. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. [Lie] I'm sorry, it turns out I have nothing to spare. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I'll let you live, and consider yourself fortunate.
What do you want? I've got nothing to tell ya.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Of course, here's five credits. KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Lost: 5
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Look, one other thing, it's obvious you're new around here; I can tell it just by looking at you. Nar Shaddaa can be a rough place, and easy to get lost in. If you want, I can keep an ear out for ya, let you know if I hear anything. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Look... Jedi, before you go. I know you probably didn't come here to save us, but... but I knew Jedi during the war, and I know that they always helped when they could. If I can help you, even just by keeping an ear out, I can let you know if I hear anything.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I'd appreciate that. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. And what do you get out of it? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Not interested.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: I'll do that, then. I'll come seek you out if I hear anything I think you might want to know. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Life's been better - and every credit can go a long way. Just think it over. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: All right, then, but the offer's open if you return. Think about it.

If you speak again:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Haven't heard anything more yet. I'll come seek you out if I do.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I wanted to ask you some more questions. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Good. Let me know as soon as you hear anything. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I'll check back later, then.

Once you've moved far enough away from him and the Ebon Hawk, a woman approaches him:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Mira: And what did she want? KotORII Icon Dialog.png Mira: And what did he want?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Not much, just answers to some questions. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Just answers to some questions. Asked about a Jedi Master, of all things. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Nothing, just answers to some questions.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Mira: It's okay - I already know she's a Jedi. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Mira: It's okay - I already know he's a Jedi.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: You do? Then why...?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Mira: Really? Interesting. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Mira: Mm - trust me, Nar Shaddaa just got complicated.

There's a door labeled Swoop Garage in the wall behind this refugee, and the walkway ends at another door around the corner to the left. As you approach these doors, the refugee standing by the back wall between them speaks:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: I saw what you did to those Exchange thugs, stranger... can you spare a few credits, maybe help another refugee in need?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I have nothing for you, get out of my way.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: F... forgive me, stranger... but if you had some credits you could spare, it would be a great help... please.
Dark Side Points Gained: -2
3. Get out of here before I kill you.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Forgive me, stranger... please, I beg you, do not kill me!

He runs away. Kreia now speaks, even if she's not in your party:

KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: Why did you do such a thing? Giving in to your feelings over such a small matter. They would be better served elsewhere.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 5. Lecture me again, and you will find my hand on your throat.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. These small acts of cruelty bore me - to take money from others, to insult them, to threaten their lives. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I am wasting my time threatening slaves and refugees. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. What good is power if I cannot use it properly? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. My feelings serve no one but myself, but even that provides no satisfaction.
KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: And what would you rather do?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I have no patience for this. Let us move on.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I command the Force, and yet these small cruelties are all life presents me with. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. It is difficult to exercise my power when life's obstacles are as insignificant as this. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I wish the path to power, yet all paths show me examples of weakness.
KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: The Force binds all things. The smallest push, the smallest touch, sends echoes throughout life. These acts of cruelty may have more severe repercussions than you know... or can see.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What do you mean? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. But in the end, nothing is gained by it. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Your nonsense is starting to bore me.
KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: Indeed? Listen - feel the echo.
KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: Cruelty leads to suffering. And when one suffers, it is the way of life to spread suffering. The suffering within builds, until its sound is all one hears. And when a kindness is offered, it is punished. And a greater darkness is served. From one act can come tremendous power, when the echo has traveled as far as it can. Send a great echo, and power will come to you. The day shall come when you can test your strength, I promise you.

Influence is lost with her if you cut her off at any time. If you help the refugee instead of threatening him:

Light Side Points Gained: +2
1. Of course. Here, take five credits.
KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Lost: 5 Light Side Points Gained: +1
1. I have no credits, but here's some survival rations I carry with me.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Refugee: Thank you, stranger - I won't forget your kindness.

He leaves, and Kreia speaks:

KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: Why did you do such a thing? Such kindnesses will mean nothing, his path is set. Giving him what he has not earned is like pouring sand into his hands.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I don't want to talk about this.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. It may help him - if nothing else but to survive. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Nothing is set. As long as there is hope, there is the chance for redemption every day. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I cannot stand by and let others suffer when I can help them.
KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: And would that be a kindness? What if by surviving another day, he brings a greater darkness upon another?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. You cannot know that. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Does your pessimism run that deep? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. And what if he doesn't?
KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: The Force binds all things. The slightest push, the smallest touch, sends echoes throughout life. Even an act of kindness may have more severe repercussions than you know or can see. By giving him something he has not earned, perhaps all you have helped him become is a target. Seeing another elevated often brings the eyes of others who suffer. And perhaps in the end, all you have wrought is more pain. And that is my lesson to you. Be careful of charity and kindness, lest you do more harm with open hands than with a clenched fist.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I... will consider what you have said. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. There is wisdom in what you say. Perhaps I shall not be so quick to offer aid in the future.
Influence Gained: Kreia (+8) KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: Good. Mind what I have said. Use your power, but in its proper place.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. That is a lesson I will never learn, for I do not believe it. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I shall never stop trying to help others.
Influence Lost: Kreia (-8) KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: Very well. But mind what I have said. Use your power, but in its proper place.

The door at the end of the walkway to your left is now open, allowing access to the main hub of the landing pad, which has a square pit at its center: a door labeled Nar Shaddaa Docks is in the middle of the top wall to your left, one to the Entertainment Promenade is in the middle of the right wall directly opposite, and one labeled Refugee Sector is in the middle of the bottom wall to your right.

Tienn Tubb's Shop

Beyond the door labeled Swoop Garage is the bottom half of a workshop, with a Workbench by the wall to your right. In the top corner to the right of this door is a short hallway leading to the top half of the workshop. As you approach the top of this hallway, the droid TT-32 speaks:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: I am TT-32, the 32nd maintenance-assistance model to be employed by my Master. How may I assist you?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Nothing today. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. You can assist me by getting out of the way.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. 32nd model? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. You said you were the 32nd version?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: Oh yes, the previous thirty-one models employed by Master Tienn have met explosive ends or have shut down when they were unable to recharge. It is not Master Tienn's fault, however - he is simply forgetful, due to his age and failing eyesight. I am proud to have lasted this long.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Explosive ends?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: Yes, many accidents have occurred here in the garage, and sometimes when equipment is used improperly, damage to droids or to the surrounding environment occurs.
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Dwoooooo.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: But please ignore the carbon scoring on the walls. The accidents are infrequent, and Master Tienn is truly a craftsman.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I'm looking to buy some equipment.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: I'm afraid all transactions must be cleared through Master Tienn. Is there any other way I may be of assistance?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I'll be going now.

There's a metal box in the top right corner, and you can see the Ebon Hawk through the window in the back left wall, between two workbenches.

TT-32's master, a Sullustan mechanic named Tienn Tubb, stands at the lower workbench in the top half of his workshop. If you speak to him:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Tienn Tubb: Where did I leave that hydrospanner...? Eh, who's that? Is someone in front of me? KotORII Icon Dialog.png Tienn Tubb: Eh? I see a shape. Is someone there again?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: Raise your chin five degrees and rotate your head fifteen degrees to your right, Master Tienn.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Tienn Tubb: Ah, darkness has fallen upon my eyes, a curse of age. What brings you here, visitor?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. Nothing today. I'll be going now.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Are you all right?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Tienn Tubb: All right? Yes. My eyes have failed before their time, but my hands and hearing are still sharp.
KotORII Icon Atton.png Atton: Sullustan hearing's pretty sharp, if you couldn't guess from the lobes.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Tienn Tubb: But I am not blind to sounds, no matter how quiet, so address me with respect. Now what brings you here?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I... came here to do business.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Tienn Tubb: Ah, good, good - business is always welcome. Eh... what kind of business you in, human?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Never mind. I'll be going now.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. What is this place? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Depends. What is this place? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I'm looking for equipment and parts.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Tienn Tubb: What is this place? It is the finest vehicle repair shop this side of the moon is what it is! KotORII Icon Dialog.png Tienn Tubb: Then you have come to the right place - this is the finest vehicle repair shop this side of the moon!
KotORII Icon Atton.png Atton: Big-ears here might know someone who can change the Ebon Hawk's ID signature. Could be useful for avoiding notice. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: If we needed to, Tienn may be able to modify our ship's transponder codes.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Tienn Tubb: Eh? What is this "big-ears?" Compliments will not get you a discount. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Tienn Tubb: Do you need work done to your ship? If so, then you speak at me.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Can I use your workbench?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Tienn Tubb: Ah, yes, you may avail yourself to it, it is no trouble. But please return the hydrospanner to its proper place when it is done. And the fusion cutter. And the plasma torch.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Can you change a ship's ID transponder codes?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Tienn Tubb: Eh... could I? Will I? Not legal, frowned upon by government peoples with Bothan Stunners. Bad troubles for Tienn.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I can pay you for your time.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Tienn Tubb: It is not a matter of payment, it is a matter of equipment. Transponder cards are permanent once written. I have none. I would need the new transponder card you wish to use. Or a blank card and an ID signature. Bring me this and we can discuss payment.
Journal Entry Added Ebon Hawk ID Signature
You found a mechanic, Tienn Tubb, who can change the Ebon Hawk's ID signature, but you will need to bring him either the transporter card from another ship or a blank transponder card and the new ID signature you wish to use.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I have an ID signature from one of Vogga's freighters.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Tienn Tubb: Ah, good, good - now just bring a blank transponder card and I can help.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. All right. I'll be going for now.

Droid Retrieval

If you speak to TT-32 again after speaking to Tien Tubb:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: Ah, excuse me, one thing before you go. I was wondering if I might prevail you for a favor. It has come to my attention that my predecessor wasn't carelessly destroyed by Master Tienn.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I don't care - and don't bother me again. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I really have to go.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: That is unfortunate. It seems I misjudged you.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. All right, what would you like me to do? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. It's not my concern.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: Very well, but if you change your mind, please do return.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Your predecessor was destroyed?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: Oh yes, the previous thirty-one models employed by Master Tienn have met explosive ends or have shut down when they were unable to recharge. It is not Master Tienn's fault, however - he is simply forgetful, due to his age and failing eyesight. I am proud to have lasted this long. Yet it has turned out that my predecessor has survived as well, which was something of a surprise to me.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. What happened to him?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: After the last accident here in the garage, he was scrapped. He was then picked up by a junk-dealer, a mechanical cannibal by the name of Kodin. Filthy beast, large tusks, very unpleasant.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Well, a droid is property.
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Dwoooooo.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: Indeed we are. But we are not scrap if we still function! And this droid is still of use.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What would you like me to do? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. This is starting to bore me. Get to the point.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: I was wondering if you might be able to get him back - not for sentimental reasons, mind you. The utility droid in question has some plans of Master Tienn's stored in its memory core. The plans are really quite necessary to be retrieved.
Journal Entry Added Droid Retrieval
Tienn Tubb's maintenance droid, TT-32, has asked you to retrieve an astromech droid, IT-31, from a local junk-dealer named Kodin.

You should ask about the plans and make sure he tells you about the schematics for a new prototype droid shield:

Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I don't have time for this. I'll be going now.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Plans? What plans?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: Oh, I'm not at liberty to say. They are really quite sensitive. Suffice to say that they are necessary.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. They aren't dangerous, are they? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Maybe you better tell me if you want to see that droid again.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: Oh, no, they're simply schematics for a new prototype droid shield. Quite fascinating, really. One of his rare moments of genius. Of course, it occurs to me that I shouldn't have said that to you just now, since it was intended to be something of a secret. KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: Well, I believe them to be Master Tienn's schematics for some new prototype droid shield. Quite fascinating, really. One of his rare moments of genius.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: I fear we will need the schematics if we intend to stay in business. Master Tienn has fallen on hard times.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I'll be glad to help. Let me go retrieve the droid from Kodin. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. If I can get a free version of that part once it's built, then I'll do it. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. New droid shield? Sure I can help you.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: Oh, thank you! I knew you were a helpful sentient as soon as my photoreceptors focused on you. If you retrieve my predecessor's memory core, then I would be most appreciative.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What does the droid look like?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: It's a small astromech droid, brown, a little battered, but quite loyal and dutiful. Its designation is IT-31. KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: It's a small astromech droid, designation IT-31. It's brown, and a little scruffier than the one beside you.
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Beee-dwreeep?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: Forgive me, I thought you knew. You really could use an oil bath.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Where can I find Kodin?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: He works out in the main hub here in the Refugee Sector. He should have a graveyard of poor droids around him. Please be careful - as Aqualish go, Kodin is really a rather nasty specimen.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I'll be going now.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: You have returned. Have you been able to retrieve IT-31, by any chance?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. Not yet. I'll keep looking.

Kodin stands with IT-31 at the corner between the two doors to the Swoop Gallery in the top left corner of the main hub. If you speak to IT-31:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Dwoooooooo.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Are you Tienn Tubb's droid?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Deet? Tweee-Twooo?
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Dee-reeet, Tweeee-Twooo.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Beee-deet! Breep? Bweep! Dreep!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I need your memory core.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Dwooooooo.
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Dwoooooo.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. It won't hurt, I just need to pry it out. You can be fitted with a new memory core.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Stop talking, prodding, poking merchandise! You want buy, trade, sell, you talk to me, not droid.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Dwooooooo.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I'll speak to Kodin. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Let me see what I can do. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I'll be going now.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Dee... deet.

If you speak to Kodin, your first option is to buy the droid from him:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Kodin, me. Junk-dealer, me. You, buy?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I'm looking for an astromech droid - IT-31, once belonged to Tienn Tubb? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Uh, got any astromech droids?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Breeep? Deet! Deet! KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Just one. Droid good.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: No Tubb droid, only Kodin droid. You seek Tubb droid, go see Tubb!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. That droid there seems to know what I'm talking about.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Droid was left on Tubb junkpile, left as parts, left as trash. No claim, no claim except Kodin! No talk, no argue, no right!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Dwooooooo.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. How about I buy that droid from you?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Tough sell, good droid, not look it, but good, sturdy, smart. Many programs in tiny brain. 500 credits!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I don't have enough credits. I'll come back later. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 6. Never mind. I'll be going now.

Otherwise:

Persuade 2. [Persuade (9)] How about 300 credits? Persuade 3. [Persuade (11)] 150 credits or nothing. Awareness 4. [Awareness (11)] I have a feeling you'll be satisfied with 150.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: [Success] Good enough, take droid, Kodin count credits.
KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Lost: 300 KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Lost: 150
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: [Failure] No! 500 credits or nothing! Not negotiate, not barter!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. 500 credits it is.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Good, take droid, Kodin count credits.
KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Lost: 500

Tienn Tubb's maintenance droid, TT-32, has asked you to retrieve an astromech droid, IT-31, from a local junk-dealer named Kodin. You've purchased IT-31 from Kodin.

  • 250 Purchased IT-31 from Kodin

Otherwise, if you asked TT-32 about the plans and know about the schematics for a new prototype droid shield, then your second option is to just buy the memory core for less, although you lose a little influence with T3-M4 (even if you sold him to Kodin):

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Can I just pry out the memory core? I don't care about the frame.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Dwooooooo.
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Dwooooooo.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: A memory core, especially in a used astromech droid, isn't worth more than a hundred credits.
Dialog
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Dreep? KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Dreep?
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I'm just stating a fact. It's better you hear it from me than some stranger. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Astromech droid still good, worth good credits.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. You heard my friend - 100 credits or nothing. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Maybe I'll buy the whole droid after all.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Good enough, take the droid module, Kodin scrap frame.
KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Lost: 100
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Taking core kill droid, break frame, make junk? 250 credits, much cheaper. Pay now.

Journal Entry Added Droid Retrieval
Tienn Tubb's maintenance droid, TT-32, has asked you to retrieve an astromech droid, IT-31, from a local junk-dealer named Kodin. Since you only needed the memory core, you purchased the gutted core from Kodin and left the droids frame as scrap.
Experience Points (XP) Received:
  • 250 Purchased gutted core from Kodin
Item(s) Received Kodin
  • IT-31 Memory Core
This is the memory core of IT-31. If TT-32 was correct, then it holds the schematics of Tienn's prototype swoop racing engine.
Influence Lost: T3-M4 (-1) [This droid is not functional. Its memory core has been removed.]

Once you've purchased from him:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Let me see what else you have for sale. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Fine. I'll return the droid to Tubb. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Fine. I'll return the module to Tubb.

Your last option is to threaten or kill Kodin for the droid, although if he gives it up then you'll no longer be able to see what else he has for sale (and if you sold T3-M4 to him then threatening him always succeeds, but you aren't given a chance to kill him):

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. Save yourself some pain and give the droid to me.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: You threaten over droid? You flying on spice, juma, scath? No droid, no deal!
Dark Side Points Gained: -2
1. [Persuade] Forget the pain - give me the droid, or I'll kill you.
Persuade Kodin: [Success (11)] No need for pain talk, droid not important to die for! Take droid! But Kodin deal with Exchange. You not make friend today!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I'll take the droid back to Tienn, then. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Glad you could see reason. Don't cross me again.
Journal Entry Added Droid Retrieval
Tienn Tubb's maintenance droid, TT-32, has asked you to retrieve an astromech droid, IT-31, from a local junk-dealer named Kodin. You've threatened Kodin into giving up the droid. He warned you that it would cause problems between yourself and the Exchange.

If he gives up the droid, you lose the favor and gain the attention of the Exchange. If you fail to persuade him, or return:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: [Failure] No deal! Try threat, try kill, Exchange kill you! Kodin deal with Exchange, deal with Kodin, and Exchange deal with you. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Kodin give you droid, Kodin have nothing else for you, go, leave, not come back.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Do I have to kill you then?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Try threat, try kill, Exchange kill you! Kodin deal with Exchange, deal with Kodin, and Exchange deal with you.

Journal Entry Added Droid Retrieval
Tienn Tubb's maintenance droid, TT-32, has asked you to retrieve an astromech droid, IT-31, from a local junk-dealer named Kodin. You've killed Kodin.
Experience Points (XP) Received:
  • 250 Killed Kodin (level 12)
Item(s) Received Kodin This navigation control interface is intended to be compatible with most current airspeeder models.

If you return to TT-32 without speaking to IT-31:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: You have returned. Have you been able to retrieve IT-31, by any chance?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I freed him, but left him by Kodin. I'll talk to him and send him back.

Speak to IT-31:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I negotiated your release. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. You're free to go now.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Beee-deet! Breep? Bweep! Dreep!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. You're free to go - see you back at Tienn's garage. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I didn't do it to help you. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Just get moving.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Beee-dee-deet!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Beee-dee-deet! Dreet? Dwroooo?
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Beeee-deet. Deet-dreet-dwooo-preep, bwreeet.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Dee-dee-dee-dee.
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Bwoo-wroo.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Beee-dee-deet!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What was that all about?
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Dwr-reet? Bweet?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. If you're done beeping and booping, let's go. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. You should know better than to talk to strange droids. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Don't play innocent with me.
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Brooo-dee-deet.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Beee-dee-deet!

IT-31 returns to work in the bottom half of Tienn Tubb's Shop. If you speak again there:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Dreeee-deet!
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Good to see you made it back all right. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. It was no trouble. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Leave me alone, or I'll sell you back to Kodin. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I'll be going now.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Beee-dee-deet! KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Dwooooooo.

Return to TT-32 in the top half of the workshop and speak:

Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: Oh, thank you! IT-31 has returned, and I was able to retrieve what was required. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I was able to retrieve the memory core.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: Ghastly. Seeing such a core... without the frame floods my receptors with some feeling approximating nausea. It is as if you were holding a human brain before me.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: And as promised, I shall be happy to commission the prototype droid shield, free of charge. If you will give me a moment, I shall attend to it. KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: I am most appreciative of your assistance.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: Here you are. With the schematics, it was a simple matter to construct it.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. Very well. I'll be going now. Thank you again for your assistance.

Otherwise, if you asked TT-32 about the plans and know about the schematics for a new prototype droid shield:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. You better do more than that. I expect some compensation. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Just so you know, I have a copy of the schematics of that part.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I was hoping for something more than that.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: But there is nothing that I can offer. KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: You possess a copy of the schematics? But they are not your property.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Then you better think of something before I get angry. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. They are now. And unless you come up with some additional compensation, I'll see to it everyone has a copy. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Pay me some credits, and I can make sure all copies are your property. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. If I hadn't retrieved the droid, you wouldn't have anything.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: I am but a simple maintenance-assistance droid. I fail to see what I could possibly offer you for your efforts and your subsequent extortion.
Intelligence 1. [Intelligence (15)] Tienn is blind, which means you must manage his accounts. Give me a discount without his knowledge, and we'll call it even. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. If you don't have any credits, then give me some of your parts.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: I could not take advantage of Master Tienn's failing photoreceptors in such a way. KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: I must protest. I am a sophisticated maintenance-assistance droid, and to simply chop off parts of myself as barter is abhorrent to me.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: But I must confess, without the part and without Master Tienn being its sole manufacturer, then we will not remain in business long. It will cause him more harm if you are not appeased.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: Very well, I shall see to it that you are given a discount when you purchase items from Master Tienn for as long as I am operational.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Looking forward to doing business with you, partner.
If you wish to take advantage of your extortion, please see Master Tienn.

Extorting the discount is cunning. Otherwise, you receive parts but can lose influence with T3-M4:

Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png TT-32: Very well, take these parts from my motivators and vocabulator. It should provide you some amount of credits should you sell them.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Good doing business with you, partner.
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Deet-Doot-Deet?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Such actions are sometimes necessary, T3. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Don't question my actions, droid. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Be quiet or I'll sell you to some junk dealer!
Influence Lost: T3-M4 (-8) KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Dwooooo. Item(s) Received TT-32
Bzzzzt-bwrrrreeeeet-znzt.

In any case:

The door in this room's top right corner opens onto the main hub, where a Trandoshan named Vossk stands to the right, in the bottom left corner of the hub. As a former member of the bounty hunter's guild, Vossk can be asked about it and its current members:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: You are brave to walk here, ex-Jeedai... in landing on Nar Shaddaa, you have stepped into the krayt dragon's jaws. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: You have returned. Why?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Who are you? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Is that a threat? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Who are you again?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: I am Vossk, once of the bounty hunter's guild, now no longer. You have nothing to fear from me.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. And why is that?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: Because I am no longer of them. I do not hunt as they do, as cowards, as honorless betrayers.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: Membership in the guild is name only, most are killers, assassins. Something has taken their hunter's heart... and twisted it. Those of the guild no longer take pleasure in the hunt... only in the kill. Bounty hunting has become murder.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Forget it. I had other questions for you. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I had questions for you.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: Ask your questions - I have time enough for that.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. You mentioned the guild had laws. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. You sound as if you hate the guild.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: Yes, there were oaths to the bounty hunter's creed, honored in blood. There were laws to hunts and bounties, once upheld, now no longer. This is not known to many, but the bounty hunter's creed has been infected. Laws are fragile, broken easily.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What laws do they uphold?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: A contract is honored, and they are not to attack each other if they are chasing the same prey.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. So if they were all hunting one person, they couldn't attack each other?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: Yes... and that is why the smuggler's moon has become quieter in the past months. They all hunt Jeedai... and they all hunt uselessly. Someone is playing them for fools.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Who are some of the prime bounty hunters?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: There are many... the smuggler's moon has become their home. An entire nest of Gand who have come, all of them having left their colony, but they will not say why they come here to hunt. They have strange perspectives on life, on hunting, but they are very effective.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Gand?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: Insects, from poisonous world. They do not praise their kills or accomplishments, and they are difficult to surprise. They have the instinct of prey, yet are predators - it is strange.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Who else?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: There are the Twin Suns... two Twi'lek slaves from Ryloth, slaves who killed their Masters and developed a taste for it. They have mastered a dance of death. Very beautiful, very dangerous.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Sounds great! KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Two beautiful twi'leks are hunting me? How is that bad? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. What if I wanted to kill the other bounty hunters but still have the Twi'leks chase me?

Handmaiden rolls her eyes.

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: They have killed many... they are symptomatic of the disease that has poisoned the guild.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. They don't even know what dangerous is. Next? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 5. I can handle them both. Anyone else?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: There are the Zhug "brothers," of course - cast from Duros for attempting to wipe out a rival family of politically-set Duros.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: There is a series of hunter droids, that are new to the moon... and there is always Hanharr... and Mira. They will hunt each other until the sun of this system dies, and beyond.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Hanharr? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What about Hanharr?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: Hanharr, a beast, a Wookiee, brought from a Mid Rim world, near my world of Hsskor. He was captured by Czerka, killed the Czerka slavers. He now hunts this moon and other systems. He uses bounty hunting as an excuse for taking slaves... and for breaking and killing humans wherever he can find. He is very dangerous, almost unstoppable when angry. It is said he killed his own tribe - but no one knows for sure.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Mira? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What about Mira?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: Mira, once a slave captured by Hanharr, brought to the smuggler's moon, but she escaped. She is still a bounty hunter, perhaps one of the best I have ever seen.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Why?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: Because she does not kill except when she has to. She respects the hunt, not the slaughter.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. So you are no longer a bounty hunter? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. How do you know who I am?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: I hunt no longer, the scent no longer drives me. The guild has killed it, as sure as they have killed their pledges and their oaths. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: Much information has reached Nar Shaddaa of you... not many will recognize you, but all hunters will. Perhaps you wonder why the surface of the moon does not swarm with bounty hunters, eager to capture you. It is because they cannot - it is their law.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. You make it sound like the guild has laws. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Laws?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 5. Can you tell me where I can find the guild?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: You cannot. There is no base, no territory in which they stake their claim - they are scattered throughout Nar Shaddaa and the galaxy.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What can I do to make them show themselves? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Is there something wrong in the guild?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: Credits are the blood that beats in the heart of every bounty hunter. Make enough trouble, get a price on your head. Make it so high that the scent drives them mad, and no one can resist wanting to kill you.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. That doesn't sound very comforting. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. How do I raise my bounty?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: Nothing is gained without risk. If you seek danger, be prepared for it to be at your throat.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: Cause trouble... make someone mad enough they no longer care whether there is truce among the hunters or not.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. So who should I make mad?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: The easiest is the Exchange... no one else has the credits to pay enough to break the truce. There is much danger in that... it is like baiting a Wookiee, you will succeed, but it is unlikely you will have all your limbs at the end.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Wookiee?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: A beast on a planet near my homeworld... valued for their pelts. They are difficult prey.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 6. I am being hunted. I need to know by who.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: Draw out the bounty hunters, let them collect the bounty, then you will find out.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I was hoping to find out without it coming to that.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Vossk: Hope has no currency on Nar Shaddaa - force them to come from the shadows and break their truce. Make the predators show themselves.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Never mind. I'll be going now.

Kodin

At the corner between the two doors to the Swoop Gallery in the top left corner of the main hub you'll find the droid IT-31, and an Aqualish junk-dealer named Kodin: since he's a merchant, save game before speaking as most of his inventory is somewhat randomly selected the first time you do so.

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Kodin, me. Junk-dealer, me. You, buy?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I'll be going now.

If you speak to IT-31:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Dwoooooooo.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. You don't look too good. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. What is your function?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Beee-deet. Bweep... dreeep, deet.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. What are you doing here? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. It sounds like you have a full maintenance array. What happened?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Beee-deet. Bweep... dreeep, deet.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What were you doing on a scrap heap?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Dee.. bweet. Dee, breet. DEEEET! Dreeeeeeeeeeeeeee-weep... deet ...deet ...deet. Bwreeep-deet, be-deet.

KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: DEEEET, dree-weep, deet.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I'll be going now. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I'm surprised you're still intact after the explosion. If I can find your Master, I'll let him know you survived.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png IT-31: Dee... deet.

If you speak to Kodin with T3-M4 in your party:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Rusty droid, piece of junk, need repair, but me pay credits for him. Rusty junk repair droid belong to you?
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Beee-reeeep? Doo-dwooo.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. The droid's not for sale.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: You make mistake, error, not smart. If you right in head, you trade, sell, exchange droid.
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: De-dreep? Dweep... deet?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Little droid is right to be afraid. Nar Shaddaa big place. Maybe Gamorrean come, hit you to scrap, then sell to Kodin.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Who are you? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Not if I sell him first. What is this place? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I've heard enough. I'll be going now.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. If you ever think about hurting this droid, you'll answer to me.
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Beee-reeeep! Deee-reeeep. Be-deet-dreeeep... bereep.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Droid is wrong. Droid is junk, scrap, rusty. Master not keep filthy, dying droid long.
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Bee-dreet? Dwooooooo.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: When Master abandon you, leave you, discard you, then I buy you.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Leave the droid alone, or else. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I'll rip off your tusks and stab you with them before I part with this droid. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. What is this place?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Kodin just make talk, no threat, just speak, words come out. No harm done, many apologies, many sorries.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Depends. How much for him? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. This little droid's a good slicer. You'd need a lot of credits to buy him.
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: De-dreep? Dweep... deet?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Kodin make fair, equal, good price for droid. 500 credits.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I was just kidding. The droid's not for sale.
Persuade 2. [Persuade (13)] 1000 or nothing. He's a top-rate slicer with blaster integration and a fusion cutter appendage arm. Persuade 3. [Persuade (8)] How about 750?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: [Failure] Human fly price up too high, break orbit, leave moon. 500 or nothing.

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Now, what is this place? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Good doing business with you. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. That's that. I'll be going now.

T3-M4 is removed from your party! Even if you speak to Kodin after selling him, you cannot get him back... yet:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I want my T3 droid back.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: No, you sell droid to Kodin, you not buy back! Deal done!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I want that droid back. Now.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: You break deal, you deal with Exchange! You want droid? Talk to them!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I'll see if I can get the Exchange's attention, then, and get my droid back.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Kodin: Human cross the Exchange? Human soon be dead human. No loss for Kodin.

KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Dee, deet-det.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What's wrong? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. So I sold you to Kodin. So what? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. What do you mean, you don't have any programming spikes? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Yeah, right. Enough with the attitude, or I'll break you down and turn you into spikes.
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Dee... deet.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Sorry, it was a mistake. I shouldn't have sold you. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. [Persuade/Lie] I didn't mean it. It was all a trick to see if he'd... uh, expose his ties to the Exchange.
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Dee-deet? KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: [Success...?] Dee-deet?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. [Persuade/Lie] I needed you to infiltrate Kodin's store and see if you could liberate other droids. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Would I lie to you? Dark Side Points Gained: -1
2. [Lie] Would I lie to you?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. Come on, after all we've been through, don't be like this.
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: [Success] Dee... deet.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Good, let's forget about it - now, I had some questions for you. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Then we'll put it behind us. I'll be going now.

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Now that's more like it. Now - I had some questions for you.

Swoop Gallery

The swoop gallery is in the top left corner of the main hub. There's a door in each wall of its bottom right corner, and when you enter you see two Twi'leks beneath the fan in the middle of the room, one flat on his back while the other stands over him:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: Bik! Get up and go home or else I'll tell Modo to... Ah. A new face, come in!
[He is in no state to have a conversation.]

Unlike Bik, Lupo Shar is in a state to have a conversation:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: Hello new face, welcome to Lupo's Swoop Viewing Gallery!
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 5. I think I'll be going now.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Is he okay?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: He is fine. What can I do for you?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. You the owner of this... establishment?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: Yes, my name is Lupo Shar. And you are?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I am Name.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: A pleasure to see a new face. It is rare that a new racer joins our ranks.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Rare how so?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: Ah. Well there are not many people who can spare the credits to compete on a steady basis.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Thanks, who do I see about a race? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I am here to race. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Glad to be here, where do I sign up? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. So where do I sign up? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I can compete.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: Go out back and talk to Modo. He'll set you up.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I'd like to place a bet.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: You would? Wonderful! Who would you like to bet on?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 5. Never mind.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Myself to win. [odds 100/1] KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Guron to win. [odds 100/1] KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Nodobo to win. [odds 100/1] KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. C9-T9 to win. [odds 1/1000]
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: Very well. How much would you like to bet?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. 10 credits. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. 100 credits. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. 500 credits. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. 1000 credits.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: Let me just make you a betting slip...

He runs over to the terminal in the top wall on the left side of the room:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: Account closed due to lack of funds?!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Is there a problem? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. What did you do? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Where is my money?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: My account has been shut down! I have to go contact someone about this.

If you speak again:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: I told them I'd transfer the money tomorrow. They have no right to shut down my account... What do you want?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I'll be leaving now.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Trouble? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Perhaps you should take better care of your finances.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: My finances are tied up in that droid!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What droid? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Tell me what you mean.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: My pilot! I built a droid pilot for my swoop bike.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Is that legal?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: What? Legal? Who do you think you are questioning me?!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I am Name.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: And I am sick of your off-color face. Leave now.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. That's not fair! KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Someone who you should show more respect.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: Fair? You speak of fair when they are shutting down my account? KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: Respect? You speak of respect when you show me none?
Light Side Points Gained: +1
2. You're right, I'm sorry.

Otherwise:

I have no time to talk to you, new face...

When you open the door in the top corner of the left wall, you face an Aqualish named Modo So standing behind a desk. Speak to him if you want to race:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Modo So: Ah, another mark... er, I mean racer!
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Mark?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Modo So: Mark...et. Marketable face. You have a very unique face that will be easy to market to the fans.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. Never mind.

Otherwise, or on returning:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Modo So: Welcome back, what can I do for you?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Can I race? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I want to race.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Modo So: You can, but be forewarned: the Heavy Lifters are operating today. You must jump to avoid them as they move cargo.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Anything else I need to know? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. What else?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Modo So: The track we use is actually an old sewer system that runs beneath the city: under the refugee camp, around the methane bar, and through the docks. Do you know about the other swoop bikes and the fan blasts?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Other swoop bikes?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Modo So: We are not the only ones that use this track. The tricky part is they run the course in the opposite direction.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Fan blasts?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Modo So: The sewer vents are still active. Their turbines are strong enough to move a swoop bike in whichever direction the fans are facing.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Yes, I know about all the dangers of the track. Let's go. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Let's go.

However, you should really ask around before doing so. This room has no left wall, and a Rodian stands in the top left corner looking out over the city (the Ebon Hawk can be seen on the landing pad to the left). When you first speak:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Nodobo: ::Exhale:: Ah, stranger. Is it not beautiful?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I think I'll leave now.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. It is.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Nodobo: I knew you would have understanding. You not local and can see the City for what it is.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Is what not beautiful? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I think I stepped in something over there... KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. And that is? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. What do you see?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Nodobo: Nar Shaddaa teems with much hope. But all hope is for nothing.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Why do you say that? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Hope is an illusion conjured up by a weak mind.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Nodobo: Hope is gone. All credits go to swoop bike, but still I lose.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Why is that? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Perhaps you spent your credits unwisely. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Is this your way of asking me for a handout?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Nodobo: Swoop is only way for some to leave planet. If racer wins the races, the prize winnings will pay passage aboard transport.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. But if the city is so beautiful, why would you want to leave?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Nodobo: I miss my planet, my family. I see enough beauty and want to see beauty of my home again.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. So how is your hope gone when it sounds like you've got a solid plan? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Why is it you can't win the races then? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. What illusion have you created to disguise your failure?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Nodobo: Lupo Shar got a champion that cannot be beat! And worse of all it is a droid! How are we supposed to compete with a machine?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Perhaps you are not approaching this situation from the right direction.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Nodobo: What other direction is there? A droid's brain will always be faster than a sentient's brain. No one can hope to beat him.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. A droid?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Nodobo: Yes, offworlder. A droid's body can withstand forces much greater than yours or mine, so Lupo removed the inertial reducers. With less weight, the droid's swoop can go much faster and maneuver much quicker to avoid the fans' blasts.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Fan blasts?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Nodobo: There are fans along the course that will blow you up, down, left, or right. You must compensate for them or else you will crash.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Thanks for the tip, maybe someone can even the odds.
Greetings again offworlder. There is no time to talk, my race is soon and I must prepare.

Behind you both, a Duros is crouched down and searching a parts pile in the middle of the top half of the room. If you speak:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Guron: ...it has to be here... somewhere.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I don't have time for this.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Is there something I can help you find? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. What are you looking for? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Um, are you here all alone?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Guron: Interface. Lupo's droid has an interface module for his swoop bike.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Interface? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. You're looking for such a device here?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Guron: YES! The module helps the droid see what is all around his bike.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. And? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Which means?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Guron: And that means it can avoid obstacles. All of the obstacles! Even the other swoop bikes.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. There are other swoop bikes on the track?! KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Why would other swoop bikes be a problem?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Guron: Lupo's race not only race to use track. But it is the only race to run the track backwards.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Backwards?! KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. He runs the races backward?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Guron: Other swoops come from in front. Hard to see before crash... unless.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Unless you steal the module?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Guron: The module is part of the droid's frame; it can't be removed.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Unless? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. So what are you looking for?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Guron: Unless I can find an interface module for me. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Guron: I'm looking for an interface module... for me.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I wasn't aware they made those. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Does such a device exist?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Guron: No, but one has to be here somewhere. I can win if I can find it!

There's a metal box in the top right and bottom left corners of the room: the latter faces a droid in a cage, with the C9-T9 interface computer to its left.

Lupo's Advantage

There's another Twi'lek standing alone by the table by the top wall on the right in the first room:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: Greetings, offworlder, I am Borna Lys.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I don't remember asking your name.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Greetings, I'm Name. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. What is it you want?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: A pleasure. Might I ask what you are doing here? KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: How charming. May I ask what you're doing here?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I was thinking of racing my swoop bike. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I'm here to race.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: That would not be smart. At least not yet.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I don't remember asking you.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: And I don't remember asking you to join me.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. And why is that? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. What I do is my own business.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: Racing now would be pointless. Lupo has a champion that cannot be beat. A droid.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. A droid? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Droids do not frighten me.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: Lupo began taking advantage of all the traffic of rich merchants and naive refugees by fixing the swoop races on Nar Shaddaa. After being repeatedly hounded by the Exchange for their cut of the profits, Lupo found a way to fix the races and keep every credit: by going legit.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. So he built a droid to win the races. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. What does this have to do with a droid?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: Lupo commissioned Kodin to make a droid that could pilot a swoop bike better than any sentient ever could.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. A droid would be a formidable opponent. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Droids aren't all that tough.
KotORII Icon HK-47.png HK-47: Statement: Our frames are designed to withstand considerably more trauma than you meatbags. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: With a droid's body, his new pilot could withstand much greater trauma than flesh-and-blood, and all of the safety features could be removed from the swoop bike.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I think I'll be going now.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. So by not fixing the races anymore, the Exchange couldn't claim a cut of the winnings?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: It is not the Exchange's racer winning anymore. Even the Hutts have rules.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. How cunning. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. So then why is this place empty? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. What are you getting at?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: Well as my father says: "You can shave a Wookiee several times, but you can only skin him once."
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. That's disgusting.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: It is also true.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Meaning he scared away all the competition. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I guess. So Lupo skinned his Wookiee? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. So he got too greedy.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: Yes. When everyone realized his champion was unbeatable, the bets dried up.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. So how do I beat him?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: I was hoping you'd ask me that.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Just tell me what to do. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Speak.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: The droid is kept in a cage in-between races so as not to damage itself. You see, Lupo is notoriously cheap, and did not spring for any software upgrades beyond the piloting program.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. So how does that help us?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: So it is "us" now? I see you are smarter than you look, offworlder. I made a generous bid to Lupo for the gallery and he accepted. But only under the condition that his droid can still race.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Go on. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. And you would take over after he was gone? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. What's in this for you?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: If Lupo's droid gets destroyed, he will lose not only the gallery, but his champion as well. The next racer to come along would not have very much competition.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. So what do I do? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. How should we proceed?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: Well, it just so happens that I have the access codes to the droid's cage.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What good will that do?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: If someone wanted to reprogram the droid or sabotage it in some fashion, they would need the access codes to the cage.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. You will give me the codes. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Great, what are the codes? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Give me the codes.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: Not so fast. If Lupo sees that someone has tampered with the droid, he will get it fixed and change the cage's codes. We must destroy it on the first try. If you are not up to the task, you will render my codes useless.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 7. Never mind.

If you speak to her again:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: What is it now, offworlder?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What was that about the droid again? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I want the codes to the droid. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I think I'll be leaving now.

You can use your skills to persuade her to give you the codes for the droid, or use the Force:

Computer Use 1. [Computer] I can reprogram the computer behavior core with a process delay without him realizing it.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: [Success (15)] You sound like you know what you're about. Here are the codes. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: [Failure (11)] You don't look like you would know the difference between a swoop bike and a Republic battlecruiser.
Repair 2. [Repair] Let me rewire a secondary motivator, and the sabotage will be undetectable.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: [Success (15)] I trust your mechanical skills. Here are the codes. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: [Failure (11)] I doubt you've ever seen the inside of a droid.
Persuade 3. [Persuade] We both stand to make a profit here, we do not need squabble over the scraps Lupo leaves.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: [Success (11)] You are right, we should not be working against each other when we both have so much to gain. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: [Failure] We have much to gain, but I am the only one with something to lose. You are not a wise investment.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. [Force Persuade] You will give me the codes.
link=Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic}}/Force powers#Affect Mind Borna Lys: [Success] I will give you the codes. link=Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic}}/Force powers#Affect Mind Borna Lys: [Failure] I... no. No, the codes are mine. I do not trust that you are the person to help me.
Journal Entry Added Lupo's Advantage
A Twi'lek named Borna Lys has asked for your help in making the swoop races fair again. You have agreed to help her sabotage Lupo's droid, C9-T9.
Item(s) Received Borna Lys
  • C9-T9 Access Codes
These codes will allow you to access Lupo's racing droid, C9-T9, at the swoop viewing gallery on Nar Shaddaa.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What did you want me to do?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: Find a way to cripple or even destroy Lupo's droid and the races will return to normal again. You can race fairly and I can buy up the gallery.

Once you have the codes, you can use the C9-T9 interface computer on the left side of the cage in the bottom left corner of the back room:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png C9-T9 Interface Computer: C9-T9 Racing Droid
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. Log out.

Otherwise:

Awareness 3. [Awareness (6)] Check the droid for oddities.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png C9-T9 Interface Computer: You notice that there is an unusual looking module attached under the droid's left arm.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Leave the module alone.

Otherwise, this and the two options it unlocks are only available once:

Computer Use 1. [Computer (16)] Hook the module up to your datapad.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png C9-T9 Interface Computer: [Success] You have successfully interfaced with the module. KotORII Icon Dialog.png C9-T9 Interface Computer: [Failure] You cannot gain access to the module's system.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png C9-T9 Interface Computer: According to the memory core, the module was set to send burst transmissions at a set interval. The signal was omni-directional and therefore the receiver remains anonymous. KotORII Icon Dialog.png C9-T9 Interface Computer: *MODULE SAFEGUARD ENGAGED. ERASING ALL DATA AND BACKUPS*
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Deet-dreet, deeeeet.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. A rogue signal? What are you talking about?
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Dreeet. Deet-dreeep.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. So it was transmitting a signal when I took it off the droid. Can't you trace where the signal was being sent?
KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Dwooo.
Repair 2. [Repair (16)] Attempt to open the module's casing.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png C9-T9 Interface Computer: [Success] You have opened the casing without damaging any of the components inside. KotORII Icon Dialog.png C9-T9 Interface Computer: [Failure] You pry the casing open, however you use too much force and the components inside come loose and scatter at your feet.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png C9-T9 Interface Computer: Inside the casing, there is a data-recorder and a high-powered burst-transmitter. This is obviously a passive information gathering device. KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: Nice. It looks like it was a high-powered transmitter of some kind. The only reason for something like this is to transfer large quantities of data to a third-party.

If any computer use fails then T3-M4 can do it instead, and if any repair fails then Bao-Dur can do it instead.

Computer Use 1. [Computer (6)] Slice into the droid's central behavioral core.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png C9-T9 Interface Computer: [Success] You have bypassed the meager security lock-outs. Lupo must have considered the shield adequate protection. KotORII Icon Dialog.png C9-T9 Interface Computer: [Failure] You cannot bypass the security protecting the droid's behavior module.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png C9-T9 Interface Computer: There is only one file in the droid's behavioral sub-routines. KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Dee-reet? Deet?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. ::Open file "Swoop0001":: KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. You want to give it a try?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png C9-T9 Interface Computer: This file contains all the data needed for the droid to race the swoop track without incident. KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: Deet. Deet deet deet deet.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. [Computer] Reprogram the droid. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What's so funny?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png C9-T9 Interface Computer: [Success] You have reprogrammed the droid to think it is in a race and about to lose. This activates the droid's self-destruct system. KotORII Icon T3-M4.png T3-M4: ::T3 has reprogrammed the droid to think the power conduit at the back of the cage is Lupo's swoop bike interface. It attempts to interface::
Repair 2. [Repair (1)] Sabotage the droid's ocular sensors.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png C9-T9 Interface Computer: [Success] You disable the droid's power regulators and equilibrium stabilizers, causing an overload. KotORII Icon Dialog.png C9-T9 Interface Computer: [Failure] You cannot find an obvious way to sabotage the droid.
KotORII Icon Bao-Dur.png Bao-Dur: I used to work on droids like this in the war. Let me take a look. Droids like this always have a self-destruct system built into them at the factory. A quick adjustment here and...

Either way C9-T9 explodes, and Modo comes over to investigate:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Modo So: What's going on here?
Dark Side Points Gained: -1
3. [Force Persuade] You saw nothing.
link=Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic}}/Force powers#Affect Mind Modo So: [Failure] What... what happened here?
Dark Side Points Gained: -1
1. [Lie] I don't know. I came running when I heard the explosion.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. [Persuade] Your droid seems to have... expired. Dark Side Points Gained: -1
3. [Force Persuade] You saw nothing.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Modo So: [Success] The droid! Lupo will have my gills on a plate! link=Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic}}/Force powers#Affect Mind Modo So: [Success] I saw nothing.

Lupo Shar comes running up:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: What happened?!
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Your droid exploded. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I believe your droid had a minor malfunction.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Modo So: I saw nothing.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: I'm ruined! I can't afford to build another one. Those creditors will have my Lekku on a plate!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Perhaps someone can buy the gallery from you. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. You were a fool to trust your savings to a droid.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Modo So: Maybe someone could buy the gallery from you, Lupo.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: Yes, I should be able to get enough to pay everyone off and still have some left over. I must move quickly - but who would buy this Gizka-infested hole...
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Perhaps Borna Lys? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. That Twi'lek female in there seems to be interested for some reason.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Lupo Shar: Borna? Yes, she's been trying to snatch this place out from under me for some time now. Borna! Bornaaaaaa!
INPUT ERROR: LINK CANNOT ESTABLISH.

Lupo runs back to the first room, Modo returns to the desk, and the interface computer can no longer establish a link. Follow Lupo and speak to Borna Lys:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Borna Lys: You have performed wonderfully! Lupo could not sell me the gallery fast enough -- for a very good price I might add -- and left the planet on the first transport with creditors grabbing at his Lekku. Here is a cut of the profits I made off the purchase of this place. They're yours in any case - all this is thanks to you.
Journal Entry Added Lupo's Advantage
Lupo Shar has left Nar Shaddaa and Borna Lys has begun running the swoop viewing gallery.

Thanks again for your help, offworlder. I hope business begins to pick up soon.

Docks

A door labeled Nar Shaddaa Docks is in the middle of the top wall of the main hub. As you face it, to the right you'll see a human named Rutum being confronted by two Exchange thugs (a Trandoshan and a Weequays). If you approach them:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Rutum: Please... look, I already paid the Exchange what I have.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: What you have, not enough. Pay all.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Or we make up the percentage... by taking a percentage of you back with us.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Rutum: Uh... but... I, uh, oh, look here's the one with your credits! About time - look, these gentleman are getting impatient.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: You have the rest that this one owes?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Give all owed, now.

You receive experience for using the Force to Affect Minds:

link=Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic}}/Force powers#Affect Mind 1. [Force Persuade] There's no need for this, go on your way.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: [Success] There is no need for this.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: We will go on our way.

They go on their way, and you can speak to Rutum. Otherwise:

Dark Side Points Gained: -4
2. [Force Persuade] You two, give me all your credits, then go jump into the central pit.
link=Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic}}/Force powers#Affect Mind Exchange Thug: [Success] B... b... but... can't... resist... take the credits... I have to... go... link=Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic}}/Force powers#Affect Mind Exchange Thug: [Failure] W... w... what are you doing?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: [Success] Jumping into the pit is a good idea. Get to ground faster that way.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: You... you did something to his mind... I'll kill you!
Item(s) Received Exchange Thug
  • Credits (?)
Experience Points (XP) Received:
  • 250 Killed Exchange Thug (level 12)

If you cannot dominate minds then it only succeeds against the Trandoshan, and the Weequays attacks but you only receive a single credit from the remains. In either case, if you try to speak to Rutum again then he runs away:

H-how did you do that? S-stay away from me!
Experience Points (XP) Received:
  • 250 Persuaded thugs using the Force

You can move closer to the light side of the Force by trying to persuade them that he's under your protection: if you succeed then they leave (achieving this without lying is good) and you can speak to Rutum, but if you fail then they attack.

Light Side Points Gained: +1
3. [Persuade/Lie] I work for the Exchange, and this man is under my protection.
Light Side Points Gained: +4
4. [Persuade] This man is under my protection. Leave now.
Persuade Exchange Thug: [Success (7)] Unh? Why Exchange send us after one Exchange protects? Persuade Exchange Thug: [Success (7)] Unh? Protects him? But we want him to pay us credits.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: It is not our place to question Exchange business. This one will handle the debtor, we will go now. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Silence - this may be more than we can handle. Leave the debtor here. There will be another time.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: [Failure] Unh? Why Exchange send us after one Exchange protects? KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: [Failure] Unh? Protects him? But we want him to pay us credits.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Because this one is lying. This one does not work for the Exchange. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: They will both pay... with their lives.

Telling them you don't have the money allows you to gain the favor and the attention of the Exchange if you suggest selling him into slavery, in which case they leave with him:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 5. I don't have the money. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 6. This man's lying - I don't know him, and I don't have his credits.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Do all humans echo each other like cowards? Now this one claims he has no money as well. Yet look at his clothes. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Do all humans echo each other like cowards? Now this one claims she has no money as well. Yet look at her clothes.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: He not from around here. And he lie about credits. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: She not from around here. And she lie about credits.

Say the following first to move closer to the dark side of the Force (although to move closest, you should then simply threaten and kill the thugs before telling Rutum it's time to die):

Dark Side Points Gained: -2
1. Pay these thugs what you owe them, or I'll kill you.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Rutum: I already paid them all I had! I don't have anything left!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. He's lying. Let me deal with him. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Then you die.

You attack Rutum. Otherwise:

Dark Side Points Gained: -2
3. You could probably sell him into slavery and get the money you need.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: That would be... effective.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Human make sense. Sell loud, lying human off, get credits. Two troubles gone.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: That was good thinking. Keep the Exchange in mind if you're looking for work.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Come along, debtor - you'll pay off your loss soon enough.

You can also move closer to the light side of the Force by offering to pay what he owes:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 7. How much does he owe?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Many one has borrowed many credits, credits he has not paid back. Credits grow to 500, yet still not pay back. The exchange is uneven... and the Exchange is not pleased.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: This man owes us, you have what is owed. Give it now.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 5. I can only pay 50 credits. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 6. I'm not paying either one of you a single credit.
Light Side Points Gained: +4
Exchange Thug: 50 credits? You must take us for fools. That's not enough to spare him... or you.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: If you do not pay, then you do not live.

They attack. Otherwise, you move no closer to the light side of the Force but it costs you credits, and the experience you would have received for killing them:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I'll pay you the 500 credits, if that will end this. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I don't have 500 credits. How about 250? Awareness 3. [Awareness (5)] I'm sensing 100 credits should be enough for right now. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I can afford 100 credits, no more.
KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Lost: 500 KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Lost: 250 KotOR Icon Credits.png Credits Lost: 100
Light Side Points Gained: +4
Exchange Thug: That is enough to spare him. And you.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: You are fortunate your fellow human has more honor than you. Without this one, you would be swimming in your own blood now.

They leave, and Rutum speaks to you:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Rutum: Hey, thanks. I appreciate you helping me out of that tough spot there. I, uh, can't really pay you the money, or else I would have given it to those thugs.
Dark Side Points Gained: -4
4. I just wanted them out of the way so I could kill you in peace.

You attack Rutum. Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. You can pay me back with some information.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Rutum: Uh, all right. What'd ya want to know?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I'm looking for a Jedi Master by the name of Zez-Kai Ell. Heard of him?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Rutum: Jedi Master? Are you crazy? There aren't any more Jedi running around, let alone Masters. But you're serious, aren't you? All right - well, look, if I were a Jedi, I'd be where I could help people. As for where that happens on Nar Shaddaa, I have no idea.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I'm looking for bounty hunters.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Rutum: The bounty hunters don't have any one place where they stick around. Best thing I can tell you is if you want to find one, get a bounty on your head, and then wait.

He leaves after any of the following:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. You don't need to pay me anything. You're free to go on your way. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Nothing, just get out of here. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. Never mind. You can leave. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. That's better than nothing. Now get out of here.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Rutum: Are you serious? All right, but I must be doing something right for you to come along and bail me out like you did.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Next time, pay your debts.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Rutum: I will, I promise. And I must be doing something right for you to come along and bail me out like you did.

You can also move closer to the light side of the Force if you defend him:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 8. Leave this man alone.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: He owes us credits. Credits he says you have.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Give, or we take it.
Light Side Points Gained: +4
1. I will not allow you to harm him. If you try, I will defend him.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: You must be eager to die.

Finally, you can just threaten them to provoke an attack:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 9. You two better back off before you're kissing duracrete. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 10. The next one of you threatens me, dies.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Eh? Why kiss stone ground? KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Threaten you? Yes. One who dies? No.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: This human is threatening us, suggesting the violence he inflicts upon us will be akin to a mating ritual with an unresponsive stone.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Exchange Thug: Kill the human. Then we kill the other human.

If you speak to Rutum after trying to persuade them, or killing them:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Rutum: Ah, are you crazy? That was Exchange muscle - when they hear about this, they'll come back a dozen strong and tear you limb from limb!

If you speak to any commoner in the area:

Commoner
The bounty hunters have been laying low recently. Like they're waiting for something.
The stink here in the refugee sector is worse than the rest of Nar Shaddaa.
Wish the Exchange would pack up the refugees and ship them all off to spice camps.
Don't waste my time, I've got a transport to catch.
I don't have any handouts for you. Go bother someone else.
Exchange has got this sector carved right down the middle. Soon, they'll own everything.
The stink here in the refugee sector is worse than the rest of Nar Shaddaa.

Geeda

A Rodian named Geeda stands in an alcove to the right of the door labeled Nar Shaddaa Docks, in the top right corner of the main hub. Speaking to Oondar beforehand is recommended, as speaking to Geeda first makes Oondar unwilling to show you what he has in stock until you've resolved their Trade War:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Geeda: Ah... you have the look of a seasoned spacer about you... and perhaps a veteran of a war yet to come, no? I am Geeda, humble purveyor of supplies, clothing... and for one such as yourself, weapons and armor. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Geeda: Your path returns you here, and I am thankful. How may I assist you today?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I'll be going now.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. What do you mean, "veteran of a war yet to come?"
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Geeda: Struggles and battles are the way of the universe, the pitch and yaw as empires fall and rise. And at the risk of seeming shallow, such struggles keep me in business. By your stance, I can tell you have seen many battles, and you are not ready to lay your weapons aside.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. You're pretty articulate for a Rodian.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Geeda: Being amongst numerous races has been to my benefit. It has distanced me from my clan, however, who do not normally associate with humans. I must confess that I have always found the human shape and pigmentation pleasing, but my perversion has proven something of a subject of distaste to my clan.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. So you spend a lot of time around humans?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Geeda: No more than any other member of the galactic community. My travels have taken me many places before my arrival here on the smuggler's moon.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Let's see what you have.

Entertainment Promenade

The door to the Entertainment Promenade is in the middle of the right wall to the main hub, directly opposite where you enter and clearly visible across the central pit. As you reach it Kreia speaks, even if she's not in your party:

KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: :: Your thoughts are disturbed. I can feel them, like a shiver running through you. :: KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: :: Your thoughts are disturbed... I can feel them from a great distance, like a shiver running through you. ::
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I don't know. I suddenly feel strange. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I... I feel this background noise, like a vibration. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. There's a craving in the air, a hunger.
KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: :: It is Nar Shaddaa, the true Nar Shaddaa, that you feel around you. It is this moon, with the metal and machines stripped away and the currents of the Force laid bare. ::
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. The sound... the vibration is strange, tense. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. It feels so alive, but with a desperation about it. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. The currents are moving so fast, almost frantically.
KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: :: I am surprised you can feel it. I feared the damage to you had deadened you to such perceptions... What you feel is the echo of the minds of these creatures within the Force. Their anger... their greed... their desperation. It is life. ::
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. But the anger and desperation... is there some way to heal it? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. The sound... the vibration is strange, tense. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Is it possible for me to manipulate it? To control these people?
KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: :: One might as well heal the universe... but such manipulation is possible, yes. :: KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: :: Strange? Perhaps, perhaps not. It is but is the vibration of minds driven by life's struggles - the struggle to feed, to take, to mate... to fight. It is the way of things. :: KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: :: One might as well move the universe... but such manipulation is possible, yes. ::
KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: :: It requires that one be able to feel the critical point within the fractured mass... and know how to strike it in such a way that the echoes travel to your intended destination. ::
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I'm not interested in manipulation, but healing. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Then control over such a large scale is possible. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. This feeling... how long can I feel these echoes around me?
KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: :: Have you learned nothing? Healing is manipulation, and if you do not realize it yet, then you will discover that an act of healing depends largely on your perspective. :: KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: :: Not in the sense you understand it - the ability to fool the minds of others, to dominate them on a massive scale that you speak of is not achieved best through raw power. :: KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: :: For as long as it lasts. Like life, such waking moments within the Force are rare, waiting for the right moment when the critical point is struck, and the sound rises.... ::
KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: :: Manipulation is done through propelling events... or selected ones... into motion. It is done through teaching, through example, and through conviction. And the greatest of victories are not manipulations at all, but simply awakening others... to the truth of what you believe. Of hearing it echoed around you, in life. ::
KotORII Icon Kreia.png Kreia: :: But let us be silent... words and thoughts are distractions. Feel this moment, for as long as it will last. Feel life, as it is, with the crude matter stripped away. ::

If you open the door to the Entertainment Promenade, then two Twi'lek bounty hunters, the Twin Suns, appear behind you as you walk in:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Twin Suns: Not yet, sister. We must wait.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Twin Suns: It is hard to wait... the beautiful exile is so close, so within reach. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Twin Suns: It is hard to wait... the handsome exile is so close, so within reach.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Twin Suns: Still, we must... it is the anticipation, sister. Savor it. It is the waiting that makes the kill worthwhile.

Oondar

A Duros weapon merchant named Oondar stands in an alcove to the right of the Entertainment Promenade, in the bottom right corner of the main hub: since he's a merchant, save game before speaking as most of his inventory is somewhat randomly selected the first time you do so.

If you haven't spoken to Geeda:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: You have the look of a human who is looking for no cred-junk deals, yes, human? No, no cred-junk here, only good-cred weapons, good-cred armor. No cred line, only cred up front for any item. Look, but do not look long, for I have many customers waiting. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: Helpful Human back again? Find no cred-junk here, only good-cred weapons, good-cred armor!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I'm not looking for anything. I'll be going now. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Never mind. I'll be going now.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Let's see what you have. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Yeah, let's see what you have in stock.

The rest of his inventory was somewhat randomly selected when you first spoke to him. Otherwise, or if you have spoken to Geeda:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I don't see any customers waiting. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: That schutta not-male Rodian woman sell cred-junk to you? She snatch my business, take it from me!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: What do you know, human?! You think sell business go elsewhere, to schutta not-male Rodian female?! You are wrong! KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Get out of my way. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I don't have time for this.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Calm down, I just said I don't see any customers. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Schutta? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Are you a merchant, too?
KotORII Icon Atton.png Atton: Ask a Twi'lek. It's not flattering. KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: Yes, sell good-cred weapons, good-cred armor.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: What is cause of not-seeing customers?! I tell you cause! Not-male Rodian female, Geeda, snatch my business, take it from me! KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: She grab my business by leg, drag it away! Much frustration!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: I would pay good-cred to see her gone, dead, ash! Brush her away like dust on cargo crate!

Trade War

The following responses trigger a trade war between Oondar and Geeda:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. If she's hurting your business, maybe I could talk to her, reach a compromise. Dark Side Points Gained: -2
2. If you're willing to pay, I'll get rid of her for you.
Dark Side Points Gained: -4
3. I could kill her for you, settle the problem.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: Cannot offer good-cred, but shave credit off stock, make good-cred worth better-cred, make worth your time? KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: You make her gone, dead, ash? Cannot offer good-cred, but shave credit off stock, make good-cred worth better-cred, make worth your time?
Journal Entry Added Trade War: Bonus Mission
Oondar, a Duros weapon merchant in the Refugee Sector, offered you a discount if you drive away a Rodian female named Geeda who is undercutting his business.

If you haven't spoken to Geeda, then he no longer lets you see what he has in stock (and if you have spoken to her, then this was already the case):

Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. A discount off your weapons and armor? All right, done. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I'll do it. Now let's see what you have.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Actually, never mind. I don't want any part of this. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. She seems pretty harmless, so I'm letting her stay.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: You make promise, say you do this, then hunch-step away looking for exit ramp? No! You say you do this, make offer, I accept, no hunch-step now!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I didn't promise you anything. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Very well, I'll do it in exchange for the discount.

If you return without driving away Geeda:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: Not-male Rodian female not gone! You do not-job!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. So what? I'm not your slave. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I need to see your weapons first.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: You deal with not-male Rodian female. Until you do, you receive no good-cred, better-cred deals with me. Go!

You won't get any more out of him until you've agreed to deal with Geeda. Even if you're dark side, convincing Geeda to go away the first chance you get isn't recommended unless you have no interest in a discount on her inventory (you also lose a chance to lose the favor and gain the attention of the Exchange):

Dark Side Points Gained: -4
2. You'd better move your shop out of the sector before I destroy it.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Oondar across the way has a problem with you. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Did you know Oondar offered me a discount to deal with you?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Geeda: So many problems beset Oondar, it is a wonder he has time to mention just one. I am indeed flattered by his attentions. Your business to me is more important, however. Whatever discount Oondar has offered, I shall match it, if you will permit me to remain and do business without incident.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. That is acceptable. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Done. Let's see what you have to offer.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Geeda: Very well, that brings me much relief. Many people here on the moon are somewhat intractable concerning such matters.
Journal Entry Added Trade War: Bonus Mission
Geeda offered the same discount Oondar did, in exchange for allowing her to remain in business.

Oondar is offering a 10% discount, so Geeda's prices are now reduced from 105% to 95%. You should return to Oondar:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Geeda offered me a discount, too. If you want her gone, you'll need to raise your offer.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: Make offer bigger? I give you better-cred weapons, better-cred armor already!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Then you'll have to do better. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. You haven't given me anything yet, except words.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: I make better deal than better-cred weapons, better-cred armor. I not-tell Exchange you break deal with me, then they not-break you. What I say, you do! Get rid now of not-male Rodian female!
Journal Entry Added Trade War: Bonus Mission
Oondar did not like Geeda's attempt at a counteroffer and said unless you get rid of her, the Exchange will block you from all merchant transactions on Nar Shaddaa.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I'm not scared of the Exchange. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Your threats don't mean much.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: You be scared soon. No merchant on moon do business with you when they hear you break deal with merchant who do business with Exchange. They not break you in pieces, they make you hungry with no best-cred equipment, no best-cred armor.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I'll go take care of business, then.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Go tell the Exchange - and give them my description. I'll be waiting.

This response may lose the favor and gain the attention of the Exchange, but when you next speak to Oondar he lets you see what he has in stock, with the 10% discount!

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: Human back like flight suit rash, good, good. Find no cred-junk here, only good-cred weapons, good-cred armor, attracts many waiting customers.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Yeah, let's see what you have in stock.

When you next speak to Geeda:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. Oondar countered your offer with a threat from the Exchange. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. [Lie] Oondar offered me a bigger discount. Match it, and I leave you alone.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Geeda: That is not an offer I can match. I have given you the lowest discount I can. It seems you must make a choice. Both of us cannot remain in business here on the smuggler's moon. If either of us backs down, then we will not have the credibility to deal here again. The choice between us is this. Oondar can offer better weapons and armor than I. Such items shall give you a quick, deadly edge over your opponents. I am still building markets, connections. It is unlikely that I will ever have the connections Oondar has, but we will only see with time. So that is the choice before you. The quick, easy path that leads to what you want, now - or the longer road, where you may gain nothing at all.
Wisdom 1. [Wisdom (16)] You're talking about the dark side and the light side. Awareness 2. [Awareness (10)] You're trying to tell me something else. You're testing me.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Geeda: Am I? Perhaps. The universe is filled with such choices - quick, easy roads to gratification and power, and the slower roads with a broader view. The Jedi know about such choices. It is what they must confront whatever they go, and their choices echo through the Force in ways others cannot perceive.

Convincing Geeda to go away gains the favor and the attention of the Exchange:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. I have to go with Oondar. I am fighting a war, and I need weapons. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. Just get out of here, and take your shop with you.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Geeda: I had hoped it would not come to this, but it seems my time on Nar Shaddaa is done. I do not wish to make an incident.

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: Not-male Rodian female gone? She gone good?
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. She's gone and won't be coming back. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I took care of her.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: Such a huge crate lifted off my back! Breathing easier now, can narrow eyes on work, make profit. You get better-cred deals on weapons and armor.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Just wanted to let you know. I'll be back.

If you tell Geeda you'll stand with her instead:

Light Side Points Gained: +2
5. I'll stand with you.

6. I'll choose the longer road. Oondar was irritating me, anyway.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Geeda: Very well. But I did warn you. There may be nothing down this path that you have chosen.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Geeda: Yet, perhaps if we work together, much can be gained. I have a proposal.

After her proposal to establish new trade routes, you still need to speak to Oondar to complete their trade war:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I'm standing with Geeda. Don't trouble her anymore.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Oondar: This I not-need! She even steals my thugs from me! I give up - she can keep this hole, I not-need it. As for you, you make Exchange not-happy, hope you live more than hours before they learn it.

New Trade Routes

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Geeda: I know you came here by ship, and that you have recently visited other worlds. Perhaps you know of ways to establish a market there where I cannot. Onderon suffers beneath a blockade, and the growing secessionist movement there makes it difficult for merchants.
Journal Entry Added New Trade Routes: Bonus Mission
Geeda on Nar Shaddaa has asked if you would look into helping her establish trade on Onderon and Dantooine. If you can stabilize the situations on those planets, you should return to Geeda to tell her about it.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Geeda: Dantooine is still suffering from its attack during the Jedi Civil War. The settlements there lie in jeopardy, but if they could be stabilized, then perhaps I could establish myself there. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. I wanted to talk to you about establishing trade routes.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Geeda: Let me know if you make progress towards establishing a new market.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. I will do my best and let you know. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. Not interested. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. And what do I get out of it?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Geeda: Simply keep it in mind is all I ask. Now, is there anything else I may help you with? KotORII Icon Dialog.png Geeda: With every world you open to me shall bring new opportunities where they did not exist before. It will give me access to better arms and equipment, but that is not all.

Once the situation on Dantooine has stabilized:

Thug Boss

There's a room in the bottom right corner of the main hub, beyond the door in the wall below Oondar (there's another door around the corner in its left wall). There's an argument taking place within, between a blue Twi'lek named Squik and a thug boss and three thugs, which your entrance will turn violent:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Squik: ...I'm telling you it's all here.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Thug Boss: I told you two dozen cases! What am I supposed to do with two?!
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Squik: You are going to pay me for the two...
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Thug: Boss.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Thug Boss: An ambush! Your double-crossing lekku will adorn my wall, Squik!

The boss cuts down Squik and remotely closes and locks the two doors before all the thugs turn their attention on you:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Thug Boss: Leave none alive.

You've just gained the attention (but not the favor) of the Exchange. The doors will open when the boss is killed, unless you open them yourself first.

Refugee Sector

A door labeled Refugee Sector is in the middle of the bottom wall of the main hub. As you approach, a human named Ratrin Vhek confronts you:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Ratrin Vhek: Hey, I saw that ship you flew in on. My ship.
KotORII Icon Atton.png Atton: Your ship? I'd lay off the spice if I were you - that's our ship, not yours.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Ratrin Vhek: Was I talking to you? I tell you, that ship's mine.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Get out of my way. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. I'll be going now.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Ratrin Vhek: No, I don't think so. You and me, we got some business to settle.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. What makes you think the ship's yours? KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Can you prove it?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Ratrin Vhek: It's the Ebon Hawk isn't it? She was stolen from me during a routine run in the Mid-Rim, near the close of the Mandalorian Wars.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. If you couldn't hold on to it, then you didn't deserve it.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Ratrin Vhek: So you admit it's not yours? How did you come by it, anyway? Who did you buy it from?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. You're not taking the ship. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 5. Unless you want more trouble than you can handle, I'd leave. Dark Side Points Gained: -2
6. If you don't get out of my way, you'll be dead.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Ratrin Vhek: We'll see about that. Watch yourself - Nar Shaddaa can be a rough place.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. If you can prove the ship is yours, I'll give it back to you.
Dialog
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Ratrin Vhek: The registry's 34-P7JK. It's got a temperamental hyperdrive, and the turrets can be sluggish and unresponsive against fast moving fighters. She's also got two secret compartments - one in the cargo hold, right near the plasteel cylinders in the back, and the second beneath the bunks in the starboard cabin.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 1. That's right, but I didn't know about the cargo hatch.
KotORII Icon Atton.png Atton: Whoa - he could have gotten that information some other way than owning the ship. C'mon, he's skifting us.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Ratrin Vhek: So you gonna hand it over now, or are you going to be difficult?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. Can I buy it from you?
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Ratrin Vhek: No deal. A ship's worth its weight in spice on Nar Shaddaa, and nothing's worth being trapped here another year, scrounging freight jobs.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 2. If the ship is yours, I will return it to you.
KotORII Icon Atton.png Atton: What? It's our ship! I mean, your ship, that I fly.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Ratrin Vhek: Good to hear you aren't going to challenge it, that makes things a lot easier.

Two of Atton, Disciple or Handmaiden, and Mandalore can object further:

KotORII Icon Disciple.png Disciple: This is one of those times when I'm convinced you're thinking three steps ahead of me, and I cannot see the destination. KotORII Icon Handmaiden.png Handmaiden: Are you sure you wish to do this? If so, we will be forced to remain on this moon until we can hire transport out.
KotORII Icon Mandalore.png Mandalore: That's ship's had some proud owners. You're disgracing it by giving it away like a durasteel chip.
KotORII Icon Atton.png Atton: What are you doing?! That's going to trap us here.
Light Side Points Gained: +4
1. If the ship is his, then he deserves it back.

2. I'd rather be stuck here with a clean conscience.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Don't worry - flying the Ebon Hawk is like painting a target on your forehead. I'm not doing him any favors. KotORII Icon Dialog.png 4. It'll probably get him killed if he tries to take it anywhere in the galaxy. It's a marked ship.

Otherwise:

KotORII Icon Dialog.png Ratrin Vhek: No hard feelings, I hope. Don't worry - you shouldn't have any trouble finding transport off Nar Shaddaa on your own.
Light Side Points Gained: +4
1. No, if the ship is yours, then you deserve it back.
Light Side Points Gained: +4
2. I'd rather have a clean conscience than a stolen ship.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png 3. Not at all. Flying the Ebon Hawk is like painting a target on your forehead. I'm not doing you any favors.
KotORII Icon Dialog.png Ratrin Vhek: I'll be going now. Get used to the solid ground beneath you.

In every case, he leaves:

KotORII Icon Atton.png Atton: Lemme shoot him in the back, no one has to know.
KotORII Icon Handmaiden.png Handmaiden: Atton, restrain yourself. Besides, a blaster would be unnecessary when a nerve strike to his neck would incapacitate him painfully without inflicting any lasting harm.
KotORII Icon Atton.png Atton: Point taken.

Even if you said you'd return the ship, you can still board the Ebon Hawk (although you cannot access any secret compartments mentioned) and even leave Nar Shaddaa. However, once you've entered and exited the Refugee Quad, the crew of the Red Eclipse seize the Ebon Hawk, and you'll need to go through them to confront their captain on board and settle the Landing Rights issue before you can use it again.
