Stage 6[edit]

Akkanvader Stage 6.png

Once your two chosen ships have stopped moving forward, thirty Type 11 Invaders (which look a bit like tomatoes) will drop down into view, from the top of the screen; they shall then adopt what is a horizontally-bouncing formation as they descend towards the bottom of the screen. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, the text "STAGE 7" will appear on the screen (but the shields will not be restored - and this will be the first time this occurs in the SI series).

Stage 7[edit]

Akkanvader Stage 7.png

Once that text of "STAGE 7" has disappeared from the screen, thirty-two Type 12 Invaders and eight Type 13 Invaders (the latter of which look somewhat like an angrier version of Namco's Pac-Man) shall drop down into view, from the top of the screen; they shall then adopt a horizontally-moving formation as they descend towards the bottom of the screen, and when one of them is killed, all the remaining invaders in the column shall drop down to the bottom of the formation (this was first used by the invaders of MJ-12 in 1990). Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them your two chosen ships will start flying forward as twenty Type 14 Invaders fly into view from the left and right sides of the screen while firing a hail of bullets down at you - and once you have fired out a shot at each of these, to kill them, twenty-eight more Type 16 Invaders shall fly into view from the left and right sides of the screen, while firing a second hail of bullets down at you. Once you have fired a shot at each of these, to kill them, your two chosen ships will stop moving forward.

Stage 8[edit]

Akkanvader Stage 8.png

Once your two chosen ships have stopped moving on forward sixteen Type 15 Invaders, eight Type 16 Invaders, eight Type 17 Invaders, eight Type 18 Invaders and eight Type 19 Invaders shall "run" and drop down into view from the left side and top of the screen; they will then adopt a horizontally-moving formation as they descend towards the bottom of the screen. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, sixteen Type 20 Invaders will fly into view from the left and right sides of the screen while firing one hail of bullets down at you - and once you have fired a shot at each of them, to kill them, your two chosen ships will stop moving forward again as the text "STAGE 9" appears on the screen.

Stage 9[edit]

Once your two chosen ships have stopped moving forward, twenty-five Type 21 Invaders will "run" into view from the left side of the screen; they shall then adopt a vertically-moving formation as they descend towards the bottom of the screen. Once you fire three shots at each of these, to kill them (they're the first regular invaders to take multiple hits), your two chosen ships will start moving forward as the text "BONUS STAGE" appears on screen for the second time.

Stage 10 (Bonus Stage)[edit]

Akkanvader Stage 10.png

Sixteen Type 14 Invaders will fly into view from all four corners of the screen and form a letter "B"; once you have fired a shot at each of these (to kill them), twelve more Type 14 Invaders will fly into view from all four corners of the screen and form a letter "O". Once you have fired a shot at each of these (to kill them), thirteen more Type 14 Invaders will fly into view from all four corners of the screen, and form a letter "N" - and once you have fired a shot at each of these, to kill them eleven more Type 14 Invaders will fly into view from all four corners of the screen and form a letter "U". Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them thirteen more Type 14 Invaders will fly into view from all four corners of the screen and form a letter "S"; once you have fired a shot at each of these to kill them, you will receive 500 points for every Type 14 Invader you killed (the maximum is: 32500). The screen will then fade out - then fade back in again.

Stage 11[edit]

Once the game's "boss" theme starts to be heard from the ES-5505, for a second time, the text "WARNING!! A HUGE BATTLE SHIP #106780 YAMATO IS APPROACHING FAST" will appear on the screen (this is a reference to Darius); the second Boss Invader will now come down into view from the top of the screen and start firing a hail of bullets down at you from its three cannons. Once you have fired enough shots at each of them to destroy them it will start launching Type 22, 23, 24, and 25 Invaders at you (which shall adopt a horizontally-bouncing formation as they descend towards the bottom of the screen, so you shall have to kill them as well) - and the mechanical sturgeon upon the top of the ship will then start spitting five spreading bullets from its mouth at you. Once you have fired enough shots at it, to destroy it, that mechanical octopus on the top of the ship will start spitting five more spreading bullets from its mouth at you; once you have fired enough shots at it to destroy it, the entire ship will explode and you shall then receive 20000 points. The screen shall then fade out to that overworld map, as your two chosen pilots proceed to World 3 - Kōra Hoshi (こうら星) or Summer Star. This is the longest world in the game (it's comprised of eight stages as opposed to five, six or seven).

Note: If either, or both, of the players selects Benben and/or Penpen in both versions of the game, they will speak random toilet-related symbols instead of the standard phrases, and if either or both of the players selects Wanko and/or Nyanko in the Japanese version, they'll only speak the Hiragana texts of Wan (わん) and Nyan (にゃん), as they are Japanese onomatopoeia for barking and mewing; in the US version, where they were renamed to "Harry" and "Nancy" (the latter also becoming female), they'll only speak the texts "BOW" and "MEOW" instead, as they're English onomatopoeia for the same.
