Sidequests

Throughout the game, certain sidequests are available upon your completion of areas in the game. You are only allowed to take one sidequest at a time, and upon completing it (or backing out on your promise), you get items that are either currently unavailable or exclusive to the sidequest involved. Check the Sidequests and Secrets section for more details.

Tess wants a Cockatrice feather from the Fiery Sands of Jadd.

Find the Cockatrice feather with Tess should appear on the menu in Jadd.

Zone 1

Gleamdrop: Hidden in a chest.

Gleamwell: Hidden by a cactus.

The Gleamwell is hidden by a cactus west of the starting point, along the southern route through the map. You shouldn't have to go far before you find it.

The Gleamdrop is contained in a chest not much further west of the Gleamwell. Once you find it, you can either continue forward to get a little more experience and some more items (1 or 2 more chests are just a little further west of here), or track back to the Gleamwell and get on to the next zone.

Zone 2

Gleamdrop: Hidden in a chest.

Gleamwell: Hidden by a cactus.

The chest hiding the Gleamdrop is east of the starting point, along the northern route across the map.

The cactus hiding the Gleamwell should be the first cactus you come across heading back (west) towards the starting point once you find the Gleamdrop. There are a few chests west of the starting point that may be worth getting before looking for the Gleamdrop and the Gleamwell. There are also a couple more chests east of the Gleamdrop.

Zone 3

Gleamdrop: Hidden by a plant.

Gleamwell: Hidden by a cactus.

The plant hiding the Gleamdrop should be in the northwest (at the western edge of the map).

The cactus hiding the Gleamwell is northeast of the starting point (at the eastern edge of the map).

Zone 4

Gleamdrop: Hidden by a plant.

Gleamwell: Hidden by a cactus.

The cactus hiding the Gleamwell is close to the starting point, off to the west. The plant hiding the Gleamdrop is northwest of the Gleamwell, just a short distance away.

Zone 5

Gleamdrop: Hidden by a plant.

Gleamwell: Hidden by a cactus.

The cactus hiding the Gleamwell is right at the starting point. There should be a group of 4 cactus, use the hammer to uncover the Gleamwell.

The plant hiding the Gleamdrop is off to the east (near the eastern edge of the map), in the center of a series of moving sand paths.

Zone 6

Gleamdrop: Hidden by a plant.

Gleamwell: Hidden by a cactus.

The plant hiding the Gleamdrop is just to the west of the starting point. If you knock the enemies around a bit with the hammer or flail they should clear out the plants in this confined area and uncover the Gleamdrop for you.

The cactus hiding the Gleamwell is near the far east edge of the map, along the northern route.

Zone 7

Gleamdrop: Eliminate all monsters.

Gleamwell: Due east of the starting point.

Grab the chests at the western end of the map (directly north and south of the starting point) and make sure to eliminate every monster in this area before moving east. The Gleamwell's location will be obvious right away, but to get the Gleamdrop you have to clear the zone of monsters.
