Genre[edit]
The Black Sage is an Adventure game, with some role-playing elements. In particular, it belongs to the Text adventure sub-genre, since it lacks any graphics (except for the title screen and the castle map).
As it is, the standalone game is just an adventure game. If any other Ogres and Orcs Adventure was ever released, the series would have been made of proper role-playing games, with character development and an inventory of items with different effects.

- Some Text adventures give multiple choices to the player, as in this game, although most of them feature a text parser instead.
