Resistances[edit | edit source]
Resistances reduce the amount of damage from a given attack, and can protect against special effects caused by that damage type. However, it does not necessarily protect items.
Many damage causing attacks can be resisted. Resistance causes the attack to do 1/3 normal damage. Adding an additional type of resistance (such as drinking a potion in addition to having a magic item) will reduce the damage to 1/9 normal damage. There are also a handful of items that will provide immunity to certain types of attacks.
