As you enter the bottom end of the Trayus academy from the depths once Bao-Dur's remote has activated the Mass Shadow Generator, Darth Sion strides into its top end from the Trayus core. Six Sith assassins decloak and kneel around him as Kreia speaks telepathically:
Kreia: :: When the exile enters Trayus Academy, he will be faced with a choice. ::

The Sith assassins rise and cloak:
Kreia: :: Show him every respect when he arrives in these halls, Lord Sion. This I command you. ::

Meanwhile, you face an elite Sith assassin at the bottom end of the academy's antechamber:
There's nothing of interest down any of the halls lining either side of the antechamber, except for those at the very top. Three Sith assassins guard the top end of the antechamber, and three more guard each of the doors in the top left and right halls.
Sith assassins rarely if ever use Master Drain Force.

This is the choice Kreia told Darth Sion you would face: to get to the Trayus core at the top end of the academy, you can go through the Trayus prison (renamed Trayus Crescent) on the left side, or the Trayus Proving Grounds on the right side. The choice isn't actually meaningful (without the Restored Content Mod, at least) and you can do both, but this isn't necessary. The proving grounds do contain a Workbench, though...
Trayus Prison
Behind the door in the top left wall of the academy's antechamber is a short corridor to another door, beyond which is the top right end of a curved corridor, guarded by three Sith assassins, with two more midway down.

The central chamber in the top part of the Trayus academy is pillared and has doors in its left, right and top walls. Save game before approaching the door to the Trayus core in the top wall, as when you do so Darth Sion appears behind you. If your character is female:
Darth Sion: You should not have come to Malachor. She will break you, your mind, your body... you will be lost. Return to the surface, let the planet claim you, as it claimed the other Jedi... there is no reason for you to suffer at her hands.
5. Kreia is using you, Sion... using us.
Darth Sion: Turn aside, then - deny her what she wants. She will accept my loyalty again, for she will have no other choice.
1. [Persuade/Lie (17)] Sion, there is no reason for us to fight - together, we can stop Kreia.

Darth Sion: [Failure] My betrayal was another test. I have passed, and I have become stronger for it.

Darth Sion: It is not mercy. What awaits you will weaken you. She will break you, as she did me, and you will no longer know yourself.

Darth Sion: So you have come to die, like the Jedi before you. This planet is a graveyard for your kind. She thinks you should be spared, but only so you might suffer. You will break. And when you do, you will die. Why she would bother with one such as you is something I will never understand.
2. What is this place?
Darth Sion: It is ancient, a relic that survived the destruction of Malachor. It was always here, far before the Mandalorian Wars. It draws death and hate to it, channels it. Atrocities feed its power, and with its power, it creates hunger. Many Jedi have been consumed by it.
Darth Sion: It has been here for thousands of years. It is a place where the Sith teachings run strong... it is the threshold of the borders of an ancient empire. Kreia says it was a place of reflection for the ancient Sith... a gateway to their lands. It drew Lord Revan... and it calls to her as well. She said that the teachings here will lead one to the Sith... the true Sith... and all their shadowed worlds. This place led Revan to the graveyards of Korriban... and beyond.

Darth Sion: It does not matter. The Lord Revan had the galaxy at his feet, could have made it strong, and he surrendered it to weakness. Like you, Revan touched power and turned away. The chance to heal this fractured galaxy, and he turned away. I was there when the Academy on Korriban fell... and the Sith turned on one another, like beasts. Our chance at an empire... destroyed by Revan.

Darth Sion: She awaits on the Trayus Core - the heart of this planet. But you will never reach her.

You must defeat him four times, but you can erode his will again after his second and third defeats (although you must be more persuasive each time to succeed).

Once Darth Sion has been reduced to less than 10 Vitality, he disengages and is restored to maximum Vitality:
Darth Sion: Now you realize the true power of the dark side. As long as the dark places of this world flow through the cracks of my flesh, I cannot be killed.

Second defeat
After Darth Sion's second defeat:
Darth Sion: You are strong... as strong as I had believed. But she knows you cannot defeat me.
Darth Sion: You are strong... perhaps she was correct about you. But you cannot kill me. She knows this.

Darth Sion: She sought you out because both of you were wounded by the Force - and because she had no choice.
Darth Sion: The Force is pain. The Force is focus. The Force is that which drives the strong and kills the weak. I shall teach you this - and in so doing, spare you the pain that awaits.
Darth Sion: Those are the words of Jedi, Jedi who over thousands of years, have never turned from power, from inflicting their will on the galaxy. They know power. The only weakness is not seizing it when it lies before you.
Darth Sion: She would not willingly return to being the helpless woman she once was... nor would her apprentice.
Darth Sion: She would not willingly return to being the helpless woman she once was... nor would she wish that of her apprentice.
5. Surrender now, Sion. I don't want to kill you.
6. Fight or die - but spare me the threats.
Darth Sion: If you will not leave this place, then I cannot allow you to pass. If you go before her, you will be broken. If killing you will spare you what lies ahead, then kill you I must...
Darth Sion: You are the one who will fall. Die, Jedi.

Third defeat
After Darth Sion's third defeat:
Darth Sion: If I die here, then you will have sealed your fate.

2. [Persuade (27)] I am stronger than you expected - and I am stronger than Kreia expects. Let me confront her, and we shall see.

Darth Sion: I... I still have the power to stop you. The Force runs strong through the screaming canyons of Malachor.
Darth Sion: I can die a hundred times, exile, and still I will rise again, as strong as before.

Fourth defeat
After Darth Sion's fourth, and final, defeat he drops to his knees:
Darth Sion: I will not fall. I cannot die.
Dialog
1. You have already been defeated, Sion. Surrender, and I will spare you.
2. Get up, Sith Lord, and I will prove to you that you can die.
3. You have fallen - and you are dead, you only must admit it.
Darth Sion: Why... why did she choose you? What makes you able to defeat me, defeat me here?
