Controls[edit | edit source]
- Joystick: Use a joystick that is plugged into the Commodore 64's second gameport to make Augie Doggie walk left and right, crouch, and jump; you can also press RunStop to pause and resume the game, and Q to abort it (however, you should only abort it if you have no chance of winning).
Augie Doggie[edit | edit source]
The protagonist of the game, who had previously appeared in 1990's Yogi Bear and Friends in: The Greed Monster with his father Doggie Daddy, is on a mission to clear his house of pests (which can either be mice, bees, or beetles) while Doggie Daddy takes a nap; on each of the four stages he must crouch down while standing over the pests to catch them in his net (he may also do this while standing over pieces of cheese, Doggie Daddy's belongings, and watches to collect them for extra points and time, and if he collects eight pieces of cheese, indicated in the bottom-left of the screen, he will receive a bonus). However, he may only hold five pests at a time, so once his net is full he shall have to return to the start of the stage to free the ones he has caught - and he must also watch out for bats, balls, and bomb-dropping cats on paper aeroplanes, as all three of these dangers will cost him one of his five lives if they hit him. On the second stage, he must also catch falling plant pots, because they will slowly wake Doggie Daddy up (indicated by a pair of eyes to the right of the collected cheese pieces) if they hit the ground; if Doggie Daddy is fully woken up, he will say "Augie my son, try not to wake me again" (this will also cost Augie Doggie a life). If you should manage to clear all the stages, Doggie Daddy shall say "Well done Augie my son, you've cleared our house of pests".
