Edit summaries[edit]

I've noticed you've been making quite a few edits recently. :-) Could you please write an edit summary for your edits in future, to tell everybody else what's changed without making them look at the diff? Thanks. --DrBob (Talk) 12:02, 19 June 2006 (PDT)

Shenmue layout[edit]

The main reason for leaving the infobox off the front page was just clutter; it would potentially be too much information. Personally, I feel it fits best on the Game Introduction page anyway; to me, it makes more sense to keep all of that kind of info together. Thanks for the compliments on the layout, though. That guide took me quite a while to get through. I just need to get onto my next project... --aniki21 04:13, 21 June 2006 (PDT)

Relicensing your contributions[edit]

StrategyWiki is transitioning from the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) to the new StrategyWiki Public License (SWPL), but in order to do so we need every contributor of each guide to sign their name on this page. There is more information on the transition there but if you could sign your name it would greatly help the StrategyWiki mission as a whole, thank you. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 08:48, 30 June 2006 (PDT)

Image sizes[edit]

Hi Chono Warrior 3. I noticed the images that you uploaded to replace previous images. I reverted back to the original Metroid Prime 2 cover, because the one you uploaded was simply too big, and nearly 10 times the filesize of the original. We generally force the box art image size to 250. So the optimal sizes are between 250 pixels wide and 320 pixels wide (like your Super Mario Sunshine image). Technically, your TOS image is a little too big, but compared to what you've replaced, it's substantially better, so we'll leave it for now. Thank you for your efforts, and feel free to continue to replace smaller images, but please try to keep the file sizes as reasonable as possible. Thanks! Procyon 07:58, 29 January 2007 (CST)

External Links[edit]

Hi Chrono Warrior 3. While I appreciate your effort to contribute, we're trying to keep External Links to a minimum, if at all. We're trying to portray the site as the only place that you need to go to find out anything about a game. And while that's technically impossible, it's an image we want to project. Official websites are an obvious exception, and there is an infobox field for them so that they go in the infobox appropriately. And wikipedia is cool, we also have a template for that, which is just {{wikipedia}} or {{wikipedia|article name}} where article name is used if the page in wikipedia is named differently than the page here. I understand the points that you made. However, the policy is not my policy, but the policy of this site (I just happen to agree with, and support it.) If you want to challenge the policy, please feel free to bring up the points to made to me on the Community Portal Talk page. One problem that I can definitely point out, is if you set up the precedent that you are going to allow, say, links to mods, what if someone wants to link to some other type of fan site that's less useful. Where exactly do you draw the line? Part of what this policy does is eliminate the need for a line entirely. Procyon 21:55, 9 February 2007 (CST)
