Bakuretsu Quiz Ma-Q Dai-Bouken (爆裂クイズ魔Q大冒険, lit.: Bakuretsu Kuizu Ma-Kyū Dai-Bōken), is Namco's first quiz arcade game, released in 1992 and running on their then-new NA-1 hardware (a Motorola 68000, running at 12.52825 MHz); it is based on Capcom's earlier quiz games of Adventure Quiz Capcom World (1989), Adventure Quiz Hatena? Hatena? no Dai-Bōken (1990), Quiz Tonosama no Yabō (1991), and Quiz & Dragons (USA, 1992). It was also the first game from the company since Toy Pop back in 1986 that did not use a Yamaha YM-2151 FM sound chip for songs (instead, it used one of Namco's then-new NA custom sound chips for everything), and the first one where knowledge of all three Japanese scripts (Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana) is essential if you want to succeed in it.

The players must help a soldier named Scott and a Mr. T lookalike named Stanley get back the three jewels of a crown that has been stolen by "Yaminotsume Kyō" (written in Kanji and Hiragana as "闇の爪教") by using four buttons to answer three-script Japanese questions of various categories; you will have a preset amount of time to answer each question in, and if you either fail to respond or answer it incorrectly, your character will lose a "life-heart", as their current situations at the bottom of the screen worsen. However, when you answer a question correctly, the amount of remaining time (multiplied by 10) will be added to your score as your character's current situations improve - and if you can answer enough questions correctly, you may score enough points to earn your character an extra "life-heart".
