Beanotown Championship mode[edit]

Once your chosen character has appeared on the screen (the level of difficulty that you'd selected for the Championship shall determine their position on the starting grid), a set of three starting lights (the first two are orange, but the third is green) will drop down into view, from the top of the screen; once all three of them have lit up you must accelerate your chosen character's car to collect a maximum of six boost pickups as the starting lights disappear back up off the top of the screen. You shall now have to turn to the left to collect one of two weapon pickups and a maximum of six more boost pickups, but by the time you have accumulated six of the latter, you'll have to use at least one of your existing ones up before you can collect any more of them - and the weapon pickups cycle through the ones each character brings to the game (so you can't rely on collecting and firing the same ones for the same places):

Weapon Effect
Mousetraps Shall snap shut on the wheels of any car, including your own character's, who tries to drive over them and temporarily slow them down
Cow pie Will be fired from your chosen character's car towards any CPU-controlled ones who may be ahead of them and temporarily stun them
Tomato Shall be fired from your chosen character's car towards the CPU-controlled one immediately in front of them and temporarily stun them
Dodge shield Will create a shield around your chosen character's car, that protects them from the CPU-controlled racers' weapons for three seconds
Peas Will be fired from your chosen character's car towards any CPU-controlled ones who may be ahead of them and temporarily stun them
Rubbish Shall, once laid by your chosen character's car, flash faster and faster until it explodes or gets struck by any racer (including your own)
Bone Shall be fired from your chosen character's car, but bounces off the walls until it hits a target, so your character may be hit themselves
Bananas Shall cause any car (including your chosen character's) who tries to drive over them to go into a spin and temporarily slow them down
Fumes Shall, once they are emitted by your chosen character's car, slow down any racer who tries to drive through them (including your own)
Power drain Shall be fired from your chosen character's car at any CPU-controlled ones who may be ahead of them and suck the power from them

The positions of cow pies and tomatoes on the track are also shown on the overhead map of it in the bottom-left corner of the screen, and if a cow pie or tomato alert goes off at the bottom of the screen, it means you are about to be hit by one; however, you may avoid both by boosting away as fast as you can, weaving around the track, or if you have a dodge shield, activating it just before they hit you. Your chosen character is shown on the overhead map of the track as a blue circle while the CPU-controlled racers are shown as gray ones (except if one of them is in first position, in which case theirs will be orange, and if you are in third to tenth position that of the one immediately ahead of you will be green) - and your current position is displayed in the top-left corner of the screen above the currently-held weapon, along with those of the CPU-controlled racers who are immediately ahead of and behind you.

You will now have to turn to the left again to collect one of two more weapon pickups (if you have already fired the first one) and a maximum of two more boost pickups (which are all hidden behind four of fourteen haystacks); once you've done so, the speed of your chosen character's car shall immediately increase to 120mph as it power-jumps over a hill. Once it has landed, you will have to collect one of two more weapon pickups (if you have already fired the second one) and a maximum of three more boost pickups - and once you have done so you shall either have to turn to the left to collect a maximum of three more boost pickups and one of two more weapon pickups (if you've already fired the third one) or turn to the right to collect the same. You shall now have to collect a maximum of five more boost pickups and one of two more weapon pickups (if you've already fired the fourth one), drop down off a wall, and turn to the right to collect a maximum of six more boost pickups (along with one of two more weapon pickups, if you already fired the fifth one); once you have done so, you will have to turn to the left, turn to the right, then turn to the left again to collect a maximum of four more boost pickups and one of three more weapon pickups (if you've already fired the sixth one). You shall then have to turn to the right to collect a maximum of six more boost pickups - and once you have done so, you will either have to turn to the left to collect one of two more weapon pickups (if you already fired the seventh one), a maximum of four more boost pickups, one of two more weapon pickups (if you already fired the eighth one) and a maximum of four more boost pickups, or turn to the right to collect one of two more weapon pickups (if you have already fired the seventh one), then drive under the starting banner and complete a lap of the track. After completing four laps of the track the words "FINAL" and "LAP" will fly into view from the left and right sides of the screen, and once you have completed a fifth lap of the track the words "RACE" and "OVER" will fly into view from the left and right sides of the screen.

The characters' positions and times shall then be displayed on the screen in front of the winner (regardless of whether it was your chosen character or not) automatically taking a victory lap around the track while the camera is rotating clockwise around them; if you finished either first, second or third a revolving first-, second- or third-place trophy shall be displayed to the right of the results. Once you have clicked "CONTINUE" or pushed Enter, the Championship Standings will get displayed on the screen - and you will receive 10 points if you finished first, 8 if you finished second, 6 if you finished third, 5 if you finished fourth, 4 if you finished fifth, 3 if you finished sixth, 2 if you finished seventh and 1 if you finished eighth, ninth or tenth. Once you have clicked "CONTINUE" or pushed Enter a second time the game will proceed to The Bash Street Burn Up; however, if you click "DONE" on any Championship Standings screen (except that of Wild West Test as it is not present), the game will save your position and return to the Main Menu, on which the "BEANOTOWN CHAMPIONSHIP" option shall have been replaced by "CONTINUE CHAMPIONSHIP" and "NEW CHAMPIONSHIP". If you select "CONTINUE CHAMPIONSHIP", your positions on the races you have finished shall appear on their names with your Championship Points and position below them - but if you select "NEW CHAMPIONSHIP", the Bash Street Teacher will appear on the screen, with the text "STARTING A NEW CHAMPIONSHIP WILL ERASE THE EXISTING GAME! ARE YOU SURE?" and the options "YES" and "NO" to his right. If you decide to answer "no" the game will return to the Main Menu; however, if you answer "yes", the game will proceed to its character selection screen for a new Championship.

Single Race mode[edit]

Playing this track, or any other, in Single Race mode is the same as playing in Beanotown Championship mode, only you can set the number of laps for your one-off race from one to nine (however, the default number is three); also, when on the race results screen, the "CONTINUE" option is replaced by the "DONE" one from all except the last track's Championship Standings screens, and a "RACE AGAIN" one which restarts the race in its current setup.

Time Trial mode[edit]

Playing this track, or any other, in Time Trial mode is different to playing in the other two modes; once your chosen character appears on the screen, the camera shall be rotating clockwise around them. The "DONE" option from the first five tracks' Championship Standings screens and the "RACE AGAIN" one from Single Race mode's race results screens are again present (but for this mode, the latter starts the time trial), along with a "CHANGE CAR" one which allows you to change your character - and once you have clicked "RACE AGAIN", your chosen character will automatically drive up to the starting line as the words "ROLLING" and "START" fly into view from the left and right sides of the screen (the starting lights from the other two modes shall also appear at this point). You will now have to do as you would for the other two modes (only without collecting the weapon pickups, as they are not present, and neither are the CPU-controlled racers); once you've completed a lap of the track, your time for it will be displayed in the top-left corner of the screen, and the timer in its top-right corner will be reset. To return to this mode's menu for the track that you selected, you must pause and select "QUIT GAME" - and you can now either click "CHANGE CAR" to change your character by using the left and right keys to browse through the list of currently-unlocked characters and pushing Enter once you have come to the one you want, then click "RACE AGAIN" to start another time trial with your newly-selected chosen character and find out how fast you can complete a lap of the track you selected with them, or click "DONE" in order to return to the Main Menu.
