Once the background has reappeared in front of Hiromi, two Zako-035 (the forward-facing versions for the Zako-011), will come bouncing towards you as a Zako-027 comes flying down towards you while firing projectiles at you; once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, four Zako-033 will drop down on you from the top of the screen as you approach them. Once you have fired off enough shots at each of them to kill them, a Zako-005 will come hovering towards you while firing projectiles at you as another Zako-027 comes flying down towards you while firing projectiles at you - and once you have fired a shot at both of them, to kill them, eight more Zako-033 will drop down on you on the left and right sides of the screen as you approach them. Once you have fired enough shots at each of them, to kill them, a third Zako-027 will come flying down towards you while firing projectiles at you as three Zako-010 come bouncing towards you; once you have fired a shot at each of these to kill them, another Zako-005 will come hovering towards you while firing projectiles at you as two more Zako-010 come bouncing towards you. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, six more Zako-033 will drop down on you on the left and right sides of the screen as you approach them, and a fourth Zako-027 comes flying down towards you while firing projectiles at you - and once you have fired enough shots at each of them, to kill them, two more Zako-010 will come bouncing towards you as a fifth Zako-027 comes flying down towards you, while firing projectiles at you. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, a third Zako-005 will hover towards you while firing projectiles at you (as a sixth Zako-027 flies down towards you while firing projectiles at you); once you've fired a shot at both of these, to kill them, an eighth Zako-010 will bounce towards you as a seventh Zako-027 flies down towards you while firing projectiles at you. Once you have fired a shot at both of these, to kill them, ten more Zako-033 will drop down on you on the left and right sides of the screen as you approach them - and once you have fired enough shots at all of these, to kill them, nine more Zako-010 will come bouncing towards you as eight more Zako-027 come flying down towards you while firing projectiles at you. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, four more Zako-027 will come flying down towards you while firing projectiles at you; once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, two more Zako-033 will drop down on you on the left and right sides of the screen, as you approach them. Once you've fired enough shots at both of these, to kill them, you will come to a Zako-026 which is firing six projectiles into the air at you - and once you've fired enough shots at this one to kill it, a fourth Zako-005 will come hovering towards you while firing projectiles at you as two groups of ten Zako-022 hover into view upon the left and right sides of the screen. Once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them you'll come to another Zako-026 which is firing six projectiles into the air at you; once you have fired enough shots at it to kill it, you'll come to a jump zone with a lamp-post with a "C" powerup on its left side and an "L" powerup on its right side in front of it. Once you have steered onto the jump zone and been catapulted past the lamp-post, collecting the powerup of your choice in the process, five more Zako-033 will drop down on you as you approach them in the centre of the screen - and once you have fired enough shots at each of them to kill them ten more Zako-033 will drop down on you on the left and right sides of the screen, as you approach them. Once you've fired enough shots at each of them to kill them, two more Zako-035 will bounce towards you as you come up to two more Zako-026 that are firing six projectiles into the air at you; once you fire off enough shots at each of them, to kill them, you'll come to two more Zako-026 that are firing six projectiles into the air at you. Once you've fired enough shots at both of them, to kill them, two more Zako-035 will come bouncing towards you as you come to two more Zako-026 that are firing six projectiles into the air at you - and once you've fired enough shots at each of them, to kill them, you will come to a second jump zone with a second lamp-post with an "H" powerup on its left side and an "M" powerup on its right side. Once you steer onto the jump zone, and get catapulted past the lamp-post (collecting the powerup of your choice in the process), two more Zako-022 will hover into view, on the left and right sides of the screen, as you come to twelve frozen tree trunks (on the left and right sides of the screen); once you have fired enough shots at each of the tree trunks to destroy them with a single shot at both of the Zako-022 to kill them, two more Zako-035 will come bouncing towards you as you come to a ninth Zako-026 that is firing six projectiles into the air at you. Once you've fired enough shots at each of them to kill them, you will come to a third jump zone with two rings containing a "W" powerup and a "C" powerup in front of it - and once you've steered onto the jump zone, and then been catapulted through the ring of your choice (collecting the powerup it contained in the process), you'll come up to four more frozen tree trunks, in the centre of the screen, as two more Zako-005 come hovering towards you while firing projectiles at you. Once you've fired enough shots at each of thsee tree trunks to destroy them and a single shot at both of the Zako-005 to kill them, two more Zako-022 will hover into view on the left and right sides of the screen, as you come to three more frozen tree trunks in the centre of the screen; once you have fired enough shots at each of the tree trunks to destroy them, with a single shot at both of the Zako-022 to kill them, two more Zako-005 will hover towards you while firing projectiles at you as you come to two more Zako-026 that are firing six projectiles into the air at you. Once you fire enough shots at each of these to kill them, a ninth Zako-005 will hover towards you while firing projectiles at you as you come up to a twelfth Zako-026 that is firing six projectiles into the air at you - and once you fire enough shots at both of them to kill them two more Zako-035 will come bouncing towards you, as six more Zako-027 come flying down towards you while firing projectiles at you. Once you fire one shot at each of them to kill them, an eleventh Zako-035 will bounce towards you, as you'll come to a thirteenth Zako-026 that is firing six projectiles into the air at you; once you've fired enough shots at both of them to kill them, two more Zako-027 will come flying down towards you while firing projectiles at you. Once you have fired a shot at both of these, to kill them, you will come to a fourteenth Zako-026 that is firing six projectiles into the air at you - and once you have fired enough shots at it to kill it, six more Zako-027 will fly down towards you while firing projectiles at you. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, you will come to an archway in the centre of the screen; once you've fired a missile at it to destroy its top, you will come to thirty-five more frozen tree trunks on the left and right sides of the screen as a thirty-fourth Zako-027 flies down towards you while firing projectiles at you. Once you've fired enough shots at each of the tree trunks to destroy them and a single shot at the Zako-027 to kill it two more Zako-035 will come bouncing towards you as you come to another archway in the centre of the screen - and once you have fired one shot at both of the Zako-035 to kill them and a missile at the archway to destroy its top, a thirty-fifth Zako-027 will come flying down towards you while firing projectiles at you. Once you have fired a shot at it to kill it you will come to two more archways on the left and right sides of the screen; once you have fired a missile at both of them to destroy their tops two more Zako-027 will come flying down towards you while firing projectiles at you. Once you have fired a shot at both of them to kill them, you will come up to a fifth archway in the centre of the screen - and once you have fired a missile at it to destroy its top a fifteenth Zako-035 will come bouncing towards you as a thirty-sixth Zako-027 will come flying down towards you (while firing projectiles at you). Once you've fired a shot at both of them to kill them, five more Zako-005 will come hovering towards you, while firing projectiles at you; once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, a sixteenth Zako-035 will come bouncing towards you. Once you have fired a shot at it to kill it, the area's boss character will form up in front of you, and try to stay ahead of you while firing six projectiles at you from its head - and once you have fired a single shot at each of its body sections to blast them away and enough shots at its head section to defeat it, it will explode and Hiromi will move to the centre of the screen as the text "AREA 1 CLEARED" appears above her. You will then receive 10 bonus points for every tenth of a second you have remaining, and go on to the second area.
