Mario?[edit]

Wasn't he called "Jumpman" when Donkey Kong came out? --aniki21 15:56, 28 January 2006 (PST)

Thats what i thought, [Wikipedia] says so too --blendmaster 18:15, 28 January 2006 (PST)

Yes he was originally called Jumpman in this game, but then Nintendo renamed the sprite to Mario and a legend was born :P I guess you could do Mario (Jumpman). -Mr Saeba 09:11, 29 January 2006 (PST)

Donkey Kong series template[edit]

{{Mario}} is used, but {{Donkey Kong}} isn't? This isn't considered a Donkey Kong game, even though it spawned the character? --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 00:37, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Header image discussion[edit]

I noticed Prod removed the headerimage that Teddy worked to create. Rather than simply abandoning it, I thought it might be best to host a discussion about the merits of keeping it vs. removing it before we got too hasty. Personally, I like the work that Teddy did, and if breaking consistency was a concern, we'd never try anything new. So please put forth an argument for removing it (or keeping it) before we conclude whether it should stay or go. Thanks Procyon 20:27, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

I want to try and make this an automated thing in the future, where if a game has a GAMENAME_Header.png/jpg image, it is automatically applied to the top page within that game. I just think that having a well-made header image for some of the more complete games could really flesh-out the guides and make them feel more like guides rather than just text within this site. I think it makes the guide stand out. The image for this guide looks really slick and professional. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 20:27, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
But it's inconsistent, and just makes all the other guides look worse and unfinished. I would also suggest any tests and demos not be done on featured guides which new editors should be using as an example. -- Prod (Talk) 20:45, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Maybe we should make this a new (optional) standard. Although it adds one more thing that all of the other guides now need, it really spruces up the page. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 20:49, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
