Assuming you enter from the right exit, as soon as you arrive you must deal with a cannon sentry on the ground. You don't need to rely on the floating platforms to get across to the left, you can just use the platform below. Watch out for the heat seeking missiles that launch from the platform. Similarly, you don't have to jump to the high platforms, you can walk through the orange background of the lower platform. You will need to use the next two floating platforms to reach the end of this section. Shoot the small bouncing enemy before jumping up through the platforms to reach the screen above.

On the next screen, jump up to the ledge above, and shoot the cannon. Then continue left, and when you reach another platform that launches heat seeking missiles, jump over to the first floating platform that moves up and down. Do not attempt to jump to the next platform on the left until the one you are standing on reaches its lowest point. If you jump too soon, you will hit your head on the top of the screen, and your jump will be too short and you will fall into the cavern below. If you do fall, you must head left or right to the exit and then try again. If you make the jump, continue to the left and jump up the platforms to reach the final section.

When you first arrive, you will see a cannon to the right, and a set of heat seeking missiles. Wait at the bottom for all of the heat seeking missiles to converge and slam into the floor. Then take out the cannon before jumping up to the ledge above and proceeding left. Take the lower route, but be sure to shoot out the cannons that you encounter as you make your way to the left. Jump up to, and over one last heat seeking missile launcher to reach the left exit.
