Overview[edit]

Pikachu is a Pokémon from the Pokemon series. He originated from Pokemon Red in 1996. He is great at keeping the opponent from attacking as his side special often makes smaller opponents flinch. He is also a great edge guarder as his neutral special can rotate around platforms and can be used on opponents who are hanging on the edge.

Strategies[edit]

There are many different strategies that can be used with Pikachu. Despite the fact that the two of them are vastly different, many of Pikachu's strategies can be used with Pichu. There are at least three strategies so far.

Side Special[edit]

Pikachu's side special (as said above) can make opponents flinch. A great way to rack up damage on an opponent is to hit them repeatedly with Skull Bash, as the opponents will be unable to retaliate due to Skull Bash causing them to flinch.

Neutral Special[edit]

Since Pikachu doesn't really have any meteor attacks (besides his down aerial), its probably better to edge guard instead. you can use Jolt to hit opponents who are hanging over the edge. This will also work for enemies who are below the stage or platform you're edgeguarding on, since it circles around the platform.

Thunder[edit]

Pikachu's down special, since it goes through platforms, can be used to hit opponents above you. This can be useful if an opponent is above you or if the opponent is in the air. This is a little harder to use however, due to it's slow startup.
