Welcome to all users! This page is where you can ask StrategyWiki-related questions to the staff and senior community figures, and they will do their best to answer. New issues are entered here, with the most recent at the bottom of the page. If your question does not pertain to editing StrategyWiki (e.g. asking for hints or game-specific information), please ask on the guide's talk page or on the forums.

Please review the Table of Contents to see if your issue has already been raised; also check the archives (to the right) in case it was discussed some time ago.

To facilitate ease of browsing and replying, please:

  1. Place your question at the bottom of the list.
  2. Title the question (by placing the title between equals signs: ==Title==).
  3. Sign your name and date (by adding four tildes: ~~~~).

Adding external links without being logged in is broken

First time I click save page, and the page reloads asking for a reCAPTCHA. After filling out the reCAPTCHA, the page reloads telling me I'm adding to many links in rapid succession and asks me to click save once more if I'm adding something serious. Clicking save once more reloads the page asking for yet another reCAPTCHA, and after that it reloads with the "adding too many links" message again. It continously goes back and forth between the two, and never actually gets to the point where it's saving my contribution. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.202.106.243 (talkcontribs) .

Any thoughts about installing the VisualEditor on here?

Since this wiki runs on Mediawiki software I believe that the VisualEditor could be implemented on here. I think it would make editing somewhat easier, particularly with tables. —SirMoogle ( 💬📝) 05:01, 11 May 2020 (UTC)

I've been considering it, but it's at least a few months out. It takes some additional infrastructure in the backend, but also doesn't always make the best wikicode. We'll probably have to test it out. -- Prod (talk) 07:21, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
I disagree with SirMoogle. The visual editor creates lots of "junk wikicode", especially in tables. I often clean up unnecessary code on some wikis that favor the visual editor, and as a result webpage sizes get usually cut down by 50%. Bigger pages are heavier to load, and if someone has limited connection or an old device, they will have difficulties in visualizing the pages. --Abacos (talk) 11:16, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

Longer password. Ok, but why?

When I registered back in 2012 I used a 6-characters password (on Wikipedia, it is still valid). When I became administrator (in 2016), I had to change it to a 8-characters password. Today, I had to change it to a 10-characters password. I am fine with that, but why do passwords requirements change? It is just curiosity. --Abacos (talk) 11:27, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

I see. Thank you --Abacos (talk) 13:09, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
