The City of Lost Children is a 3D adventure game developed and published by Psygnosis for PlayStation and MS-DOS, based on a French film of the same title. It was released North America and in Europe in 1997 and in Japan in 1998.

Story[edit | edit source]

Strange things happen at night in a gloomy port city. Strange individuals with a mechanical eye kidnap children and take them away, loading them on trucks. Among these, also Denree, the little brother of One, a dumb but good guy who performs the number of the strongman at the circus. Meanwhile Miette, a twelve-year-old orphan, is forced to steal by the directress of the orphanage where she lives, Pieuvre. During her thefts, she runs into One, who begs her to help him find his little brother. Miette then decides to help him and find out what happens to the children who are kidnapped, before it's too late.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

In this game, the player takes on the role of the film character Miette, an orphan forced to steal. You must explore this dark city, collecting items and solving puzzles, to progress the story. You have also to talk to the characters you meet, some of whom will be willing to help you or provide you with information, while others will throw a spoke in your wheels.
