The time for all four stages starts at 3:00, but whenever Augie Doggie collects a watch by crouching down over it, it adds a minute to the remaining time.
Welcome to the game. Once Augie Doggie has appeared on the screen, you'll have to start walking to the right and crouch down over a piece of cheese to collect it for 125 points; once you have done so, you shall have to crouch down over a mouse while pressing the joystick's button to catch him for 150 points. You will then have to jump over a ball that is rolling back and forth, walk under two bats that are flying up and down above you, and crouch down over a second mouse while pressing the joystick's button to catch him for 150 more points - and once you have done so, you shall have to crouch down over another piece of cheese to collect it for 125 more points. You shall now have to walk under a third bat that is flying up and down (and a boomerang that is flying back and forth) above you, then crouch down over a pair of Doggie Daddy's socks while pressing the joystick's button to collect them for 50 points; once you've done so, you will have to crouch down over a third mouse while pressing the joystick's button, to catch him for 150 more points. You will now have to pass a furnace (while watching out for any lumps of coal flying out of it) and crouch down to collect a third piece of cheese for 125 more points - and once you have done so, you will have to jump over another ball that is rolling back and forth, and crouch down over Doggie Daddy's toupee while pushing the joystick's button to collect it for 50 more points. You will now have to walk under a fourth bat that's flying up and down above you, and crouch down over a fourth mouse while pressing the joystick's button to catch him for 150 more points; once you have done this, a cat shall fly into view from the right side of the screen on a paper aeroplane while dropping bombs on you, so you'll have to stand in a place where you know his bombs shall not land on you. Once he has passed you shall have to crouch down over a fourth piece of cheese to collect it for 125 more points - and once you have done this, you'll have to walk under a fifth bat which is flying up and down above you, and crouch down over a pair of Doggie Daddy's underpants while pressing the joystick's button to collect it for 50 more points. You'll now have to walk under a sixth bat that is flying up and down above you, and crouch down over a fifth mouse while pressing the joystick's button to catch him for 150 more points; once you've done so you shall have to retrace your steps back to the start of the stage (avoiding all the hazards) and walk off the left side of the screen to emerge from a hole and free the stage's first five mice.
Once Augie Doggie has reappeared in the basement, you will have to retrace your steps back to the right side of that sixth bat, walk under a seventh bat which is flying up and down above you (and past another furnace while again watching out for any lumps of coal flying out of it), and crouch down over a sixth mouse while pressing the joystick's button to catch him for 150 more points; once you have done so, another cat will fly into view from the right side of the screen on a paper aeroplane while dropping bombs on you so you shall again have to stand in a place where you know his bombs will not land on you. Once he has passed you shall have to crouch down over a fifth piece of cheese to collect it for 125 more points - and once you have done this, you will have to walk under another boomerang that is flying left and right above you and crouch down over a pair of Doggie Daddy's slippers while pressing the joystick's button to collect them for 50 more points. You shall then have to crouch down over a seventh mouse while pressing the joystick's button to catch him for 150 more points; once you have done so you will have to walk under an eighth bat that is flying up and down above you, jump over a third ball that is rolling back and forth, and crouch down over a sixth piece of cheese to collect it for 125 more points. You will now have to crouch down over an eighth mouse while pressing the joystick's button to catch him for 150 more points - and once you've done so, you shall have to pass a third furnace (while once again watching for any pieces of coal flying out of it) and crouch down over a seventh piece of cheese to collect it for 125 more points. You will then have to crouch down over a ninth mouse while pressing the joystick's button to catch him for 150 more points; once you have done so you will have to walk under a third boomerang that is flying back and forth above you, and crouch down over an eighth and final piece of cheese to collect it for 125 more points. You now have to walk under a ninth bat which is flying up and down above you, then crouch down over a tenth and final mouse while pressing the joystick's button to catch him for 150 more points - and once you have done it, you shall have to crouch down over a watch to collect it for an extra minute. A third cat will then fly into view from the right side of the screen on a paper aeroplane while dropping bombs on you, so you will once again have to stand in a place where you know his bombs will not land on you; once he's passed, you will again have to retrace your steps back to the start of the stage (again avoiding all the hazards) and walk off the left side of the screen to end this stage. You'll then receive a "Completion Bonus" of 1000 points, a "Cheese Bonus" of 100 points for each piece you collected and a "Time Bonus" of 10 points for each second you have remaining - and Augie Doggie shall now proceed to the second stage, in which the pests are bees (it also features falling plant pots which must be caught before they land, because they will slowly wake Doggie Daddy up from his nap if they are not, and if Doggie Daddy is fully woken up, it costs Augie Doggie a life).
