Welcome to StrategyWiki!

Hello JeffMandM! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide or ask a sysop, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums. To keep up-to-date with the goings on of the wiki, consider adding the noticeboard to your watchlist.

Please remember to sign your name when leaving comments on talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Image categorisation

When uploading images, please make sure to categorise them using the correct image categories and the guide-specific category, i.e. [[Category:Game Name images]]. Please see our image policy for more details. Thanks for helping to keep our images neat! — Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:06, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

- Understood. My apologies. --JeffMandM (talk) 22:35, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for your work. These messages serve as reminders, not warnings. As you increase your efficiency at working towards your own goals, while maintaining our standards, you will lessen the load on all parties involved: you, other volunteers here, and the server (fewer edits involved). --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 05:38, 15 May 2015 (UTC)

Duplicate box art

If a game's box art is indentical between consoles, besides the generic console labeling, we opt to not have duplicates, to save space. E.g. it was a waste of time and space to upload the Xbox, GC, and early PS2 cover of MVP Baseball 2005 when the same box art is present with the Windows box art already there. I used to do the same thing, so no worries. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 02:28, 18 May 2015 (UTC)

Main page descriptions

Hi JM&M, thanks for creating the new guide front pages for various games. If you wouldn't mind, could you please include a brief description about the game? It doesn't matter if you liberally lift information directly from Wikipedia, that's what most of us do anyway. Procyon 17:45, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

Series templates

I've made some changes to the templates you've created based on wikipedia information. Should {{Major League Baseball 2K}} be renamed to {{Major League Baseball}}?

It depends, really. From my experience with older games, the series was a follow-up to the Genesis, 32X, Saturn, and Dreamcast World Series Baseball series. When SEGA gave the rights to 2K Sports, the series was renamed, so unless you'd be combining the series into one big one that includes the older games, a la Madden NFL, which started out as John Madden Football, then it probably should. I'm not for sure, though so do what you think is best. The only reason I made the template two separate ones was for the above reason of it starting out as a different series. The reason I ask is since you included Major League Baseball as a part of the MLB 2K series. Looking at wp:World Series Baseball, it seems that game doesn't really match either set of names. I have no issues either way (single series for all, or two separate series with the current names). -- Prod (talk) 17:21, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
The one shown with the wikipedia article is the Genesis game, which was released in 1995, and as more of the games were released (as far as World Series Baseball 2K goes) it started to lean towards where Sega released the rights to 2K Sports and the name changed. ESPN Major League Baseball is essentially MLB 2K4, so I'd say we could probably just combine them into one series. JeffMandM (talk) 19:38, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
