Announcement[edit]

After the DoubleJump books announcement does it mean that there will be less adverts on the rest of the site? I hope this is the case. 81.107.69.28 14:54, 15 April 2008 (CDT)

I wish that I could say this would be the case, but it is not. The agreement between DoubleJump Books and StrategyWiki does not change our financial situation. We offer all of our content to readers free of charge. Since we do not charge any user for our services, we need to recoup the fees to maintain our servers in some form. At the moment, advertising is the only viable solution. At some point we hope to expand our network of sites to include content that is more conducive to generating revenue. If and when such a site is constructed, we can reevaluate whether the amount of money being earned by an associated venture is enough to remove the advertisements without and appreciable deficit to our ability to maintain the site. We thank you very much for your understanding and for your support of the site. Procyon (Talk) 16:22, 15 April 2008 (CDT)
Just to clarify: our agreement with DoubleJump is purely for cross-promotion. StrategyWiki is advertised in DoubleJump publications, while we advertise DoubleJump on StrategyWiki. --DrBob (talk) 17:21, 15 April 2008 (CDT)
Where on double jump is StrategyWiki advertised? I can't seem to see any ads? - Trevman 19:08, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
In their print strategy guides, which are unfortunately out of print. Procyon 20:37, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

February 7th, 2009: Share this![edit]

Excellent idea - why was this not done sooner! :p, keep up the good work guys - Trevman 09:04, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

(BTW the date is wrong) - Trevman 09:05, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
Glad you like it, and hopefully other people do too ^_^. Fixed the date too, thanks!. -- Prod (Talk) 09:22, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Facebook group[edit]

Would it be worth announcing the facebook fan page. Since it's been put on the notice board the group has picked up a few fans, but more notably there seems to have been an increase in active users according to the Statistics page. - Trevman 19:23, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

"February 18nd, 2011"[edit]

...should be "February 18th, 2011" (or just "February 18, 2011"). --Pelago 16:37, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Fixed. Moydow T · C 16:41, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

January 25th, 2015: Maintenance almost finished.[edit]

This has been the current news item shown on the front page for some months now. I assume the maintenance actually finished some time ago. Any chance of a new news item to take its place? --Pelago (talk) 10:57, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

You make a good point, but the truth is that we've pretty much just been cruising along with no major news. Perhaps Prod can provide an update with the version of MediaWiki that we're up to or something. I'll see if he has any ideas. Thanks. Procyon 02:02, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
