Where we left off, our heroes were kicked out of the pawnbrokery by the police. Gina was upset that she couldn't get the small music disk and runs off, but she'll be back. Sholmes and Iris are going to have dinner so you and Susato move to Sholmes's Suite to take a break from investigating.

Sholmes's Suite[edit]

Upon entering, it seems that Sholmes is too busy to talk, so talk to Iris:

  • Ginny: Iris recounts how she became "best friends" with Gina after the McGilded trial, although it doesn't sound entirely mutual...
  • Living with Sholmes: Iris reveals that her father was actually Sholmes' partner, and that he wrote about the cases they solved together. His memoirs are currently kept in the metal chest at the center of the suite.
  • Iris's father: Iris explains that her father's memoirs were the inspiration for the Sholmes stories she writes today.

After the conversation with Iris is concluded, talk to Sholmes:

  • The music box disk: As it turns out, Sholmes created an exact replica of the music box disc confiscated by Gregson using his caramel candy bars.
  • The music on the disk: Sholmes explains that the matching music box must be found in order to determine what sound the disk is supposed to produce.
  • Magnus McGilded: Sholmes says that he didn't expect to hear McGilded's name after two months, and Ryunosuke shares the sentiment as he remembers the details of his first trial in Britain.

Even though Iris is excited that Ginny is coming to her house tonight, to everyone's shock, Susato is excited to read The Hound of the Baskervilles, when Iris hasn't published it yet. Gina arrives at an awkward time, but the night goes well regardless, as everyone spends the time having dinner and chatting. After a while, you will automatically move back into Naruhodo's Legal Consultancy.

Naruhodo's Legal Consultancy[edit]

Before they all go to sleep, Ryunosuke, Susato, Iris, and Gina have their final chat. Talk once again to Iris:

  • The manuscript: Iris explains to Gina how her father partnered with Holmes and wrote about their adventures together.
  • The Hound of the Baskervilles: Iris says that her manuscript for this particular case is "special," as Sholmes didn't allow it to be published. Gina believes that Sholmes is lying to Iris about what he did with it.

Pan right and examine Gina to talk to her:

  • Your parents: Gina explains her life as an orphan, recounting how the older orphans would look after the younger ones since they didn't have anyone else to help them. It seems that her pick-pocketing is her attempt at looking after her kind.
  • Sholmes's lie: Gina speculates that Sholmes actually sold Iris' Hound of the Baskervilles manuscript at Windibank's, rather than leaving it there for safekeeping.

Everyone has gone to sleep. But Sholmes woke you up in the middle of the night and directs you to the outside where the pawnshop is. So you, Sholmes and Susato decide to go investigate the place due to the disappearance of Gina while Iris is still asleep. Two mysterious figures in the pawnshop shoots a gun before escaping. Sholmes tells you to chase him but they were gone when you ran outside. An English policeman goes to report to Scotland Yard as you return to the pawnshop.

Soon after, a cutscene will play, and suddenly you have a murder on your hands. Sholmes has been shot with Susato looking after him. He pointed you to the storeroom. You looked through the peephole to find a horrifying scene that marks the end of the investigation: Mr. Windibank is shot dead in the back and Gina has fainted while holding a gun while the door is locked from the inside!
