Image Problem.

I was editing the move list for Duck King in Real Bout Fatal Fury, but for whatever reason his picture didn't show up. Can you help me?

Thank You. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kingofstreetfighters (talkcontribs) .

Dragon Spirit life bars

With regards to your edit of the Walkthrough page, I feel I should tell you the cabinet has a special "life" setting; by pushing Tab in MAME and picking "Dip Switches", you will find it (it is set to "2" by default, but can be upped to "3"). Namcorules (talk) 05:40, 8 January 2017 (UTC)

Japanese vs English titles

Hi Procyon. First of all, happy new year!

When I wrote to Sonic Hussein, I applied some psychology. I listed five corrections, and I expected him to follow just some of them, to probe what was really bothering him. As it turned out, he followed four out of five, leaving out just the less meaningful (Jap-Eng), and that is way better than what I hoped! I think he was too hasty in editing and too lazy to read all the website rules. If the guy avoided the ban, everybody wins.

About the English vs. Japanese titles, I know the Strategywiki policy and I agree with it. In fact, I used the subtle specification "the due priority", that is different from "an absolute priority". I explain. I feel that writing, e.g.: "Mega Man, also known as Rockman in Japan", sounds like: "Mega Man was made in a Western country, but the Japanese changed the title to Rockman"; so I would prefer, e.g.: "Mega Man was originally released in Japan as Rockman". It is just my whim, so I won't get anal about it. Therefore, I decided to leave alone the last edits by Hussein Sonic for the time being, even if "or known as" is outright wrong. --Abacos (talk) 10:44, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

Bruh.

Sooo.... why was the Melee tier list deleted? I was adding that in to be consistent with the Brawl page having it's tier list added, and I was gonna fill it in. I wasn't gonna leave it in it's current state!

I'll definitely look at point No. 2 again; I kind of forgot about that during my hiatus

And yeah, the bold-face was to draw attention; I'll see what I can do about that. Thanks for pointing that out so graciously; I really appreciate that, and I will fix the issue! Have a happy Easter, and God bless you!

EDIT: Oh yes, btw; what's the reasoning for marking a page as "Minor Edit"? Each edit requires you to provide a summary regardless, so I'm wondering if that's something for the mods?

Re: Signing and minor edits

Ah, I see. Good to know that I've been using the "Minor Edit" box correctly.

As for reducing the bold-face, it's my pleasure man. I want this guide to be as great as it can possibly be; so I'm more than happy for every bit of editing assistance you've got. Thank you so much, and God bless you.

When you update an image; how long does it take for the changes to take effect?

About a day ago, I realized I wanted to add more information to one of the images I uploaded, so I did so. But, looking at it, it seemed the updated image didn't reflect any of the changes I made; so I just assumed I accidentally uploaded an old version, and replaced it again. I got a message saying that I was uploading a duplicate, but I chose to save it anyway...

And then, lo and behold, the previous one suddenly had the changes I made...for some reason. So it seems to me like there's some sort of lag that happens before the first version is swapped out for the updated version; but I don't know how that works. Would you mind explaining that to me?

Thank you so much, and God bless you.

Right, I'll stop using that phrase. Sorry about that.

Any time there's something else you wish for, feel free to tell me, ok? Have a nice day!

I wish to update my guide so that it better keeps track of collectables; is it ok if I use the bold-face font for that?

So for example, instead of this specific passage reading like this...

Current Verson

Goowain can be recruited where the northwest Mini Medal is in the remakes!

I would want it to read more like this:

Updated Verson

Goowain can be recruited where the 24th Mini Medal is in the remakes!

Would that be ok? That's the convention that the latter half of my guide uses, but I could simply change the latter half if that's more desirable.

Re: Mini-Medals

Sounds good! I also updated the SNES Mini Medal icon to be higher quality; the original was fine, but I knew of a way to make it even better while still keeping it the exact same size. Thanks for all your help!

Saw your comment on my edit to Digimon World: Dawn And Dusk/Controls

What I said in email was that, it being my first edit on StrategyWiki, I felt it'd be less of a faux pas to reference a page with identical content rather than get someone angry at me for plagiarism of their work. EndymionMallorn (talk) 03:25, 28 April 2017 (UTC)

Re: Image Name

Yeah, that was a typo. I meant for the new name to be "DQ6 Murdaw's Keep Part 1.png"; but I guess I goofed. I was also typing that from my iPad, which is prone to crashing on Strategy Woki, so I forgot to use the Preview button, once again.

Templates for Dailymotion?

This is Fionordequester, and I'm now covering the final boss of Dragon Quest VI. He is by far the hardest, longest, most complicated fight in the game, so I wanted to make a video walkthrough of that fight like I did for the "VS. Murdaw, Round 2" page. Actually, I wanted to make two of them; one for those who followed the guide, and one for those who didn't.

However, Youtube does not allow annotations to be made anymore, so I can't commentate on everything happening in the fight like I could for the previous video; so I uploaded the two videos to Dailymotion instead. But it doesn't look like there's a template for Dailymotion.

Is there any possibility that one could be created, or is that something that would take a while to do? Thank you for your time.

Fionordequester (talk) 05:50, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

If you're looking to embed a Dailymotion video, you can find an example here. Just change the URL accordingly and that's it. Lukey140701 (talk) 21:41, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

Questions. mostly about Final Fantasy X

1. Can I use information from another wiki - wikia to be exact, to add to this walkthrough, if I don't use this information verbatim? Is most of the information on strategywiki user generated? meaning, it's completely researched on the user's part? Or are there other sites I can quote if I leave a source? 2. How do I know what type of information to add to a stub? I'm specifically referencing the main Final Fantasy X page, I would like to edit that, but I'm not sure where to start. 3. Are any walkthrough videos hosted on this site? Can we add personally made videos, or links to good walkthrough videos? Svrangerchrista (talk) 04:12, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

Why did you delete the sandbox?? Svrangerchrista (talk) 00:24, 27 May 2017 (UTC)

Pre-load buttons

The pre-load buttons.

In order to keep pages on the wiki neat and uniform, we employ certain formatting and templates to help us accomplish this. When creating a new page, please use one of the pre-load buttons located above the edit text box (e.g. click on "Guide page" to add {{Header Nav}} to the top and {{Footer Nav}} to the bottom), which will insert the needed templates and formatting for you. These templates are very handy because they include the templates that are required for each page type. If you are unsure about how to use them, or what pages to use them on, please let me know. Thanks for keeping the wiki organized! — Procyon 01:11, 13 July 2017 (UTC)

Every new page you added is missing the Header and Footer Navs. Could you please go back to each new page and add them to the top and bottom of the pages respectively? When editing the page, you can use the Guide markup insert box below the edit box. You'll see {{Header Nav|game={{subst:BASEPAGENAME}}}} and {{Footer Nav|game={{subst:BASEPAGENAME}}|prevpage=|nextpage=}} in there. Just click on them to insert them into the page. It would be nice if you could fill in the prevpage and nextpage links, but it's not required. Thanks. Procyon 01:11, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
Hello Procyon. I am sorry but I didn't knew that. I've created 18 pages and I would prefer to do it with AWB if possible (I know how to use it: I've more than 102,000 edits with SyntaxTerrorBot on WP.fr). I had the idea of adding links to the military units and other similar pages with it as it is lacking in the AoE2 walkthroughs.
Anyway, I will not do those edits tonight, it is 4:22 am here and I'll go to sleep soon...
Waiting for your answer and possibly my accreditation to use a bot on this wiki.
