Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2/The Gulag

Objectives

• Rescue prisoner #627.
• Follow Captain MacTravish into the Gulag.
• Sweep the cells for the prisoner.
• Plant the breaching charge.
• Escape the Gulag.

Walkthrough

After the cutscene, get out your sniper rifle and attack only the troops that are attacking you. Continue doing this, you should have no problems with it. After the helicopter has landed, swap weapons to the rifle then get out and follow Captain MacTravish, take cover with him and go where he goes, the only problem is that one building has enemies shooting through the windows, use a grenade or a grenade launcher then go into the building and get the first piece of intelligence.

Go down the first flight of stairs, but stay there and aim your sights down the next flight. A few enemies will come, kill them and get the one in the control room. Now rush towards the control room. Once you get there, you will have to search for the prisoner. Before you do, go round the control room and you will find the second piece of intelligence.

Go down the stairs and get out your sniper rifle, crouch and kill all the enemy troops around the area then continue onwards. Go down the stairs to the armoury and pick up a Riot Shield. Keep your back towards the wall and wait for the door to open, then rush forward and melee the enemy.

Unnecessary Roughness

Use a riot shield to beat down an enemy in Single Player or Special Ops.

You can get past most of the enemies next by running up to them and bashing them with the riot shield. As you continue onwards, make sure that you go into the first room to the right for the third piece of intelligence. After all the enemies are down, hold the 'Use' button to rappel down.

Turn on night-vision and continue onwards, you do not need a riot shield for this next bit, but it does help. First kill all of he enemies in the corridor, a grenade or the grenade launcher works well. Next you will come across an enemy behind some pipes, it is best to use your grenade launcher to blow up the gas tank next to him. Now, throw a grenade or a flashbang to stun both of the enemies underneath you and then kill them both. Finish off the enemies in the corridor and prepare to breach the wall.

Kill as many enemies you can, paying careful attention to the one on your left who tries to melee you. Now, stay in the first room killing all of the enemies that come in fro the door. When the enemies come from the second floor, go near one of the side walls and take out the enemies on one balcony then run to the opposite wall and do the same for the other balcony. After all the enemies in the first room are dead, approach the doorway and get out the grenade launcher, wait for the enemies with riot shields to appear and use the launcher, they should all die, leaving you with very little opposition left. Continue on to the hole in the ground. Follow your team around the sewer and breach the wall. Kill the enemy and watch the cutscene. Then turn around, grab the intelligence and go into the sideroom (a passageway to the left. Do not follow your team. Wait for a rope to appear and hold the 'Use' button to complete the mission.

Intelligence

• Before going down to the main jail, there will be a house to the right with some enemies in it, after killing the enemies, get the intelligence.
• After you get to the control room, walk around the left and you will see it.
• After where you pick up the Riot Shield, in the first room to the right.
• After the meeting with Captain Price, turn around and you will see it.
