This is a guide to some of the terminology used in-game which is specific to Asheron's Call. For more general terms, see Multiplayer/Glossary.
- AB
- Town of Ayan Bakur, located in the Direlands of western Dereth
- AC
- Asheron's Call
- Aggro/aggro
- Aggression, to "notice" or attack a player/npc
- alchy
- alchemist
- Camping
- Waiting for treasure/monster to re-spawn.
- carebear
- non-PK player, variations: o.O
- Component, Comps
- Items used to cast spells.
- Decal
- a third party application used in conjunction with various "plugins" to enhance play, Turbine has a neutral stance on this program, not bannable unless the plugins used break the CoC or ToS
- Dereth
- The main Island in Asheron's Call.
- Direlands (AKA Dires) - A much harder area of dereth found in the west
- FC/Fast Cast
- refers to a break animation technique employed by some players who use the mage class, can make war spells cast at a faster rate
- Gear
- a long-dead third party program which was a hack that allowed users to run exceedingly faster than normal, often resulted in the user being banned
- Mage
- A character who uses magic
- Melee
- A character who uses melee weapons
- ML
- refers to Marae Lassel, an island north-west of Dereth, requires Asheron's Call: Dark Majesty expansion to access it
- Mule/Pack Mule
- A secondary character created for the purpose of storing items.
- Oldschool
- older players or older items, anything that was before the first expansion pack Dark Majesty or the early years after AC's initial release
- pots
- potions
- PP/Pre-Patch
- refers to items before they were "patched", these items are no longer attainable in-game in the pre-patch form and are usually considered more valuable
- Pyreals
- Money, the currency in Dereth.
- reds
- PKs
- Rubber-band
- When "lag" causes a character to spring back backwards/forwards, typically happens when the ac servers have become unstable.
- teth
- Fort Tethana, a large city located in the Direlands in western Dereth
- Toon
- short for character
- vet
- veteran or long-time player
