EVO: The Search For Eden
Have you ever played that game? My room mate was going through all of the old SNES games he has on his X-Box and started playing it. It's like 2D side-scrolling Spore. You start out as a little fish and evolve your way up to a man with a club. Stub template
I noticed you've been moving stub templates to the bottom of articles. Is there any particular reason for this, when they're supposed to go at the top? :-P --DrBob (Talk) 08:52, 30 June 2006 (PDT)
- Hmmm...I didn't know they were "supposed" to go at the top. I see it's on the stub template page, but I don't see a place where it was a generally accepted standard. Putting stub messages (which are for editors, not readers) at the top seems like bad practice (a reason wikipedia doesn't do that) because it is distracting, and in some pages, quite ugly. If there has been a discussion about this that I didn't see, then I'll fix those changes and kick off the discussion again, I really don't see a reason to put it at the top though, especially when it is already quite obtrusive (even at the bottom). -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 08:55, 30 June 2006 (PDT)
- There has been no discussion: I just put them at the top because almost all other templates go at the top. I can't see a problem with it, and as we're still growing (hopefully) many of our readers will do editing, and thus the template is relevant. - I didn't say that nothing should tell them to contribute, I just don't think a 4 text line high colorful box is necessary as the first thing someone reads for a guide. And I am certain it isn't necessary as the first thing someone reads on category:Xbox. It doesn't really bother me as much for guides, but my recent moves were almost all system categories (because I was finding out which ones had the infobox which I had edited). There are a lot of guides that have the wip template, and the stub template, and then a few lines of text, why both? That seems kind of stupid to me, and very annoying to those people who may be looking for the bit of info that IS there. While it'd be great if everyone looking for info was also interested and willing to add something, if this site grows large enough, only a small minority of those people who see that message will even know what a stub is, let alone be willing to edit it. I've been trying to get the infobox template to have optional parameters. User:Prod/Infobox is my latest try. The problem seems to be that the qif is changing my '<' and '>' to the entity codes so that they aren't rendered as HTML. For testing, the template is used on my user page. Eggerland
Since you said you wanted to help me move some stuff over from other Wikis, there's another major article I wanted to move over from WikiKnowledge. Actually, I originally created this on WikiBooks, but copied it to Knowledge as well. Anyhow, it's an overall guide/reference to all the games in the Eggerland series (Adventures of Lolo in North America and Europe, except for one or two titles), and it goes into a lot of helpful details about the games, including some unreleased games. With the way it's designed now, it still leaves room for people to create in-depth walkthroughs if they want to, although I never took the time to do so, mainly because the games are very, very long (the longest one, Revival! Eggerland, having 192 rooms).

Also, I have a Work in Progress that I have been designing on WikiKnowledge that is essentially a reference for the Mega Man series, the Mega Man Timeline, which describes the events of each game in detail (but it is not finished yet). Thanks for your work in moving this article over from WikiKnowledge, Mason11987! I noticed that some of the Japanese names for the games were displaying as "????????," so I went and copied the original Japanese characters back over to correct the problem. My PC Games
Sometime I may include a listing of my PC games. The one thing I will have to take into account, however, is whether I own a physical copy of the game still or not. In otherwords- do I still own the original floppy or CD or have I lost it? If I no longer own the original media then I most likely will not include the game on my list.
Also, it would take far to long to document the thousands of ROMs that I have on my PC- for example, I have a copy of every NES game in every available language (plus every hack), which alone comes out to around 11,000 files!
Anyhow, I will list games such as The 7th Guest, Myst, Riven, Myst III: Exile, Myst IV: Revelation, Myst V: End of Ages, Hexen, Star Wars Galaxies, Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy XI, Guild Wars, Guild Wars: Factions, and Rockman X8 for example.

Download Statusbar (downloads in statusbar instead of window), flashgot (for use with getright), forecastfox (weather), greasemonkey (some scripts, i think there are some wiki-specific ones here), image zoom, menux (maximize screen space), nightly tester tools (lets you use extensions which haven't been verified for the current version), statusbar clock (obvious), swifttabs (instead of gestures just press one button on the keyboard), tabbrowser prefs (advanced tab management), and video downloader. - Ah, the clock, I auto-hide my start menu :P. With swifttabs, you can assign any key to back, forward, and close top. I've got it set to F1, F2, and F3 respectively, though almost any key can be used. - Yes, yes it would. BUT I think June 5 looks nicer, and I'm about to go on a quest to create all the days that don't exist yet, therefore making organization of "new day categories" unneeded. The way I see it is that June 5 looks a little nicer then June 05, and the amount of work needed for June 5 to sort correctly with June 15 is limited to editing 366 pages.
