Image categorisation[edit]

When uploading images, please make sure to categorise them using the correct image categories and the guide-specific category, i.e. [[Category:MapleStory item images]]. Please see our image policy for more details. Thanks for helping to keep our images neat! — najzereT 17:57, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

I recommend using your personal sandbox for practicing setting up pages instead of your talk page. Thank you for the help. --- JepjrTalk 10:33, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

I... Thought I did. Huh. Thanks for the tip though. :) - Imjon 14:23, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

Copying content[edit]

Hi, when copying text from Wikipedia or other compatibly licensed places, please follow their attribution requirements by providing a link in the edit summary. This isn't required for public domain sources, but most copyleft licenses require we at least give them credit. Thanks! — najzereT 16:38, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

Alright, thanks for the heads-up. Imjon 23:00, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

Hey, what system are you playing FFXIII on? I'm getting it for PS3 tonight, so if you're playing on the 360 we can probably spot any differences together. :D — najzereT 23:17, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

I have it for PS3 too. But that was a wonderful idea. ^_^ Tell me how you like it once you start playing. :) Imjon 04:00, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
All right, although it might be a few days, since I'm playing God of War III right now. ;) — najzereT 05:24, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
I'm almost done with FFXIII so next I think I'll get SoulSilver. Hmmm. What other games have you played recently? Imjon 05:29, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
Before GOW3 was Heavy Rain, then before that was Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time and then before that Assassin's Creed II. I'm in chat right now, by the way, if you want to have a gab. :D — najzereT 05:32, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Dual Blade Thief Skills.[edit]

I don't even know why that section was added to begin with. Dual Blade is very much like thief but just follows a separate storyline. Theres no point in placing it in the Dual Blade section, it just makes things more complicated and less organized. If you would like to add it to the dual blade section though, go right ahead.

Well, Dual Blade starts out separately from Adventurers, they use new a weapon-type and weapon system, and they use a different skill/job advancement system (sort of). They're technically the Thief "legendary" without the "legendary" part. I don't see why they don't deserve their own section. -- Imjon 20:37, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

Dual Blade does not use a new weapon system. The Blade is self goes under the SI(Shield) category. It is a blind move by nexon to get more money. And the only difference that they have from beginners is the fact that they have a different RaceSelect icon. As for the skill/job system I labeled the levels for each job if they were different. And as for the "legendary" part, they are a limited time class, let alone being "legendary". However the main reason I included Dual Blade into the thief section is because they both have the same beginning job and no real difference. Aside from that you do bring up a point, but as I said before if you want to add it to the dual blade section go right ahead. -- Zienth

No, Blades have their own spot on the equipment menu. Exactly, they don't start out like other Adventurers. And as far as I'm aware, their Rogue skills are actually different. -- Imjon 21:02, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

Again, allow me to show you that a blade is a shield. [1] Download it or not, pay attention to the following slots, in the dual blade equip, <string name="islot" value="Si"/> <string name="vslot" value="Si"/>, they are both the same equip slot as the shield which I packed the dragon Kanjaur or however it's spelled. As for the equip slots they are different because they want to mask the fact that it does take the spot as a shield. And to reply on there rouge skills, I'm not aware of what they use to be a representation of the job change, but dual blade has very much the same job as bandit, and assassin. The reason that this is true is because there is no ID 401, its only 400(rouge), 410(assassin), 420(bandit), 430(semi dualer). And for that dual blade starches from 430-434 (Semi Dualer, Dualer, Dual Master, Slasher, Dual Blader) which does not contain a beginner job.

FFXIII Guide[edit]

I noticed that we might be working on the same guide, and I want to know what part you're up to in the game. =) --E-123Wario54 21:32, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

I'm at the part right before the final boss. What about you? And which version do you have? 360 or PS3?
I have the PS3 version. You're fast! Final boss already? I'm having a little trouble with defeating the fal'Cie guy, Galenth Dysley. The farthest I've gotten was defeating three of those projectile-attacking head things, I just can't defeat the whole thing. I even tried using Odin. Still, it really seems possible, I just have to try harder. --E-123Wario54 01:21, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
I have the PS3 version as well! *highfive* I've actually been at the final boss for nearly a week. I haven't played the game for a while because I got in trouble for leaving a mess in the living room so I've just been avoiding the living room. And about the part you're at: is that the first time you've met him or the second? -- Imjon 01:23, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
First time, I don't think I met him a second time yet. I didn't even get Bahamut yet. It's the part where he kills Jihl Nabaat. I was really surprised when he did that, actually, because I thought I was going to have to fight her. --E-123Wario54 01:32, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Ooh, that fight. I had to try several times, if I remember correctly. :P I don't remember my strategy though, sorry. :( -- Imjon 01:33, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
It's alright, I'll find a way. Right now I'm trying to switch between Relentless Assault and Solidarity, and then using Odin when the rest of my teammates die. I just tried again recently, but when I was dying, Odin didn't heal me. Instead, I died and he revived me, and I couldn't use Gestalt mode. I'm using Lightning, Fang, and Hope (just because he's a level 2 Healer). But really, is it even possible to get a Platinum trophy for that game? --E-123Wario54 01:39, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
You should level up Hope's healing and use him as a healer more when necessary. And yes, Platinum is easy. The hardest trophy IMO is the "one of every item" one. :\ -- Imjon 01:54, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
I guess I should go back and fight more battles, huh? I always try to avoid the unnecessary ones, unless I really need something. I have gil (99 potions, 15 phoenix downs, and a little of the other stuff) I just need CP X( I was also thinking of making Fang a Commando instead of a Sentinel. --E-123Wario54 02:00, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
You should fight every battle you see, for a while. By the time I got to the boss you're at, I had two Types (forgot what they're called) as far as they would go for Light, Fang and Hope. :O Did you not do any missions on the Steppe? -- Imjon 02:03, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
I don't know, I fight enemies once in awhile, I guess. I frequently upgrade weapons and accessories, too. I'm just worried about the final boss, even though I'm not too close to it. Doesn't Orphan put a doom clock on you? --E-123Wario54 02:12, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
I'm not sure if Orphan does, but I wouldn't doubt it :P Anyway, you should definitely just grind some CP. Backtrack to the Steppe and do some missions there, that way you'll open up Waypoints so you don't have to backtrack so much. -- Imjon 02:21, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Ah, ok. I'll try backtracking as much as I can, then. I need to get to work on some more missions. --E-123Wario54 02:26, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Hehe, okay. You should get on the IRC for a sec. -- Imjon 02:27, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

Ice Glen Alley[edit] Translate from the map name

Best of luck![edit]

Hi! I saw your About Me box, and application for Rollbacker, so I thought I'd drop by and leave you a message. The box, to be honest, was the result of a lot of messing about with wiki markup, but it just seemed to come out right in the end. I like to test out the markup a lot, you see. Of course, you're more than welcome to use it! Now, as a Rollbacker, you'll have more tools to fight vandals. Look at the recent changes. Once you're a Rollbacker, you'll notice a little red exclamation mark beside recent edits. This means that an admin hasn't patrolled the edit. You can use the diff button to check out the changes made to these pages, and decide whether or not to revert the edits. Vandalism is usually easy to spot, because it's usually something like a blanked page, or nonsense, or out-of-place profanities. Just use common sense, and you'll know what to do. Best of luck, Moydow (talk) 22:27, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

I saw it every time I went to your Userpage and was extremely jealous: I liked the format and layout of the box, so I stole it and gave you credits. :P
And thank you for the pre-Welcome and tips to being a Rollbacker! That's so very thoughtful and helpful of you. I've seen my fair share of vandalism, so I think I'll fit right in. :)

-- Imjon 23:30, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

Hey Imjon. It's just a formality, but go ahead an put your request on StrategyWiki:Requests for permissions/Rollback. I don't think any of us are going to object. You've been doing a great job, keep up the good work. Procyon 02:52, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks Procyon! But... Erm, where on StrategyWiki:Requests for permissions/Rollback should I put it? -- Imjon 02:56, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

I like the little box-in-a-box you used for the consoles. Happy to be of help! :) Congratulations on becoming a Rollbacker! I knew you'd get it, your edits are always of great quality and you've used the Undo tool to great effect as well. Let me know if you need anything! Moydow (talk) 08:19, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

Hah, thanks. I had the console box before and I liked the way it looked so... I figured out a way to keep it. :)
And thank you so much for everything. -- Imjon 08:22, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
If you have any problems or whatnot, feel free to come onto IRC. In addition, you'll likely find the Rollbacker section of the admin guide useful if you aren't entirely sure what it all entails or our guidelines on using it. And, feel free to also leave messages on my or any other admin's talk page if you want to talk directly with one of us. --Skizzerz 08:40, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

Hey, I was hoping you could give me some direction so I can start cleaning things up. I'd really like to know what is going with MapleStory/Skills/Blessing of Fairy. Do we really need to start making whole pages for skills? Check the edit summaries for User:FlyXwing's rationale and see what you think. Secondly, we really need to figure out what to do about Dual Blade. If the info is going to be included with the Thief guide, then we should take off Dual Blade links from the ToC. If it's not a cut-and-dried decision, then maybe a discussion on the MS talk page is in order? Hopefully User:Spadow, you and some of the other regular MS editors can hash it out. Let me know when I can start merging/deleting! :D

Of less importance, if you ever need a bunch of little edits done, like Ereb→Ereve changes, leave me a note and I'll scrub the whole guide with AWB. Also, your Pokémon personality test result isn't floating right, 'cause you're missing two answers somehow. o_O — najzereT 17:07, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

Hiya Naj. MapleStory/Skills/Blessing of Fairy is a really just a pointless page. The skill is already listed on MapleStory/Beginner/Skills, and that's where it really belongs. I'm thinking of expanding on that page anyway. About Dual Blade... I think a discussion on the MS talk page would be a fine idea; see what people other Zienth(t) and I think about it.
There were only a couple "Ereb"s so I just fixed them manually. But duly noted, thanks. And I wonder how I missed two answers... I guess I'll re-do that sometime in the next few days... Did you count all my y's and n's or something? O: -- Imjon 18:37, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
I copy/pasted Moydow's answers after yours and saw it was two answers longer. :P — najzereT 19:20, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
Oh, right. Good idea. And yay, no more /Blessing :> -- Imjon 19:27, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

Rolling back non-vandalism[edit]

Hi, in regards to this rollback, please be careful when rolling back non-vandalism, especially from a user. If it's just misplaced (or even worse, incorrect), it's better to use an undo with your rationale in the edit summary. That way random patrollers like me and the user you revert know what's going on. Thanks, and keep up the great cleanup work! :D — najzereT 06:20, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I realized after I hit rollback that I should have undo'd with a reason instead. As for my rationale (though it being pointless now), I removed it because that information is already located in its own page, Power Plant. -- Imjon 06:25, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
EDIT: I thought about it, and decided to undo my rollback. This won't happen again. :) -- Imjon 06:38, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
No worries; I trusted you were doing the right thing, I was just wondering what it was. :P — najzereT 07:35, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

MS: frequented pages[edit]

Here are the top 10 maplestory pages in order of most viewed:

  1. MapleStory
  2. MapleStory/Evan Guide
  3. MapleStory/Quests
  4. MapleStory/Quests/Victoria Island
  5. MapleStory/Evan Guide/Skills
  6. MapleStory/Jobs
  7. MapleStory/Aran Guide
  8. MapleStory/Aran Guide/Builds
  9. MapleStory/Evan Guide/Builds
  10. MapleStory/Monsters

-- Prod (Talk) 17:22, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Short answer, all of them. I'd prefer a blank page to a mostly empty stub page, but the Evans Quest page would do well with more content. -- Prod (Talk) 23:45, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver/National Dex[edit]

Hi, if the information is correct on the page, then we can use it since it's just data (not copyrightable if we use our own presentation). I would have put it into a table already, but I have no idea what that page is all about. Is the info good? — najzereT 21:23, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

I didn't mean it as a copyvio. I meant it's just a straight copy/paste and thus, not easily readable. It's fine information, just not displayed in a good manner. -- Imjon 22:53, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
OIC. Well, we'll just clean it up then! :P — najzereT 23:19, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
Mmmkay. :D -- Imjon 03:48, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
EDIT: Nice job on the wikification of it. Did you really do all that in eight minutes? O_O -- Imjon 05:08, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
Yeah it doesn't take long with the find and replace script and regular expressions. :D — najzereT 21:30, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
I figured it was FaR but I didn't understand how you could do it with different information and whatnot. O: -- Imjon 17:32, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
Ah, well it takes a little practice, but I find the most useful thing to search on are newline characters ("\n") when you need to add wiki markup. Let me know if you need any help! — najzereT 23:13, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
Ooh, \n, didn't even think about newline. Mmkay, thanks. :P -- Imjon 23:22, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

Actually, this page exists (less the base stats) on Pokémon/Pokédex. The stats given on Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver/National Dex are all good info, though, and consistent throughout all Pokémon games, so I would suggest putting that info in Pokémon/Pokédex, and then that page could be transcluded/substituted wherever it's needed (similar to Pokémon/Breeding). What do you think? Moydow T · C · Boxes 23:33, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

I think that's fine for the National Dex, I think that page needs reformatting on it's own though.  JepjrT 12:39, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

MS Images[edit]

Thank you! I just spent like 30 minutes messing with images and then I was searching for a .wz extractor, but I know a few of us on here have access to the files, so I'm glad I didn't have to ask around. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 20:32, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

You're welcome! Lemme know if you need anything in that nature in the future. :) -- Imjon 20:34, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

I just wanted to show that Mechanic was fully confirmed, just not released. The box on the bottom of the page must remain the same but the info that I added in the center can be removed. --Zienth 03:39, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Nah. It's alright, I mindlessly jumped to the Time Temple page figuring that it would be better to start now since its going to take a while to revise all of the pages. However do you have any ideas on how to fix all the pages since it will collide with all other current data? --Zienth 03:46, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
I have an idea for the skills pages. To separate both areas of development without interfering with the original text, lets put them into a box. Surrounding the placing this around them.

{*{MapleStory/Skill desc||||| "SKILLS" |}}

The * is inbetween the {{ so I can visibly show you what I mean. What do you think? --Zienth 23:00, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Big Bang Revamp[edit]

Lets get started. :P [[2]]

Should we make a sub/sub section for some the skills, locations, and mobs, to organize it better and not have 5 mb pages?--Zienth 21:40, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I was thinking we could just do it all on one page (for now, at least). :D -- Imjon (talk) 03:35, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
EDIT: Except, I don't think that it doesn't belong under Jobs in the ToC.
EDIT2: Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I just realized what you did/meant. Okay. That works great. -- Imjon (talk) 05:31, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Kerning Night Market[edit]

Sorry about editing GMS to Yes, and upon research on Google, it has not yet been released.

The only reason why I marked it as "Yes" is because someone added a footnote link to the GMS box of the actual Night Market saying: "Kerning Night Market was added instead." (footnote 84). I'll let you edit it out and make any more Night Market modifications for now.

Sorry for the confusion. --SlipNSlide 03:00, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

I'm still new to all this as I haven't been really active in the past. Anything else you need let me know. :) I hope this is how you reply, by editing the section. :P --SlipNSlide 03:16, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

AS images[edit]

How are you obtaining those Alien Swarm images? Are you just screenshotting them? Or...? -- Imjon (talk) 05:04, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Yes, mostly screenshots. The rest I get from the Steam community pages (achievements, stats, etc.) — TheTwantalk 19:18, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

^_^ So are you familiar with the KH series? --E-123Wario54The Temple of Talk  07:05, 22 November 2010 (CST)

It's probably smarter to go on without a PSP. It's a huge investment for something that gets dusty so fast. I got the PSP only a few weeks after it was launched, and playing Birth by Sleep was the first time I played my PSP in such a long time. The DS is much better in my opinion. I really want to try Days. D: But I'm still trying to beat II at the moment. --E-123Wario54The Temple of Talk  17:15, 23 November 2010 (CST)
I'm on Xigbar. He's a real pain. >.> --E-123Wario54The Temple of Talk  22:03, 23 November 2010 (CST)

In an American interview about Big Bang, GMS claimed there to be a new area known as Elsteam (not Edelstein). You can leave it if you want, but I highly suggest you put it back. I know it will be back by the seventh. ;) -- No Account

I'm aware of the interview, and I'm not sure where they got Elsteam from. It's Edelstein in Global. — Imjon (talk) 18:45, 5 December 2010 (CST)
