Modern Stages[edit]
The next four stages take place in the modern era. Even though you're no longer in the middle of battle, there's still a war going on in the streets between crime and justice. The object that you must collect throughout each stage are none other than bags of money. All but one stage will test your searching abilities.
 The cops in this era are so focused on catching criminals, that they will frequently fall prey to the traps you dig in the ground. When they are buried, they are likely to give up some of the useful items they use to fight crime. |
 The mobsters that are running around, trying to steal cash wherever they can, are a lot more cautious, and are less likely to fall in holes. They won't be so hesitant to catch you and take back their money, so keep your distance. |
Stage 13[edit]
The first stage of the modern era starts out rather slimple, but it gets considerably more complicated once you get closer to the exit. There are pretty much no branching path for you to choose from. Simply follow the passage to the top from the start, and safely make your way to the warp. Once on the other side, walk along the south border, and up along the right hand side until you can choose to go up or down. Go up, avoiding the criminal nearby. Be sure to stand in the red zone indicated on the map to collect bombs. Because your view to the south is diminished, don't step on the next warp until you've seen a cop walk up to the other side, and then turn around. Once you are over, carefully deal with the same cop. You have two choices at this point. You can brave the situation and dig out a lot of holes while revealing the money bags hidden in the wall, or you can use the bombs to blow up the enemy spawn panels to prevent them from giving you any more trouble. The second technique is safer, although you'll probably need to return and stock on more bombs in the process. Better to stay alive than to die and have to repeat the stage. Be sure to collect two bags of money from all three walls that lead up to the exit.
Stage 14[edit]
In some ways, this stage is easier than the last, and in other ways it is more difficult. it is easier because you don't have to reveal as many hidden money bags, but it is more dangerous because you will find yourself in more wide open areas where enemies can attack you from any direction. Start by walking along the left side of the stage, collecting all the money bags that you find. Then make your way to the right and over to the springboard. Hop right, then up twice to avoid falling in the holes on the other side. Once you land, it is best to head right first, and up to the top so that you can then descend down the right side of the stage to collect the four money bags near the bottom. On your way back up, stop at the red zones indicated on the map to collect some bombs. Then work your way back to the left, and up and around the wall so that you can get closer to the exit. You will need to bomb the area directly in front of the exit to reveal three money bags so that you can leave the stage.
Stage 15[edit]
Other than having a slightly confusing layout, this stage is not too difficult. There are no hidden money bags to find. Start by collecting the two nearby money bags, and then cross the bridge to the right. Stick to the lower path and walk to the lower right corner, and then up the right side, collecting any bags that you can conveniently reach. Cross the bridge to the top, and walk along the north wall, collecting more money bags as you proceed, but do not walk down the left side of the stage, as there is nothing more for you to collect here. Instead, return to the very first bridge that you crossed near the starting point. Use the springboard near the center of the stage to hop to the right, into a warp. When you arrive on the other side, collect the bags and cross the bridge. Follow the path you find yourself on to one more warp on the left, and ultimately to the exit.
Stage 16[edit]
This stage is, by far, the most difficult stage you will have encountered thus far. The southern portion where you begin, and where you must do much of your exploring, is wide open and covered with enemies. From the start, make it your priority to cross over to the right side of the stage where you can collect some bombs. On this stage you will want to use the bombs to systematically destroy enemy panels. If you don't, they will easily overwhelm you and make completing this stage incredibly difficult. There are five panels that you can knock out before you even have to worry about blowing any blocks up. Once you have reduced the enemy force, you can begin to search upward. There are more bomb-providing blocks on the left side of the stage above where you began. You can blow up the bombs above it, and then to the right to gain access to the couple of money bags up there. Then you must concentrate on blowing up the large collection of blocks that extend from the center of the stage. There are money bags hidden in the extreme ends of these alleys, so don't miss any blocks. Once you have collected them all, start destroying the blocks to the right that stand between you and the exit in the upper right hand corner.
