Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy start screen.png

You will first have to connect your Commodore 64 and cassette recorder to your television set, then switch all three of them on; once you have done so, you will have to place the cassette for Hi-Tec Software's Digital Design-developed 1991 action game Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy into the recorder, rewind it (unless it is your first time playing) and press Shift and RunStop together to load the program into the console. On the start screen shown above, you will have to push the joystick's button to start the game - and once you have done so, you will be treated to the opening cutscene for the first stage, "The Basement", in which the pests are mice. If you manage to clear this stage, you shall proceed to the second stage "Downstairs", in which the pests are bees; as well as the bees themselves, Augie Doggie must also catch falling flowerpots in this stage in order to avoid waking Doggie Daddy up (as it shall cost him a life if he does). On clearing the second stage, you will proceed to the third stage, "Upstairs", in which the pests are beetles - and if you manage to clear this stage, you will proceed to the fourth stage, "The Attic", in which the pests are mice again. On clearing the fourth stage, Doggie Daddy will say "Well done Augie my son, you've cleared our house of pests"; if your score was high enough the game will then go into high-score mode and once you have entered your initials on the high-score table by use of the letter keys on the C64's keyboard, the game will return to the start screen.
