Once Valkyrie and Kurino Sandra reappear in the middle of an island, start walking forward by pushing your joystick into the "northern" position as three Purple Goblins start walking towards you while throwing their spears at you; once you have fired a shot from your sword or trident at each of them to kill them, they'll each leave a small coin (worth five in gold) behind. Once you've collected all these, you will have to jump over a gap in the bridge, as three more Purple Goblins come walking towards you, while throwing their spears at you - and once you fire a shot from your sword or trident at each of them to kill them, they'll each leave a small coin behind. Once you have collected them all, you will have to jump over another gap in the bridge as three more Purple Goblins come walking towards you, while throwing their spears at you; once you've fired a shot from your sword or trident at each of these, to kill them, they'll each leave a small coin behind. You'll then have to jump over a third gap in the bridge, as three more Purple Goblins come walking towards you while throwing their spears at you - and once you've fired a shot from your sword or trident at each of them, to kill them, they will each leave a small coin behind. Once you have collected them all, you will come to a Talos, that is charging on the spot; once you have pushed your Firing Button to speak to it, it will speak the Hiragana and Katakana text Ore-sama ga ushi no tarosuda nanka mon ku aru ka! Kondo attara tadajaoganaizesassatoikana. (おれさまがうしのタロスだなんかもんくあるか! こんどあったらただじゃおがないぜさっさといかな.) to Valkyrie and Sandra, before proceeding to disappear. You will then come up to the Nazonazo Phantom, who will speak that Hiragana and Katakana text of Ore-sama ha nazonazo no meijin iza jōbuda! Kaku goshite kakaru ka yoi. Tarosu to Warukyūre to Sandora ashi ha zenbu de nanbo nda? (おれさまは なぞなぞの めいじん いざ じょうぶだ! かくごしてかかるかよい. タロスとワルキューレとサンドラ あしは ぜんぶで なんぼんだ?) to Valkyrie and Sandra (once he's seen them) before proceeding to ask them one of the three following "multiple-choice" questions - and you'll have to push the joystick into the "north-western" position to select answer A, the "northern" position to select answer B and the "north-eastern" position to select answer C then press the Firing Button to confirm your answer (the correct answers are here):

あしは ぜんぶでなんぼん? (Ashi ha zenbu de nanbo n?)
A: 8 ぼん (8 bon)
B: 9 ほん (9 hon)
C: 10 ぼん (10 bon)
Correct answer: A

どこに おまえは むかっているのか? (Doko ni omae ha mukatte iru no ka?)
A: みなみの しま (Minami no shima)
B: きたの いずみ (Kita no izumi)
C: サンドランド (Sando rando)
Correct answer: B

ここのおしろは なんからつくられたか? (Koko no o shiro ha nan kara tsukura reta ka?)
A: まほうのき (Ma hō no ki)
B: エメラルドのたまご (Emerarudo no tamago)
C: おうごんのたね (O u go n no tane)
Correct answer: C

If you answered the question correctly, the Nazonazo Phantom will speak that Hiragana text: Kuso ore-sama no makeda yakuso kudashi kata ga nai ma hō no moto wo yarō. (くそっ おれさまの まけだ やくそくだ しかたがない まほうの もとを やろう.) to Valkyrie and Sandra, before proceeding to grant them four circles on their magic meters; however, if you answered it incorrectly, he will speak that Hiragana and Katakana text of Hahha baka mo no me sei kai ha (A/B/C) da hāto ha moratta zo. (ハッハッ ばかものめ せいかいは (A/B/C)だ ハート はもらったぞ" to them before proceeding to take a full life-heart from the player who answered. This means: that if you should only have one life-heart (or even half a life-heart) remaining, answering the question incorrectly will cost you the game - and you will also have the chance to walk up to the Nazonazo Phantom and push your Firing Button to speak to him once you have answered his question (regardless of whether you'd answered it correctly or not) - and once you've done so, he will speak the Hiragana text Butsubutsu butsubutsu... (ぶつぶつ ぶつぶつ...) to Valkyrie and Sandra before proceeding to disappear (in a manner similar to that of the talking Talos from earlier).

You will then come to two Statues, that are spitting medium-sized fireballs from their mouths at you; once you have fired enough shots from your sword or trident at both of their heads, to destroy them, they will both leave a small coin behind. Once you have collected them both, continue walking forward by pushing the joystick into the "northern" position, as three Silver Robotians come walking towards you while firing lasers from their heads at you - and once you have fired enough shots from your sword or trident at each of these, to kill them (they will not leave anything behind for you), you will come up to a moustached monk in the centre of the screen. Once you have pushed your Firing Button to speak to him, he will speak the Hiragana and Katakana text Supūn no ue ni notte i janpu! (スプーンのうえにのっていジャンプ!) to Valkyrie and Sandra, before proceeding to disappear in a manner similar to that of the speaking Talos and the Nazonazo Phantom; you must then continue walking to the right by pushing the joystick into the "eastern" position as six more Silver Robotians come walking towards you while firing lasers from their heads at you. Once you've fired enough shots from your sword or trident at all of these to kill them, continue walking forward by pushing your joystick into the "northern" position as six Dadatta come walking towards you while swinging their maces around before throwing them at you - and once you've fired enough shots from your sword or trident at each of these, to kill them, they'll each leave a small coin behind. Once you have collected them all, three more Silver Robotians will come walking towards you, while firing lasers from their heads at you; once you've fired enough shots from your sword or trident at each of them to kill them, continue walking to the right by pushing the joystick into the "eastern" position as you come to an enormous brown spoon-like catapult. Once you have pressed your Jump Button while both of you are standing on this catapult, Valkyrie and Sandra will be propelled high into the air in a "western" direction (much like the Mario Brothers did when they jumped on a "Super Spring" in the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2) - and once they've landed, three Red Kaoxes will home in them while gnashing their teeth rapidly. Once you've fired enough shots from your sword or trident at each of them, to kill them, they will each leave four small coins behind; once you have collected all these, you will come to the travelling salesman Zoul in the centre of the screen. Once one player has walked up to him and entered his realm, the other one will automatically be drawn in as well, as the song being heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 fades to Zoul's own theme.

Once Valkyrie and Sandra have reappeared in Zoul's realm, he will speak the Hiragana text Irasshaimase (いらっしゃいませ) to them before proceeding to ask that first player to choose between: a 4-Way Shot (tail feathers) for 1000 in gold, a Through Shot (spear) for 2000 in gold, and a Homing Shot (crossbow) for 3000 in gold; push your joystick into the "north-western" position to select the first item, the "northern" position to select the second item, and the "north-eastern" position to select the third item, then press the Firing Button to confirm your choice. Once Valkyrie has paid Zoul for her chosen special weapon, he will ask the second player to choose between the two remaining items - and you cannot push the joystick into the positioning of the absent item. Once Sandra has paid Zoul for his chosen special weapon, both he and Valkyrie shall exit Zoul's realm (they can also do this voluntarily if they cannot afford to pay him for any of the three items he offers by pushing the joystick into the "southern" position), and reappear in the stage proper.

Once Valkyrie and Sandra have reappeared in the stage proper, you will have to jump onto a vertically-moving round platform in mid-air before jumping onto a second horizontally-moving round platform in mid-air; once you've done so, you must jump onto a third vertically-moving platform in mid-air, then jump onto a third solid platform. Once you have done this, you must continue walking forward by pushing your joystick into the "northern" position as six more Dadatta come walking towards you while swinging their maces around, before throwing them at you - and once you have fired out enough 4-Way, Through or Homing shots from your sword or trident at each of them to kill them they will each leave a small coin behind. Once you have collected them all continue walking to the right by pushing the joystick into the "eastern" position as four Blue Kaoxes home in on you while gnashing their teeth rapidly; once you've fired enough 4-Way, Through or Homing shots from your sword or trident at each of them, to kill them, they will each leave four small coins behind. Once you have collected them all, the double gates in the wall at the top of the screen will slide open - and once you have walked through them by pushing your joystick into the "northern" position, two more Red Kaoxes will home in on you while gnashing their teeth rapidly. Once you fire enough 4-Way, Through or Homing shots from your sword or trident at both of them, and kill them, they will both leave four small coins behind; once you collect them all, you will come to another enormous brown spoon-like catapult. Once you have pushed your Jump Button while both of you are standing on this second catapult, Valkyrie and Sandra will be propelled into the air in a "southern" direction - and once they land, they will come to a stone whirlpool with a Scissors sitting in its centre. As with the one from the second stage, it attacks by drawing Valkyrie and Sandra towards it while firing brown balls which will each leave a large coin (worth twenty in gold), behind when destroyed at them; once you've fired out enough 4-Way, Through, or Homing shots from your sword or trident at it to kill it it will leave ten small coins and ten money bags (worth fifty in gold) behind. Once you have collected them all, continue walking to the right by pushing your joystick into the "eastern" position as you come to three doorways in the wall at the top of the screen - and you must enter the second one first if you want Babasama to teach you the Chameleon spell when you reach that house he will be hiding out in for the next stage.

Once Valkyrie and Sandra have reappeared inside the dungeon the travelling salesman Zoul will be standing in front of them; again, when either player walks up to him then enters his realm, the other one will automatically get drawn in as well. Once Valkyrie and Sandra have reappeared in Zoul's realm, he will speak the Hiragana text Irasshaimase. (いらっしゃいませ) to them before proceeding to ask the first player to choose between a Heart Plate (pink playing-card heart) for 3000 in gold, a Sand Watch (hourglass) for 4000 in gold and a Dress (exactly what its name's suggesting) for 5000 in gold - and you must once again push your joystick into the "north-western" position to select the first item, the "northern" position to select the second item and the "north-eastern" position to select the third item, then press your Firing Button to confirm your choice. Once Valkyrie has paid Zoul for her chosen special weapon he will ask the second player to choose between the two remaining items; and you will again not be able to push the joystick into the position of the absent item. Once Sandra has paid Zoul for his chosen special weapon, both he and Valkyrie shall exit Zoul's realm (once again, they can also do it voluntarily if they cannot afford to pay him by pushing their joysticks into the "southern" position), and then reappear in the dungeon of the stage proper.

Once Valkyrie and Sandra reappear in the dungeon of the stage proper, start walking to the left by pushing the joystick into the "western" position as five more Purple Goblins emerge from the ground and start walking towards you while throwing their red bombs at you; once you have fired a shot from your sword or trident at each of these to kill them, they will each leave a small coin behind. Once you have collected them all, you will come up to a red chest (which contains a key) - and once you have opened it then collected the key, a pair of cell doors in the wall at the top of the screen will slide open. Once you've walked through them by pushing the joystick into the "northern" position, you'll come to a young woman (a palette-swap for that woman from that first hut in the first stage); once you have pushed your Firing Button to speak to her, she will speak the Hiragana text Yoku tasukete kuremashita konote ga mi wo motte sai hate mura no baba-sama wo tazunerudesu. (よくたすけてくれましたこのてがみをもってさいはてむらのばばさまをたずねるです.), to both Valkyrie and Sandra before proceeding to grant them an old scroll (which will take the place of that key in the display at the bottom of the screen). They must then walk back out of the cell by pushing the joystick into the "southern" position, and continue walking to the right by pushing the joystick into the "eastern" position, as ten more Purple Goblins emerge from the ground and start walking towards you while throwing their red bombs at you - and once you have fired a shot from your sword or trident at each of them to kill them, they will each leave a small coin behind. Once you have collected them all, you will come to a green chest (which contains a Wide Beam); once you have opened up, and collected the shield, another pair of cell doors in the wall at the top of the screen will slide open. Once you have walked through them by pushing the joystick into "northern" position, you will come to the elderly sorcerer Babasama - and once you have pushed your Firing Button to speak to him, he will speak the Hiragana texts Koko made kite kureta tatsu maki nojutsuwosazukeyō. (ここまできてくれたたつまきのじゅつをさずけよう) to Valkyrie and Sandra, before granting to them the Hurricane spell and four more circles on their magic meters (as with the Big spell, this spell is worth two full circles). Valkyrie and Sandra will then automatically exit the dungeon and reappear outside it before deciding on whether they should enter the first or third doorway in the wall (which both lead to the tops of towers on opposite sides of the screen); regardless of which one you choose, you will eventually end up at the same position in the stage, and have to continue from there.

If you entered the first doorway, Valkyrie and Sandra will reappear at the top of a tower on that left side of the screen; you will then have to jump onto a four-log platform in mid-air before jumping onto another four-log platform in mid-air. Once you've done so, you must jump onto a third three-log platform in mid-air, before jumping onto a fourth three-log platform in mid-air - and once you have done this, you will have to jump onto a fifth two-log platform in mid-air before proceeding to jump onto the top of the tower in the centre of the screen. If, however, you entered the third doorway, Valkyrie and Sandra will reappear at the top of another tower on the right side of the screen; there will also be another moustached monk standing in front of them and once you have pushed your Firing Button to speak to him, he will speak that Hiragana text Suberi dai wo tsukatte oriruga yoi. (すべりだいをつかっておりるがよい) to Valkyrie and Sandra before disappearing. You will then have to jump onto a four-log platform in mid-air before proceeding to jump onto a second three-log platform in mid-air - and once you've done so, you will have to jump onto a third one-log platform in mid-air, before proceeding to jump onto a fourth two-log platform in mid-air. Once you have done so, you will have to jump onto a fifth one-log platform in mid-air before jumping onto a sixth two-log platform in mid-air; once you have done so, you will have to jump onto the top of the aforementioned tower in the centre of the screen before sliding down a slippery slope of ice. Once Valkyrie and Sandra have reached the bottom of this slope, they will be propelled high up into the air in a "southern" direction for a second time - and once they have landed four more Blue Kaoxes will home in on them while gnashing their teeth rapidly. Once you have fired enough Wide shots from your sword or trident at each of these to kill them, they will each leave four small coins behind; once you collect them all, you'll come to eight Orange Honorians hovering in an anticlockwise direction around a pool of acid with a green chest (which contains ten money bags) on its central platform. Once you fire enough Wide shots from your sword or trident at each of them, to kill them, they'll each leave a small coin behind - and once you've collected them all, you will have to jump onto the central platform in the pool of acid, then open the aforementioned green chest. Once you have collected all the money bags and jumped off the central platform in the pool of acid, Valkyrie and Sandra must walk up through the enormous doorway in the wall at the top of the screen (which leads to a ballroom and their fourth boss encounter), as the song of the Yamaha YM-2151 changes.

Once Valkyrie and Sandra have reappeared inside the ballroom, ten dancing couples of two different colour palettes (five of one, and five of the other), will be waltzing around them; when you push your Firing Button to speak to a couple of one colour palette, they will speak that Hiragana and Katakana text A shimoto no tairu ni ki wo tsukete! (あしもとのタイルにきをつけて!), to Valkyrie and Sandra, before disintegrating into a pile of dust. However, when you push your Firing Button to speak to a couple of the other colour palette, they will speak the Hiragana and Katakana text Erekiman ni odora sa rete iru no. (エレキマンにおどらされているの) to Valkyrie and Sandra before disintegrating into a pile of dust - and once you've spoken to all ten couples and made them disintegrate, the lights will turn off, and the E.T. lookalike Erekiman will appear in front of Valkyrie and Sandra and speak the Hiragana text Omae-tachi ha nani monoda wa shinobu to kai wo dai nashi ni shiyo tte! (おまえたちは なにものだ わしの ぶとかいを だいなしに しよって!) to them before the "boss" theme starts to be heard from that Yamaha YM-2151 for a fourth time. He attacks by firing balls of electricity at them while banging his staff against the floor to electrify all the tiles of one colour (white or black) around him; once you have fired enough Wide shots at him, to defeat him, he will disintegrate into a pile of dust, like those ten dancing couples but on a much greater scale, and leave ten small coins behind. Once you have collected them all, two red chests will appear, at the top and bottom of the screen - and the one at the top contains ten money bags, while the one at the bottom contains five small "magic bubbles" (which are worth half a circle on your magic meter). So once you have opened both of the chests and collected all the money bags and "magic bubbles" they contained between you, the screen will fade out, and you will receive a 20000-point bonus and 800 in gold.

ひかりの よろいの (Hikari no yoroi no)
かけらをみつけました. (Kake-ra wo mitsukemashita.)

みっつにわれて あとはさいはてのむらに (Mittsu ni warete ato ha sai hate no mura ni)
はじけ とんだのです. (Hajike tonda nodesu.)

のろいの かかった さいはてのむらに (Noroi no ka katta sai hate no mura ni)
むかいました. (Mukaimashita.)

Once the screen has faded back in, it will immediately fade back out again, as Valkyrie and Sandra automatically proceed to that fifth stage, Sai Hate no Mura, without any special transition; if you did not gain the old scroll during this stage, Babasama will not be able to grant you the Chameleon spell on it.
