Banned[edit]

You are clearly here to cause a disturbance as you have on Wikipedia and Bulbapedia. If you thought that we would waste our time going back and forth with you as you pretend to be a confused new user, you were wrong. Your only hope now is that a more lenient administrator will reverse your block. - najzereT 09:13, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit]

Hello Launchballer! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide. If you have a question about the content on this wiki, you can check out our staff lounge page. If you want to ask questions or hang out in IRC, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums. Please remember to sign your name on, and only on, talk pages by clicking   or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field as this helps to document all of your hard work. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! -- Thomas Michael William Patrick Sales (talk) (contributions) (email) 16:33, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Welcome messages[edit]

Please don't use the Welcome template on new users in bulk. The template is meant to welcome users that have signed up for the wiki and contributed, rather than being used in a robotic fashion on those who have signed up for an account. --Sigma 7 17:16, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

What do you mean in bulk? Welcoming other users keeps me busy until I can find something else. The idea is to deliberately flood the recent changes.--Thomas Michael William Patrick Sales (talk) (contributions) (email) 17:18, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
We don't welcome users until they have contributed something. That's why the welcome message thanks them for their contribution. Stop welcoming people or you'll face a ban. - najzereT 17:19, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Why?--Thomas Michael William Patrick Sales (talk) (contributions) (email) 17:21, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Because lots of users sign up but never use the account. If they aren't going to edit it's pointless to welcome them. -- Prod (Talk) 05:52, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Right, so if I welcome users who have contribs there'd be no issues, ok?--Thomas Michael William Patrick Sales (talk) (contributions) (email) 15:56, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
NO. If I see you welcoming any new users, you will be banned for one day for every user that you welcome. When you have made significant contributions to the site and have become a full member of the community, then we will allow you to welcome new users. I don't care how many other wikis you belong to, you are new to this wiki, and are therefore not eligible to welcome other new users at this time. Please keep your contributions to guide based info only. These are the conditions under which you may edit. Take them or leave them. Procyon 17:25, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, my mistake. I thought I was being useful...--Thomas Michael William Patrick Sales (talk) (contributions) (email) 17:56, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Please be useful by contributing much needed video game information. If there are games that you like which have little or no information on this site, we would love it if you could add them. That is how you could be useful, and that is how you can become a valued member of this community. Procyon 19:17, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
I own several game guides which may be of use if I were to screendump the pages and put 'em on 'ere as sources.--Thomas Michael William Patrick Sales (talk) (contributions) (email) 07:22, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
We neither need nor want screendumps from guides. Any files displaying scans from a guide would be deleted due to copyright violation. You're free to use the guides as a source of information, but how you express that information (i.e. your writing and display styles) should be uniquely your own. Contributing here is very simple: just read the StrategyWiki guide and use the guidelines found therein to add any information you may know about a game in the appropriate places. - najzereT 07:36, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
Oh, right. I'll just manually type it out from them, then.--Thomas Michael William Patrick Sales (talk) (contributions) (email) 08:33, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Revert[edit]

For the headings, you should use ! instead of |, I just fixed this.--Rocky (talk · contribs) 17:31, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

I'm afraid I can't understand why.--Thomas Michael William Patrick Sales (talk) (contributions) (email) 17:33, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
It's called a table header. Look it up. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 01:30, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Slow down[edit]

Look, you're a brand new user, and while we appreciate your contributions to guide, it is best if you leave interactions with new users to the staff of this site. When you have been here for a substantial amount of time, and understand how we operate the site, it will be more acceptable for you to welcome users. Until that time, please restrict your work to only contributing video game related information. We will ban you if we feel you are making a bad impression on other users, or misrepresenting the staff on this site. If you have any question about our policies or guide formatting, please feel free to ask in the Staff Lounge or on the forums. Thank you. Procyon 17:45, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

I'd prefer it if you tell me what I'm doing wrong before you ban me so I know what to stop doing. Also, I can't see how I am misinterpreting the staff or making a bad impression on other users. As to why I am going so quickly is because I only just discovered this site. As I alternate between several wikis what will probably happen is that I won't edit that often, but when I do I usually edit in bulk.--Thomas Michael William Patrick Sales (talk) (contributions) (email) 17:49, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
I don't really care if you understand why I'm telling you to do something. I simply expect you to follow the rules, or leave the site. It's that simple. We do not owe you an explanation for our decisions. You either abide by them, or you don't contribute at all. I hope that I have been clear. Procyon 17:53, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
A lot of discussion has gone into many of the decisions implemented on the site. Feel free to ask, but a lot of the info is in the guide. -- Prod (Talk) 05:52, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
