SSF2T T. Hawk.gif

T. Hawk (full name Thunder Hawk) is one of the four new challengers introduced in Super Street Fighter II. He is the equal of Zangief in strength, but uses more "finesse" in his attacks. Though large, he can defeat many smaller, more agile fighters with his devastating techniques. Unlike most bulky warriors, he does not like to grapple, but he can when necessary.

Background[edit]

When he was an infant, he and the members of his tribe were being forced off their land by Shadoloo. Some of the Thunderfoot members resisted and fought against them, and most were killed, including their leader, Arroyo Hawk (T. Hawk's father), who was cowardly murdered by a younger M. Bison. Now living in Mexico near the Monte Albán plains, T. Hawk wants nothing more than revenge from M. Bison for his despicable actions and to reclaim the land that was taken from his people.

When the Thunderfoot tribe had experienced disappearances of many of their people, T. Hawk took the responsibility of finding them. One of them became Noembelu, one of M. Bison's brainwashed dolls. He found Noembelu, but it is not known if she returned home with him or regained any memories she lost as a doll. It is also unknown whether T. Hawk found anyone else in his tribe, but he may have due to his change in focus afterwards.

T. Hawk entered the second World Warrior tournament to battle against M. Bison to reclaim his people's lands and win their freedom from his tyranny. He does not come out the big winner, but T. Hawk does regain his land - however, it is desolate and empty. Determined, T. Hawk vows to make his land as great as it once was and bring the Thunderfoot people back home.

HD Remix Alterations[edit]

Control Motion Changes

  • Condor Dive command changed to Arcade-Button-LPunch.png+Arcade-Button-LKick.png OR Arcade-Button-MPunch.png+Arcade-Button-MKick.png OR Arcade-Button-HPunch.png+Arcade-Button-HKick.png while in air (old command Arcade-Button-3xPunch.png still works)
  • Special throw command easier: Arcade-Stick-Hcbf.png+Arcade-Button-Punch.png OR Arcade-Stick-Hcfb.png+Arcade-Button-Punch.png, and you can actually start in Arcade-Stick-DL.png or Arcade-Stick-DR.png. (Original Arcade-Stick-360.png command also still works.)
  • Super command easier: Arcade-Stick-Hcb.png Arcade-Stick-Hcbf.png+Arcade-Button-Punch.png OR Arcade-Stick-Hcf.pngArcade-Stick-Hcfb.png+Arcade-Button-Punch.png

Buffs

  • Condor Dive's bounce changed so it ends with T.Hawk close to enemy and safe on block or hit.
  • Several of T.Hawk's normal moves are from Super T.Hawk, such as stand Arcade-Button-HKick.png, stand Arcade-Button-MPunch.png, and low Arcade-Button-HKick.png. All of these moves are better than Super Turbo T.Hawk's versions (stand Arcade-Button-MPunch.png and stand Arcade-Button-HKick.png have better hitboxes, low Arcade-Button-HKick.png comes out much faster).
  • Fixed a bug where a stray hitbox on low Arcade-Button-MPunch.png could be hit from very far away.

Nerfs

  • Condor Dive does not knock down.
  • Special throw now has a whiff animation if you miss to prevent an inescapable throw loop.
  • Super throw bounces T.Hawk slightly farther away, but special throw still has same bounce as Super Turbo.

Techniques[edit]

Name Description
Thrust Break Rather than his usual straight chop, T. Hawk performs a very close range and low to the ground chop.
Heavy Shoulder While come down from a jump, T. Hawk attempts to land on his opponent with an extended elbow.
Heavy Body Press Similar to E. Honda's body press, T. Hawk spreads his body out wide and attempt to flatten the opponent by landing on him or her with all of T. Hawk's weight.
Tomahawk Buster T. Hawk squats down to the ground before leaping off with the full strength of his legs. He rises through the air with his head extended and his arms spread out wide to either side, colliding with the opponent with the full force of his body.
Condor Dive The reciprocal move to the Tomahawk Buster, after T. Hawk jumps up into the air, he reorients himself into a similar position, and immediately streaks down towards the opponent. Because of the reorientation, this move can be punished by a counter-attack before T. Hawk gets to execute it, so it's best to use from a safe distance away.
Mexican Typhoon If T. Hawk executes this throw very close to his opponent, he will grab them and flip them around in a circle before slamming them down into the ground for a devastating impact.
Double Typhoon T. Hawks Super Move is composed of two consecutive Typhoons performed back to back. When T. Hawk initiates this move, he has limited invulnerability, and can grab projectile throwers and other opponents mid-attack. He picks them up and slams them into the ground twice before letting them go to resume the fight.
