HM64

Nice work on the Harvest Moon 64 guide! Just make sure to use [[Category:Harvest Moon 64 images]] instead of [[Category:HM64 images]], since that's the full game name. Keep up the good work. ^_^ --E-123Wario54^{The Temple of Talk} 03:41, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

I noticed you removed Harvest Moon 64/Girls and marriage from the ToC. Did you not use any content from that page when creating yours? The page really should have been renamed instead of orphaned so that any sourcing/history is kept intact. -- Prod (Talk) 04:08, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Shall I merge the history of the Girls and Marriage page to the Characters page? If you need to rename a page, there's a "Move" link at the top of most pages. I just linked the getting started page in the ToC. Unless that page is deleted, things should be fine as is. Merging histories is only relevant if a page is being deleted. -- Prod (Talk) 00:03, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Adding pictures

When adding images, can you put them on new lines? Adding them inside a paragraph makes it harder to find them, and the parser will split sections around it into separate paragraphs when laying out anyway. Here's a diff of some suggested changes. -- Prod (Talk) 18:44, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

No problem. These images really help bring the guides to life, nice work with that! Also, if you put {{-}} before a section header, it'll make sure that images don't push down into that section. -- Prod (Talk) 20:34, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

One other thing is that we try to avoid setting sizes on thumbnails, since it overrides what some people set in their preferences. If you need the specific sizing, then it's fine, otherwise try to avoid it. Also, not sure if you've seen it, but we have a gallery tag for showing a bunch of images together. -- Prod (Talk) 21:37, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Naming Pages

It's the difference between "Naming Pages" and "Naming pages". Essentially, only capitalize the nouns and first word. We also try to keep the page names as simple as possible. For example, the word "chart" isn't necessary. The page is about character locations, and the reader has to trust the author to pick the best layout. Similarly, the word "list" is generally redundant. Also, there's very few restrictions on page names, so it's generally easier to have the page name be the same as the link in the ToC. It may be a bit longer, but it's clearer for everyone. The main exceptions to these rules are the Getting Started heading, and when the page name mirrors something from in game. For example, if a game has an extras section and they name the sections "Character List, Trophy List, etc.", then using the same in the guide is fine. AoE & PoV

The AoE guide is having a good start. If you want the guide to look shinier though you should review the pages you wrote and try to eliminate any first person pronouns (i.e "I think now's your chance to upgrade" to "Now's your chance to upgrade"). Game titles/disambiguations

Hi Oddtom,

For games that share the same title with another game, e.g. Where in the U.S.A. is Carmen Sandiego?, the first game that uses the name does not need the year after it. Additional titles require some way to disambiguate it, and as you've done, the year is appropriate in some cases (such as this one). The second title can stay, but the original one you started should omit the year, which I will do for you. Achievement walkthroughs

The best thing to do is to link the description (or the name, there's no standard for this yet) to a section in the walkthrough where it is detailed. For example on Portal/Achievements, we see both linked names (Camera Shy and Transmission Received) as well as links in the description field for Terminal Velocity and Long Jump. For these, we actually have details on the walkthrough pages, and the specific page for these achievements serve as an index for the locations of the achievement requirements. --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 17:03, 16 January 2013 (UTC)

Amazing Spider-Man

Hi User:Oddtom!

• Your guide is great, thanks.
• I fixed your score calculation: there are 55 levels (you might have counted Mission Control and Weighting Room twice. However, you don't get points for entering them again in Take 6). Also, there are bonus points for completing the game.
• I managed to achieve a score of 12,626. If I find a way to beat Puzzle Room and Into the Sewer unharmed then I may be able to complete a perfect game of 12,868. But I suspect it is impossible.

Regarding Harvest Moon 64/References, most of the content on those pages is within our scope. But as you've vetted the content, the best place is probably the talk page.
