BFBC2 IslaInocentes.png

One of the few maps that contains naval combat, Isla Inocentes is a favourite of players looking to get the Sea Warfare pin and snipers.

Official Description: In this archipelago setting, there is limited room for manoeuvring vehicles. Whoever controls the tank has a chance to wreak havoc on the small houses dotted across the island.

Extended Description: U.S. Forces are desperate to open a supply route for an Armored Battle Group engaged in fighting further inland. A Russian Artillery base controls the area and counters any breakout actions launched. The base is well defended and has been successful in repelling previous attacks. Destruction of the base and control of the woodlands will allow U.S Amphibious Forces to land and open a second front, which is critical in their plan to liberate South America.

Rush[edit]

The Rush game mode for this map features a lot of sniping spots for the Americans, especially during the island stage. The Americans start out on a long peninsula. Although their assault will eventually travel up the peninsula, they must first secure the Island base for the main assault to begin. Across a considerable stretch of water is the Russians' island base.

To reach the island, the Americans have access to two UH-60 Blackhawks, five Personal Watercraft, two PBL, and a UAV.

Island[edit]

The island base is small and heavily defended. Many buildings are on the island, enabling the defenders to entrench themselves easily. The Blackhawk cannot destroy cover as effectively as the PBL's grenade launchers, so the players using the PBL should be trying to destroy the enemy's cover with it. PBLs are extremely easy targets when attacked from multiple directions, and are vulnerable to sniper fire.

To assist them, the defenders have access to multiple machine guns and TOW launchers, but they are extremely vulnerable to sniper fire and should be avoided.

For the attackers to make their landing, they must either use the UH-60s as squad spawn points, or use the Watcraft or the PBL to make their landings. Smoke cover will be instrumental in providing cover on the beaches.

Once the Island is taken, both attacking and defending players should be aware that the Attackers' spawn point becomes accessible to the defenders, giving them the option to steal vehicles if they are in the right spot at the right time.

Village[edit]

The Village is a simple waterfront village that slopes up near the rear of it. The Americans trade in their Blackhawks for a Bradley for this stage of the assault. It will travel up the peninsula's road to reach the village, though defenders should be aware of any remaining Blackhawks from the Island stage as well.

The Village provides fewer sniping options for the Russians, but as the Americans have secured the island, the Russians can expect lots of sniper fire from their former base. Defending players should use smoke grenades if the sniper fire becomes too much to handle.

The Island now spawns a few Personal Watercraft to provide the Americans access to the village from the island.

Similar to the Island, defending players should avoid using the stationary machine guns, as they will be easy targets for snipers.

Final Stand[edit]

The Russians' final stand is located at a large military base. There are multiple machine guns here that the defenders can use to great effect on the attacking team. The machine guns are protected by ballistics shields which stop sniper fire, but also by the large hill the attackers must traverse to reach the base. This limits sniper fire considerably but does not eliminate it entirely.

The skies now turn against the Americans, as the Russians now have a Mi-24 Hind to assist them. One of the rarest helicopters found in multiplayer, the Hind will completely negate the use of the Americans' UAV station. Two people can use the Hind to fly right over to the Americans' new spawn point at the Village and kill the UAV operator with a burst or two from the Hind's chaingun.

The Bradley is going to remain a thorn in the defenders' side for the rest of the map, so engineers should be sure to use rockets and mines to keep it off the battlefield. Defenders should also expect flank attacks from the sides, as many of the fences provide excellent concealment for the attackers.

Squad Deathmatch[edit]

Outcomes[edit]

At the end of the match, a short cutscene will play, depending on which side won. There is one cutscene for each side, but the dialogue that follows varies greatly.

If the Americans win, rocket fire falls on the Russian coastal artillery battery. US tanks drive around the artillery, supported by Blackhawk helicopters.

If the Russians win, artillery fire from the battery fires upon the ships as a wing of Su-25s bomb the ships from above.
