The enemies in Bayonetta are the Angels of Paradiso. They are divided into three major ranks, known as spheres or spheres. The third sphere, for instance, is the category for the lower ranking and weaker angels.

Regular enemies[edit]

Third sphere[edit]

Affinity[edit]

Most common enemy and is the weakest enemy alongside the Dears.

Dears and Decorations[edit]

Dears are small angles that resembles a cherub's head with wings. The Decorations are bigger versions, comprising of an older face and works with the dears in attacking.

Enchant[edit]

Type of angel that takes the form of a wheel.

Applaud[edit]

Applauds are similar in appearance to the lowr ranking affinities, but are larger and more durable.

Ardor[edit]

The highest ranking angels in the third spehere, they are armed with a segmented shield and a serrated blade.

Irenic[edit]

An angel that has a shape of a car and attacks with bombs. Only encountered in one level

Second Sphere[edit]

Beloved[edit]

Giant sized angels armed with massive weapons.

Kinship[edit]

A type of angel that has the appearance of a floating ship.

Grace and Glory[edit]

Grace and Glory are two angels woith the same appearance but with different colours and abilities. They are mostly seen together.


Fearless[edit]

The fearless is a large dog or dragonlike angel of Paradiso. It is capable of hurling fireballs and can emit a screech that temproarily stuns the playable character.

Harmony[edit]

harmony is a type of large stingray-like angel.

First Sphere[edit]

Inspired[edit]

The Inspired are angels in the form of serpants that are capable of flying. They can attack by either spewing a fireball, or whipping its tail.

Braves[edit]

The braves appear as smaller versions of the beloved that usually come in three. They have the ability to combine into one bigger angel known as a cherub.

Glorious and Gracious[edit]

The glorious and Gracious are the upgraded versions of Glory and Grace, respectively. In higher difficulties, some of the Glories and Graces are replaced with them.

Joy[edit]

The Joys (also known as the Seraphim) are one of the highest ranking angels.

Golem[edit]

animated set of blocks. its default form is a globe, but can transform into many forms, each with different attacks but have their "core exposed".

Bosses[edit]

Auditio[edit]

The Auditios (otherwise known as the Cardinal Virtues) serve as bosses in the game. There are also inferior versions of them as well that are later fought in some levels after the Auditios are defeated. It seems that each Auditio represents each of the four elements.

Fortitudo, Cardinal Value of Courage[edit]

The first boss that is fought in Bayonetta. Resembles an upside-down head with two arms consisting of dragons and two talons for legs.

Temperantia, Cardinal Value of Temperance[edit]

The second boss seen in the game.

Iustitia, Cardinal Virtue of Justice[edit]

Sapientia, Cardinal Virtue of Prudence[edit]

Former Umbra witch who works with Father Balder.

Jubileus[edit]

The penultimate boss of the game.
