CVAoS Map Clock Tower.png

When you arrive from the floating gardens, you will appear in the top-right corner of the tower.

The clock tower is mostly composed of small vertical rooms filled with gears, platforms, and spiky walls. When you first enter the Clock Tower, there is exactly one usable path, by following the exits from the rooms. There is also a threat from Medusa Heads, which are weak but can inflict stone status.

When you reach the first branch, the right-hand exit leads to the save point, while the left exit will bring you to the second encounter with Yoko. She explains that Graham is in a panic, and had retreated to the throne room. After the cutscene, continue along the path until the boss door.

Boss: Death[edit]

On the first phase, death uses the following attacks:

  • There will be a continuous appearance of small scythes that will fly towards you.
  • The scythe will start spinning quickly, and approach you.
  • Death will try hitting you with vertical beams, which are dodged simply by moving.

When you inflict enough damage on this scythe, Death will fight you himself, and use the following attacks:

  • Death will float to about your level, and make a charging attack with his double scythe. Either jump over him or duck the attack.
  • Death will throw the scythe at you. Duck under it.
  • Death will release the scythe, having it spin along the ceiling to the right. It will then come charging towards you on the ground - double jump over it.

Once Death is defeated, he will be pulled into the vortex, but the double scythe will still dangerous until it falls off the screen.

Continue left to collect the Scula soul, which allows you to walk underwater.

Exiting the tower[edit]

Instead of backtracking through the Floating Garden, it is easier and faster to go through the water. This path is located at the bottom of the already explored section, is blocked by only a collapsing floor, and is near the save point.

When you reach the bottom, you can optionally head to the left to collect a few items (which may be easier once you get giant bat), or continue to the right to reach both an exit to Castle Corridor or the teleporter.

The extra items, the Burtgang and the Pitch Black Suit, both require careful jumping and movement to reach. Burtgang is locates in a room containing swinging pendulums, with Medusa Heads approaching from the sides. The Pitch Black Suit is easier to reach, since all that's necessary is to avoid the spikes on the walls or ceilings.

While there is an exit to the Top Floor, it must be opened from the other side first.
