Once the screen has faded back in after Vanguard has come out the other side of either of the two holes in the second rock face, you will not be able to make it go back through either of them (given that two more invisible walls have been set up on both of their back sides); instead, you will have to move forward, then move to the right (or left) before continuing to move forward as you come to a Hyper Tank that is firing bullets at you. Once you have fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it, you will have to move to the right as you come to a Super Tank that's firing bullets at you - and once you have fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it, you will have to continue moving forward as you come up to a Green Artillery that's firing bullets at you. Once you have fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it, you will have to continue moving forward as a Jirai Car emerges from the ground and starts moving towards you (as mentioned on the previous page, you will receive 10000 points if it touches Vanguard and kills it, but you will obviously still lose a life in the process); once you've gone around it, you will have to continue moving forward, as you come to four Ochre Tanks that are shooting flames at you. Once you have fired enough bullets at or driven over each of these to kill them, you will have to move to the left, then continue moving downward, as you come to a fifth Ochre Tank that is shooting flames at you - and once you've fired enough bullets at or driven over it to kill it, you will have to continue moving downward as you come to another Green Artillery that is firing bullets at you. Once you've fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it, you will have to continue moving to the left, as you come to a sixth Ochre Tank and three Brown Tanks that are shooting flames at you; once you've fired enough bullets at or driven over both of them to kill them, you will have to continue moving forward as two enormous flames emerge from the wall upon the left side of the screen (which will kill Vanguard if they touch it). Once you have bypassed them, you will have to continue moving forward as you come to two Ochre Artilleries that are firing bullets at you - and once you've fired enough bullets at or driven over both of them to kill them, you will have to continue moving to the right as you come to another Super Tank that is firing bullets at you; once you have fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it, you will have to continue moving forward as you come to a third Green Artillery that is firing bullets at you. Once you've fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it, you have to move back downward, then move to the right, as you'll come up to three more Super Tanks that are firing bullets at you - and once you have fired a bullet at or driven over each of them to kill them, you will have to choose either the northern or eastern path. If you chose the northern path, you will have to continue moving forward, then choose either the western or second eastern path; if you chose the western path, you will have to move to the left, you will have to continue moving forward, as you come to a third Ochre Artillery that is firing bullets at you. Once you have fired enough bullets at or driven over it to kill it, you will have to move to the right as you come to a powerup box - and once you've fired a bullet at this to destroy it, it will leave an "Oil" powerup behind. Once you have collected it, it will refill a quarter of Vanguard's fuel meter; you'll then have to move to the right as you come to a fourth Ochre Artillery that is firing bullets at you. Once you have fired enough bullets at or driven over it to kill it, you will have to continue moving forward through a hole in the wall in front of you, then choose either the second western or second eastern path - and if you chose the second western path, you'll have to move to the left, then continue moving forward, as you come to two more enormous flames that are emerging from the wall on the left side of the screen. Once you've bypassed these, you will have to continue moving to the right as you come to a fourth Brown Tank that is shooting flames at you; once you have fired a bullet at or driven over this one to kill it, you'll have to continue moving downward, then move to the right, then continue moving forward, then move to the right again, then continue moving downward again, then move to the right again, and then continue moving forward once again, as you come to a sixth Super Tank that's firing bullets at you. Once you have fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it, you will have to move to the left, as you come to a fifth Ochre Artillery that is firing bullets at you - and once you've fired enough bullets at or driven over it to kill it, you'll have to move back to the right, and continue moving forward as you come to four more Ochre Tanks that are shooting flames at you. Once you've fired off enough bullets at or driven over each of these, to kill them, you will have to move to the left, then continue moving forward through a second hole in the wall as the screen fades out to black (but as with the end of that previous mission, that song that you are still hearing from the Yamaha YM-2151 will still continue, and Vanguard's fuel meter will still not be refilled).
If, however, you chose that eastern path, you will have to move to the right, then continue moving forward, as you come to a fourth Green Artillery that is firing bullets at you; once you have fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it, you will have to continue moving to the right as you come to two more Super Tanks that are firing bullets at you. Once you've fired a bullet at or driven over both of them to kill them, you'll have to choose either the second northern or different second eastern path - and if you chose that second northern path, you will have to continue moving forward, then choose either the different second western or third eastern path. If you chose the different second western path, you will have to move to the left, then continue moving forward, as you come up to a fifth Green Artillery that is firing bullets at you; once you have fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it, you will have to continue moving forward, then move to the left, then continue moving forward again, as you come up to different third Ochre Artillery that is firing bullets at you. Once you have fired enough bullets at or driven over this one to kill it, you'll have to continue moving forward through a different hole in the wall in front of you then continue moving forward, as you come to two more Green Artilleries that are firing bullets at you - and once you have fired a bullet at or driven over both of them to kill them, you will have to continue moving forward, then move to the left, as you come to a second powerup box. Once you have fired a bullet at it to destroy it, it will leave another "Oil" powerup behind; once you have collected this, it will restore another quarter of Vanguard's fuel meter. You will then have to move to the left as you come up to a different fourth Ochre Artillery that's firing bullets at you - and once you have fired enough bullets at or driven over it to kill it, you will have to continue moving downward, as you come up to a different fifth Ochre Artillery that is firing bullets at you. Once you have fired enough bullets at or driven over it to kill it, you will have to move to the left, until you come to the point you arrived at after passing through the aforementioned first hole in the wall; this means that the "second eastern path" is what you have just done reversed. However, if you chose the different second eastern path, you will have to have to move to the right as you come to two more powerup boxes; once you have fired a bullet at both of them to destroy them, they will leave a different second "Oil", and a "Full Oil" powerup behind. Once you have collected them both, they'll refill a different second quarter of Vanguard's fuel meter and add a sixteenth square to it (it will now be at its maximum size) - and you will then have to continue moving forward as you come up to different fifth Green Artillery that is firing bullets at you. Once you have fired a bullet at or driven over this one to kill it, you will have to move back downward, then move to the right, as you come to two more Super Tanks that are firing bullets at you; once you've fired off bullet at or driven over both of these two to kill them, you will have to continue moving forward, then move to the left, then continue moving forward again as you come to a seventh Ochre Tank and two more Brown Tanks that are shooting flames at you. Once you have fired enough bullet at or driven over each of them to kill them, you will have to move to the left as you come to a fourth powerup box - and once you have fired a bullet at this one to destroy it, it will leave a third "Oil" powerup behind. Once you have collected it, it will refill a third quarter of Vanguard's fuel meter; you'll then have to continue moving forward, as you come to two more Brown Tanks that are shooting flames at you. Once you have fired a bullet at or driven over both of these, to kill them, you will have to move to the left, as you come up to two more Green Artilleries, that are firing bullets at you - and once you've fired a bullet at or driven over both of these to kill them, you'll have to continue moving forward through a different second hole in the wall in front of you, as that screen fades out to black (but again, the song you're still hearing from the Yamaha YM-2151 will still continue, and Vanguard's fuel meter still won't be refilled, so you shouldn't take too long).
