Before dungeon 4

If you cleared the third dungeon fast enough, you should have enough time to purchase a Magic Shield and the Blue Ring at half price. This "special discount" lasts until 01:28. From dungeon 3, walk one screen west, then all the way north. Note, though, that you cannot go through the Lost Woods, a screen where the path is shaped as a cross. There, turn east and walk around: one screen north, one west. Enter the cave and buy the Blue Ring . A Magic Shield File:BS Zelda Magic Shield.png can be purchased in the same shop where you bought the Blue Candle.

Dungeon four can be accessed from the pier just east from the Blue Ring shop.

Dungeon 4

1. Compass

Go west from the entrance. Defeat the enemies and get the Compass.

2. Map

From the entrance, go north one rooms and collect a key. Then, go north, use a bomb on the east wall and collect a second key. Go west, north, east, and collect the map in that room.

3. Hint

Go back one room, then all the way north, one east, another one north and one more east. The Old Man gives you this advice: "There are beings weak to sound".

4. Ocarina

Go two rooms west, defeat all enemies, collect the key, then push a block on the left. Access the secret room and get the Ocarina. It can instantly defeat some enemies with big ears, and it will also weaken the boss of this dungeon.

5. Bombs

Back in the room, blast the east wall with a bomb and purchase a larger bomb bag for 50 Rupees. Your bomb bag capacity is now increased from 8 to 12 bombs.

6. Heart Container and Triforce piece

Backtrack two rooms east and one south. Use a key and open the south door. Continue south, get through the passage, then continue to the boss room.

Use the Ocarina, and Digdogger will split into three smaller creatures that you can defeat using the sword. After your victory, collect its Heart Container and the Triforce in the next room.

After dungeon 4

After the fourth dungeon, and especially after 01:45, it is good time to collect the White Sword, as it can be done easily. From the fourth dungeon, cross the lake and go one further screen south into the Lost Woods. Go west and then all the way north. When you get to the graveyard, push one of the two tombstones in the middle. Enter the secret room and the Old Man grants you the White Sword .
