Sega Genesis[edit]
Enter the following codes on the title screen. These will also work on the Wii Virtual Console and Switch Online versions of the Genesis game, as well as 3D Altered Beast on the Nintendo 3DS.

Continue code: allows you to continue your game from the last round you died in. Also enables the level select code after selecting a starting level from the options menu (see next entry).

Options menu: allows you to select the game difficulty, your maximum health, your starting lives, and what round you begin the game from. In order to start from any round other than the first, you must also use the continue code described above.

Sound test: Press these buttons together to enter a sound test mode.

Beast select Press these buttons together to enter a menu where you can choose which beasts you will transform into on each stage. It defaults to the usual selections, but you may alter them however you wish.

Continue code: Enter this code on the game over screen to continue your game from the last round you died in. However, this only works once. If you wish to continue a second time, you must hold  + instead, and so on until you have used up all four diagonals.

- Sound Test
- Press and hold
while pressing the Reset button on the console. By doing this, you should see the words "FREE PLAY" on the title screen. Now press and hold

to enter the sound test mode.
- Stage Select
- Press and hold while pressing the Reset button on the console. By doing this, you should see the words "FREE PLAY" on the title screen. Now press the
button once for each level you would like to skip.
- Hard mode
- After beating the game once, wait for 30 seconds on the "Asmik" logo and press to begin the game in hard mode.
