Leave the answer to the puzzle under the title 'answers' and if you're the first to get it right, I'll leave a note on your talk page.

31 July 2008[edit]

Ok, this is actually a riddle but it's still a puzzle.

What can bark but cannot bite?

There is one thing in particular that I am thinking of, but if you think of something else instead that would still be right, well done anyway.

Anybody want a clue?Melon247 (Dog's Life's No. 1 fan)

clues[edit]

  1. The answer is sort of an animal
  2. It is something related to a certain reptile.

answers[edit]

A tree. -- Prod (Talk) 13:14, 1 August 2008 (CDT)

He, I knew someone would say that. I meant the sound kind of bark. I'll give you a clue if you want.Melon247 (Dog's Life's No. 1 fan)

I've heard the sound of a frog described as barking. And I don't think frogs have teeth so they cannot bite. So, is it a frog? New User 17:30, 1 August 2008 (CDT)

Well, I guess they do sort of bark, but i was thinking of something a little bigger, and even if a frog doesn't have any teeth it could still bite you if you annoyed it enough. The thing I meant doesn't actually have a mouth on the outside.Melon247 (Dog's Life's No. 1 fan)

I'm stumped. The only animals without mouths are... bugs! But then you have to argue whether or not a proboscis is capable of "biting." Is it a cicada? --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 12:54, 2 August 2008 (CDT)

Well, a cicada isn't related to a reptile (I don't think). I have the feeling no body is going to get this one. it is rather difficult. I'm going to skip straight to the next puzzle.

the right answer[edit]

No body worked it out, but the answer was a crocodiles egg! They make a sort of barking sound when they are ready to hatch, and they can't bite because they are inside an egg shell.

3rd August 2008[edit]

Let's see who can make the most words out of:

publicity in Las Vagas

You can mix up the letters as much as you want, but you can only use each letter once, (eg. you can use up to 3 a's because there's three of them but you could only use one v)

answers[edit]

Well, since there isn't a requirement that the words have to form any sort of coherent sentence or that acronyms aren't allowed, so: a tv say call gin is I pub. I do believe that I used every letter, forming 8 words. --Skizzerz (talk · contribs)

Here's what I figure:saga pubic vain hits.For c,l,y,it could be a nickname for Clyde or something.Odd choice of words,no? (P.S.Some words may not be real,check please.) --User:Auramaster713

Huh? I was sure there'd be more than that. I'll see how many I come up with

And also you can use a letter more than once if you use it in a different word (if you understand that) I just meant you can't use the same letter more than once in each single word. I's like one of the 'beat that' things from Animal Action Magazine.Melon247 (Dog's Life's No. 1 fan) 12:48, 5 August 2008 (CDT)

I did write an answer like this, must have forgotten to save, here it goes again: I, pub(s), publicity, city, sub(s), puss, gap(s), sap, sag(s), gas last, past, list(s), gist, is, a, an, apt, all, sail(s), pail(s), gay(s), say(s), pay(s), lay(s), it(s), as, public, vial, avail, sail, tail, bin, sin, pin, tin, gust, in, gin, yap, saga(s), publicly, call(s), tall, ball(s), stall(s), pain, stain, gain(s), last, past, pull(s), pig, big, sat, pat, cat(s) There are probably a lot more but here is a list of a few.--The preceding signed comment was added by Rocky (talkcontribs). 09:57, 7 August 2008 (CDT)

Ok, lets see if anyone can beat that (I think it was seventy six or sometring like that).

By the way, those who answered already, have another go now you know what I meant, and could you write down the number of words too because I don't like counting huge numbers of words because I always seem to forget how many there were or loose my place.Melon247 (Dog's Life's No. 1 fan) 10:44, 7 August 2008 (CDT)

23rd November 2008[edit]

I can't think of any real puzzles so I'll just make something up, from a guide probably.

How many areas from Dog's Life have large local dogs

Try and answer that! Ha ha ha! (it's probably quite easy if you know about dogs, i'll have a look myself.) By the way it doesn't include Jake or Daisy.

answers[edit]

The right answer[edit]

I can't believe nobody answered, but the answer was eleven. Here is a list of them;

  1. The Dalmatian at the watermill
  2. The Border Collie in the Big Field
  3. The Doberman in the Clarksville Centre
  4. The Boxer at the Cafe
  5. The Weimaraner in the Ski Slope
  6. The Husky at the High Street
  7. The Bull Mastiff in the Mountain Tops
  8. The St Bernard at the Mountain Slide
  9. The Alsatian at the Station
  10. The Whippet at the Park
  11. The Greyhound in Boom City Centre

5th November 2008[edit]

Here's a question:

Why can't a man living in the USA be buried in Canada?

Answer it right and you are clever. The next few questions will probably be like this aswell.

answers[edit]

He can't be buried in Canada if he's living in the USA. He can only be buried in the USA, although it would be awkward since he is still living! New User (talk) 21:30, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Darn, I thought that puzzle would be harder for people to get right. Oh well. --Melon247, The Dog's Life Expert 13:28, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

6th December 2008[edit]

Here's another puzzle for you lot.

What wieys more; a ton of feathers or a ton of bricks

Considering my last puzzle was answered so easily, this one should be obvious.

answers[edit]

Neither, they weight the same – a ton... However if it is a register ton then I'm wrong since that one is a measure of volume instead of weight. --Zaiqukaj 12:48, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

That's right. They weigh the same. I'm not really all that good of thinking up puzzles, but Skiz hasn't had any new ones for ages. --Melon247, The Dog's Life Expert 13:28, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

While they do have equal mass, the ton of bricks weighs more, since feathers have magical properties to partially negate the force of gravity and optionally convert it into forward flight. It's also the reason the Road Runner can run across air as if it were solid road (while the coyote that follows simply does a dive bomb.) --Sigma 7 17:10, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

17th May 2009[edit]

Ok I haven't had a new puzzle in ages, so I finally remembered (typical me). These are annograms or some of the games I have. Try to work them out. The words won't necessarily be in the right places. Other characters (', (), etc.) aren't used, but should be in your answers.

  1. FIDO LEGS
  2. RAT SMEHZ
  3. MISS PESTETH 2
  4. GRIND DOOR WINS LLAMA WILCS

Work them out and put the answers in the right order in the section below. Have fun!

answers[edit]

  1. DOGS LIFE --Sigma 7 16:56, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
  2. HAMSTERZ--Rocky (talk · contribs) 17:11, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
  3. THE SIMS 2 PETS--Rocky (talk · contribs) 17:04, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
  4. ANIMAL CROSSING WILD WORLD--Rocky (talk · contribs) 17:04, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Wow, that was quick : /. --Melon247   (talk · contribs · comp) 18:03, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

31 May 2009[edit]

I have noticed that since I am not Skizzerz I am not able to make very challenging puzzles. But I have decided to un"leash" my secret weapon... my knowledge of dog breeds!

I have four dog images (which I took from wikipedia and will mark for deletion once I have cleared this page and they are no longer needed), and I have left no clues whatsoever in the image titles or anything. All you need to do is tell me what the dog breeds are.

answers[edit]

OK, since I'm the only one who seems to know about dogs, all you need to do is get one of them. At least. You can do more if you know the answers. I'll make a list here.

  1. some type of collie or sheepdog - 68.96.114.229 03:52, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
  2. Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen (large/grand) - 68.96.114.229 03:52, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
  3. Nova Scotian Duck Tolling Retriever - 68.96.114.229 03:52, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
  4. Chesapeake Bay Retriever - najzereT

Just put the breed and your sig ; ). Also maybe leave a note or something below so I can remove your answer from above if it's wrong. --Melon247   (talk · contribs · comp) 12:39, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

I tried to cheat on this one by looking up those images, but I couldn't find any. My first thought was that #1 was a collie, and I was guessing that #3 was a golden retriever but I never found the image. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 23:24, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
Well I guess I can count that as being answered. #1 was a Kooikerhondje and #2 was a Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen. The last two above were right, although technically the dog is called a Nova Scotia Duck-Tolling Retriever (no N, hyphen). --Melon247   (talk · contribs · comp) 10:48, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
