Bari Bari Densetsu (バリバリ伝説? lit. Bari Bari Legend) is a motorcycle racing game developed and published in Japan by Taito for the PC Engine in 1989. It uses the behind-the-driver perspective popularized by Sega's sprite-scaling Arcade games like Hang-On and OutRun. It is based on the manga of the same name ("bari bari" is an onomatopoeia for the sound a motorcyle engine makes when starting) created by Shuichi Shigeno (the creator of Initial D.) which focuses on illegal street racing with tricked out motorbikes and the drama that surrounds it.

Gameplay[edit]

Rather than racing on public roads in Japan, the game offers sixteen famous motorcycle racetracks from across the world, though each is only known by their country of origin. Before each race, the player can configure their vehicle for different course conditions like heavy rain, and they can also switch the gear changing between manual and automatic.
