Since AdventureQuest is turn based, the game doesn't require reflexes at all, but rather an understanding of how the game works and how to take advantage of its quirks.

How to play

Everything in this game is played with the mouse, even the mini games, however only the left click is used.

Potions and Healing[edit]

Potions are vital for success when facing enemies with massive amounts of HP and for getting through long dungeons. In most cases there will be locations to refill potions or to receive healing. You can restore your potions by clicking on a bag of them or individual ones (like in the shops), or by finding additional ones in dungeons (mostly older dungeons).

Throughout the game you'll also notice that you can get healed fully at different times. This happens either explicitly (such as clicking a "Heal me" button, talking to someone like Twilly, or something else that's obvious) or at different special times (after certain battles or during a certain point in a series of fights, etc.). Make note of when you get healed without being told - these are events that only experienced players can take advantage of.

Temporary Items[edit]

The first weapon and armor slot in your inventory can never be replaced by something you choose - it remains default for your account type (normal or Guardian). However, throughout your adventures you can come across weapons and armor to replace the items in those first slots - these are temporary items that are removed when you quit the game.

Temporary items vary in strength, but are often applicable to the quest or event that they are given in. For example in the latest four way War for Darkovia you can use the Darklaw blade that helps defeat the monsters you face, however this weapon isn't as applicable to something like facing Carnax.
