Old user talk: User talk:The master of evil99

Hey Some Guy Named Moe, would you like to help out with the Super Smash Bros. Brawl guide when the game comes out. We're working on making it a large collaboration and would be enthusiastic if you could lend support. Check out this community issues section to learn more and put your name here to volunteer. If you know anybody else that would be willing to volunteer, please put a message on their talk page. --Ryan SchmidtTalk - Contribs 18:24, 22 February 2007 (CST)

If it isn't a game, it isn't special enough to get a page ;) -- Prod (Talk) 10:30, 24 February 2007 (CST)

'Controlls'[edit source]

When you create a new page, can you make it a subpage of the game it's of? Rather than Controlls that you've put down just now, it would have to be donkeykong/controls, although I do not know what Donkey Kong game you intended it by. For example, in the OoT it is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time/Controls, rather than just Controls - imagine the mess there would be if everyone tried to add the controls to everything on the one page! I've just written the above dead links in short hand so they shouldn't work, but the page you've just created needs to be moved. And it's spelled 'controls', not 'controlls'. It's not a problem, just move the page to where it should be and put a delete tag on the Controlls page. Keep up the contributing by the way! -Froglet 07:44, 18 March 2007 (CDT)

Images[edit source]

If you want to add images to pages, please use the file upload and upload the images to this server. -- Prod (Talk) 08:57, 22 April 2007 (CDT)

If you upload an image here, it is possible to click on the image to show an "un-resized" version (zoomable). There is also a template you can use for very large images (example is here). -- Prod (Talk) 13:05, 22 April 2007 (CDT)

Twilight Princess Images[edit source]

I'm glad that you're uploading some screenshots, please keep it up (if at all possible, could you upload screens from both the Wii and the GameCube versions, I'd like it if each guide had screens from its respective version?). However, the map of the Forest Temple that you've uploaded seemed to be taken directly from the Official Guidebook, which is a copyright violation, so I was forced to delete it. Unless you can prove that you've gotten permission to use such things here (and I've tried contacting them a few times to no avail myself), do not upload any images from it (not even screenshots, you can find some with better resolution online). Thanks, and leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions. --Safety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 13:34, 19 June 2007 (CDT)

When naming your uploaded images for TP, could you please do it in the format of TLoZ_TP_gc_image description.ext or TLoZ_TP_wii_image description.ext. I have plans in the future to have each version have their own set of screenshots, and this naming convention would help that along. Also, I use underscores instead of hyphens because underscores are the same as spaces in image names, and the space bar is a lot more accessible than the hyphen key. Of course, if you have any alternate suggestions for how they should be named, please contact me on my talk page. --Safety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 09:07, 6 August 2007 (CDT)

There is no such thing as a stupid question. As for the ToC, I couldn't even see it at all unless I went into editing. The reason is that you did not close off all the tags that you made (every <big> must have an </big>, and every <div> must have an </div>!). If you put down a <div> without an </div> later on, it messes up the entirety of the page, and the stuff around it. Also, the total of all div width's cannot add up to more than 99% (IE seems to have a problem with 100%, so 99% it is). I've fixed the table of contents for you. While the walkthrough is a bit long, it's not the longest and it also hides potential spoilers at the bottom. --Safety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 10:43, 18 July 2007 (CDT)

Header Nav[edit source]

Hi. When creating a new page, could you please use the "Guide page" template (linked above the editing area), or make sure you put a Header Nav on every page you create? They're essential for navigation, and all pages must have them. Thank you, and happy editing! --DrBob 11:20, 28 August 2007 (CDT)

User accounts[edit source]

No worries, good to have you back on your real account :). -- Prod (Talk) 23:51, 18 July 2008 (CDT)

<br> tags[edit source]

Please do not use <br> tags. Line breaks can be achieved by pressing the enter or return key twice, like so:

some line of text

some other line of text with a line break above it

As you may see, no <br> tags were needed in that. All these tags do is clutter up the editing box, so try to avoid using them. --Skizzerz (talk · contribs) 10:55, 19 July 2008 (CDT)

Try to avoid using images on the same lines as text. The images essentially show up as a separate "paragraph" when displayed, so it is easier to read in the markup if it's written that way as well. It also avoids problems with breaking the markup (like it was on that enemies page, the bullets in front of the description tag weren't parsed). -- Prod (Talk) 17:15, 19 July 2008 (CDT)

Yoshi's Story[edit source]

Perhaps a Category:Yoshi's Island might be useful since yoshi seems to be getting his own series of games. -- Prod (Talk) 17:10, 19 July 2008 (CDT)

Image categorisation[edit source]

When uploading images, please make sure to categorise them using the correct image categories and the guide-specific category, i.e. . The image policy is viewable here, and contains all the information you'll need to categorise future uploads. --najzereT 19:28, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
