Reborn!, known in Japan as Katekyoo Hitman Reborn! (家庭教師ヒットマンリボーン! Katekyō Hittoman Ribōn!?), "Katekyō" being a portmanteau of Katei Kyōshi and translated as Home Tutor, is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Akira Amano. The plot revolves around the life of a young boy named Tsunayoshi Sawada, who finds out that he is next in line to become the boss of the most powerful Mafia organization called the Vongola Family. As such, the Vongola's most powerful hitman, a gun-toting infant named Reborn, is sent to "tutor" Tsuna on how to become a respectable boss.
The first game based on the series was released on March 29, 2007 (Katekyoo Hitman Reborn! DS: Shinuki Max! Vongola Carnival!!) and the last on July 22, 2010 (Flame Rumble XX), concluding the long line of games as the anime completed its run. Amano finished her work on the ending of the Reborn! manga series two years later in 2012, although main character Tsuna made an appearance as a playable character in Shonen Jump's cross-over fighting game J-Stars Victory Vs alongside Reborn in 2014 to represent the popular franchise.
