Objectives

• Use Settlers to gather the wood on the hill to light the signal fire.

Main Strategy

Hard

Start off by upgrading your crossbowmen to Veteran Crossbowmen at the Barracks, make 5 at each of the other barracks while one is researching. Also click on an outpost and upgrade to Frontier Outpost. Have 3 settlers collect coin until it reaches 200, research Veteran Pikemen then send those settlers to gather food from the mill. Have about 10 gathering food and the rest gathering wood. Have 1 settler collect the treasures on the map you can see all of the Xes on the mini-map except one, which is inside the area where the settlers are (You can Shift and right click with the settler on each treasure so it atomatically goes to the next one. After you have collected all of the treasures, there is a hill in the North-West, send the settler to find it (it has a tower-like sructure on it). Keep your crossbowmen inside the walls so they don't get slaughtered while firing at the jassinaries from a distance, to the right of the main gate there will be a large group attacking one of the towers in the walls, use Morgan Black's Special ability to hit all of them then retreat inside the fort (leaving the crossbowmen to deal with them). Continue building crossbowmen to defend the walls and repair the front gate if you think it is necessary. When the cavalry are said to come, just continue building crossbowmen (they are melee units so they can't get the bowmen). Also send the 8 pikemen up onto the hill that the settler should have found (also put the settler on the hill as well). Now select 4 of the settlers nearest to the hill and press Ctrl + 1 on them to add them all to control group 1. When the announcement for bombards happens, press 1 and tell the settlers to go to the wooden crates near the signal fire. Also move the crossbowmen back to inside the fort as the bombard has a long range and a lot of splash damage. Wait until the wood has been collected near the signal fire and Alain will bring his cavlary in. You will get 16 Hussars, if you want kill all the units for a bit of XP (useful later on in the Campaign) then kill the 3 cannons to win.
