Stage 13[edit]

Once your ships have rematerialized at the bottom of the screen (back in their normal forms again) and the stage's introductory theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, a wormhole will open up at the top of the screen in the background as two Dodongadon and a Bakuto, as the latter of whom will be yielding an armour capsule, emerge from it, then fly up off the top of the screen, then fly back down into view in the foreground from the top of the screen and take their places at the top of the formation; another wormhole will then open up in the centre of the screen, as seven Garapon emerge from it then circle around while firing a hail of bullets down at you, before four of them take their places in the formation. The fifth, sixth and seventh ones will, however, break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you - and once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, a third wormhole will open up in the centre of the screen as seven more Garapon emerge from it and circle around while firing another hail of bullets down at you before four of them take their places in the formation. The twelfth, thirteenth and fourteenth ones will, again, break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you; once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, a fourth wormhole will open up in the centre of the screen as seven more Garapon emerge from it and circle around while firing a third hail of bullets down at you before four of them take their positions in the formation. The nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first ones will once again break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you - and once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, a fifth wormhole will open in the centre of the screen, as seven more Garapon emerge from it, and circle around while firing a fourth hail of bullets down at you, before four of them take their places in the formation. The twenty-sixth, twenty-seventh and twenty-eighth ones will, yet again, break away from the formation, then fly directly towards you; once you've fired a shot at each of these, to kill them, two more wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen, as fourteen Type 2 Jammers emerge from them and circle around while firing a fifth hail of bullets down at you, before eight of them take their places in the formation. The fifth, sixth, seventh, twelfth, thirteenth and fourteenth ones will for a fifth time break away from the formation and fly directly towards you - and once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, an eighth wormhole will open up in the centre of the screen as seven more Type 2 Jammers emerge from it and circle around while firing a sixth hail of bullets down at you, before four of them take their places in the formation. The nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first ones will, for a sixth time, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you; once you fire a shot at each of these to kill them, a ninth wormhole will open up in the centre of the screen, as seven more Type 2 Jammers emerge from it and circle around while firing a seventh hail of bullets at you, before four of them will take up their positions in the formation. The twenty-sixth, twenty-seventh and twenty-eighth ones will, for a seventh time, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you - and once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, all the remaining Cosmo Gangers in this formation (there was a total of fifty-nine to begin with, if you'll count the fifth, sixth, seventh, twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth, nineteenth, twentieth, twenty-first, twenty-sixth, twenty-seventh, and twenty-eighth Garapon and Type 2 Jammers, who decided to break away from it) will begin to attack your ships, as the stage's main theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151. Once you've fired a shot at the Bakuto to destroy his ship, he will speak out Acho! (アチョッ!) in the Japanese version or Oh, no! in the US version, and once you have fired another shot at him to kill him, he will speak out Maitta! (まいった!) in the Japanese version or I give up! in the US version as the armour capsule he was holding falls down onto the ship of the player who killed him; once you have fired five shots at both of the Dodongadon to kill them (the fourth one will turn them red), they will leave their heso behind, giving you the opportunity to shoot them before they burst. Once you have fired a single shot at all the remaining Garapon and Type 2 Jammers in the formation to kill them, the text "NICE CLEAR!" will appear on the screen, as the "stage clear" theme is heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 and your ships fly up off the top of the screen - and the screen will now fade out as the game proceeds onto its fourteenth stage.

Stage 14[edit]

Once the background has faded back in, your ships have flown back up into view from the bottom of the screen and the stage's introductory theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, two wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen, as nine Garapon and nine Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen while firing a hail of bullets at you then fly back into view from the left and right sides of the screen below your ships, before flying off the right and left sides of the screen, then again fly back into view from the right and left sides of the screen before taking their places in the formation; a third wormhole will then open in the centre of the screen, as twelve more Garapon emerge from it and circle around while firing another hail of bullets down at you, before eight of them take up their places in the formation. The fourteenth, fifteenth, twentieth, and twenty-first ones will, however, break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you - and once you have fired a shot at each of these to kill them, two more wormholes will then open up on the left and right sides of the screen, as eight more Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen while firing a third hail of bullets down at you, then fly back into view from the left and right sides of the screen below your ships, before flying off the right and left sides of the screen, then again flying back into view from the right and left sides of the screen before taking their places in the formation (you will also have to watch out for Containers appearing above you from this point). Four Dodongadon will then appear at the top of the screen and take their places at the top of the formation; all the remaining Cosmo Gangers in the formation (there was a total of forty-two to begin with, if you count the fourteenth, fifteenth, twentieth and twenty-first Garapon, who had decided to break away from it) will then begin to attack your ships as the stage's main theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151. Once you have fired five shots at each of the Dodongadon to kill them (the fourth one will, again, turn them red), they will leave their heso behind, again giving you the opportunity to shoot them before they burst - and once you have fired a single shot at all the remaining Garapon and Type 1 Jammers in the formation to kill them, the text of "NICE CLEAR!" will appear upon the screen as the "stage clear" theme is heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 and your ships fly up off the top of the screen. The game will now proceed to the fifteenth stage.

Stage 15[edit]

Once the background has faded back in, your ships have flown back up into view from the bottom of the screen and the stage's introductory theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, two wormholes will open up on the left side of the screen in the background, as twelve Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the left side of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left side of the screen, while circling around and firing a hail of bullets down at you, before eight of them take up their places in the formation; the fifth, sixth, eleventh, and twelfth ones will, however, break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you (you will also, again, have to watch out for Containers appearing above you at this point). Once you have fired a shot at all of these to kill them, two more wormholes will open on the right side of the screen (in the background) as twelve more Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the right side of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from that right side of the screen, while circling around and firing another hail of bullets down at you before eight of them take up their places in the formation - but the seventeenth, eighteenth, twenty-third and twenty-fourth ones will, again, break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you. Once you have fired out a shot at all of these, to kill them, two more wormholes will open up on the left side of the screen in the background as twelve Garapon emerge from them and fly off the left side of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left side of the screen, while circling around and firing a third hail of bullets down at you, before eight of them take their places in the formation; the fifth, sixth, eleventh, and twelfth ones will, once again, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you. Once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them, two more wormholes will open up on the right side of the screen (in the background) as twelve more Garapon emerge from them and fly off the right side of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from that right side of the screen, while circling around and firing a fourth hail of bullets down at you, before eight of them take up their places in the formation - but the seventeenth, eighteenth, twenty-third and twenty-fourth ones will, yet again, break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you. Once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them, four Mini UFOs and a Bakuto (the latter of whom will hold an armour capsule if the player who had won the initial one on the thirteenth stage died and the other player failed to catch it) will come flying down into view from the top of the screen and take their places at the top of the formation; all the remaining Cosmo Gangers in the formation (there was a total of fifty-two to begin with, if you can count the fifth, sixth, eleventh, twelfth, seventeenth, eighteenth, twenty-third and twenty-fourth Type 1 Jammers and Garapon, who had all decided to break away from it) will then begin to attack your ships as the stage's main theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151. Once you have fired a shot at the Bakuto to destroy his ship, he will speak out out Acho! (アチョッ!) in the Japanese version, or Oh, no! in the US version, and once you have fired off a second shot at him to kill him, he will speak out Maitta! (まいった!) in the Japanese version or I give up! in the US version (as the armour capsule he was yielding if the player who won the initial one on the thirteenth stage died and the other player failed to catch it falls down onto the ship of the player who killed him) - and once you've fired a single shot at all the remaining Type 1 Jammers and Garapon in the formation to kill them, and two shots at all four Mini UFOs in the formation to kill them, the text "NICE CLEAR!" will appear on the screen as the "stage clear" theme is heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 and your ships fly up off the top of the screen.

Stage 16[edit]

Once the background has faded back in, your ships have flown back up into view from the bottom of the screen and the stage's introductory theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, a wormhole will open up in the centre of the screen as six Mini UFOs emerge from it and take their places in the formation; a second wormhole will then open up upon the left side of the screen, as six Garapon emerge from it while firing a hail of bullets at you before taking their places in the formation. Two more wormholes will then open up in the centre of the screen as twelve more Garapon emerge from them while firing another hail of bullets down at you before taking their places in the formation - and a fifth wormhole will now open up on the right side of the screen as six more Garapon emerge from it while firing a third hail of bullets down at you before taking their places in the formation. Seven Cosmo Balloons will then appear above your ships; once you fire off two shots at each of them to destroy them, a sixth wormhole will open up at the top of the screen as four Armoured Cosmos emerge from it, and take their places at the top of the formation. All the remaining Cosmo Gangers in the formation (there was a total of thirty-four to begin with) will then begin to attack your ships as this stage's main theme begins to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 - and once you have fired five shots at each of the Armoured Cosmos to destroy their spacesuits (when they fire lasers down at your ships, they will speak out Rēzā! (レーザー!) in the Japanese version or just Here we go! in the US version), they will speak out Gomenne, gomenne! (ごめんね、 ごめんね!) in the Japanese version, or I'm so sorry! in the US version, as they run off the side of the screen they are furthest from, giving you the opportunity to shoot (and kill) them. Once you have fired two shots at all the remaining Mini UFOs in the formation to kill them and a single shot at all the remaining Garapon in the formation to kill them, two more wormholes will open up at the top of the screen (in the background) as fourteen Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the top of the screen, then fly back down into view in the foreground from the top of the screen while circling around and firing a fourth hail of bullets down at you; once you have fired a shot at each of these to kill them, before they fly away off the left and right sides of the screen, two more wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen in the background, as fourteen more Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view from those left and right sides of the screen while circling around and firing what is the fifth hail of bullets down at you, before taking their places in the second formation. Two more wormholes will then open up on the left and right sides of the screen in the background, as twelve more Garapon emerge from them then fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left and right sides of the screen while circling around and firing this sixth hail of bullets down at you before taking their places in the second formation - and two more wormholes will then open up at the top of the screen (in the background), as fourteen more Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the top of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the top of the screen while circling around and firing this seventh hail of bullets down at you before eight of them take up their places in the second formation. The thirty-third, thirty-fourth, thirty-fifth, fortieth, forty-first and forty-second ones will, however, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you; once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, two more wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen in the background as twelve more Garapon emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left and right sides of the screen while circling around and firing an eighth hail of bullets down at you before taking their places in the second formation. Two more wormholes will then open up at the top of the screen in the background, as fourteen more Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the top of the screen, then fly back into view (in the foreground) from the top of the screen, while circling around and firing a ninth hail of bullets down at you - and once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them before they fly away off the left and right sides of the screen, two more wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen (in the background) as fourteen more Type 1 Jammers emerge from them then fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back down into view in the foreground on the left and right sides of the screen, while circling around and firing a tenth hail of bullets at you, before taking their places in the second formation. Two more wormholes will then open up on the left and right sides of the screen in the background as twelve more Garapon emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left and right sides of the screen while circling around and firing an eleventh hail of bullets down at you before eight of them take their places in the second formation; the fifty-third, fifty-fourth, fifty-ninth, and sixtieth ones will, again, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you. Once you have fired a shot at each of these to kill them, two more wormholes will open up (in the background) as fourteen more Type 1 Jammers emerge from them then fly up off the top of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the top of the screen while circling around and firing a twelfth hail of bullets down at you - and once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them, before they fly away off the left and right sides of the screen, two more wormholes will open up upon the left and right sides of the screen (in the background) as twelve more Garapon emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from those left and right sides of the screen while circling around and firing the thirteenth hail of bullets at you before eight of them take positions in the second formation. The sixty-fifth, sixty-sixth, seventy-first and seventy-second ones will, once again, break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you - and once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, all the remaining Cosmo Gangers in the second formation (there was a total of ninety to start with, if you count the thirty-third, thirty-fourth, thirty-fifth, fortieth, forty-first and forty-second Type 1 Jammers along with the fifty-third, fifty-fourth, fifty-ninth, sixtieth, sixty-fifth, sixty-sixth, seventy-first and seventy-second Garapon, who had all decided to break away from it), will begin to attack your ships. Once you have fired a shot at all the remaining Cosmo Gangers in the second formation to kill them, the text of "NICE CLEAR!" will appear on the screen, as that "stage clear" theme is heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 and your ships fly up off the top of the screen; the game will then proceed to the seventeenth stage, which is shorter.

Stage 17[edit]

Once the background has faded back in, your ships have flown back up into view from the bottom of the screen and the stage's introductory theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, two wormholes will open up on the left side of the screen in the background as sixteen Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the left side of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from that right side of the screen, while circling around and firing a hail of bullets at you, before ten of them take their places in the formation; the eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth, and sixteenth ones will, however, break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you. Once you have fired a shot at each of these, to kill them, two more wormholes will open up on the right side of the screen in the background as twelve Garapon emerge from them and fly off the right side of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the right side of the screen while circling around and firing another hail of bullets at you before six of them take their position in the formation. The seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth ones will again break away from the formation and fly directly towards you - and once you have fired a shot at each of these to kill them, four more wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen in the background, as twelve more Garapon and twelve more Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left and right sides of the screen while circling around and firing a third hail of bullets down at you, before six of both types take their places in this formation. The nineteenth, twentieth, twenty-first, twenty-second, twenty-third, and twenty-fourth ones of both types will, once again, break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you; once you've fired a shot at each of these to kill them, two more wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen (in the background) as six Mini UFOs emerge from them then fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left and right sides of the screen while circling around and firing a fourth hail of bullets at you before taking their place in the formation. All remaining Cosmo Gangers in the formation (there was a total of fifty-eight to begin with, if you'll count the eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth, sixteenth, nineteenth, twentieth, twenty-first, twenty-second, twenty-third and twenty-fourth Type 1 Jammers, and also the seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth, nineteenth, twentieth, twenty-first, twenty-second, twenty-third and twenty-fourth Garapon, who had all decided to break away from it) will begin to attack your ships as the stage's main theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 - and once you have fired a single shot at all remaining Type 1 Jammers and Garapon in the formation to kill them and two shots at all six Mini UFOs in the formation to kill them, a Doragon will come flying into view from the left side of the screen with a Bakuto (who will be yielding an armour capsule if either player had won one on the thirteenth or fifteenth stage, then died and the other player failed to catch it) sitting on his head in his ship. Once you have fired a shot at each of the four sections of the Doragon's body to destroy them you will have to fire a shot at his head to kill him before he flies away off the right side of the screen (you can also do this to kill him instantly); once you fire a shot at that Bakuto to destroy his ship, he'll speak out Acho! (アチョッ!) in the Japanese version or Oh, no! in the US version, and once you've fired another shot at him to kill him, he'll speak out Maitta! (まいった!) in the Japanese version or I give up! in the US version (as the armour capsule he was yielding if either player had won one on the thirteenth or fifteenth stage, then died and the other player failed to catch it, falls down onto the ship of the player who killed him). The text of "NICE CLEAR!" will then appear upon the screen as the "stage clear" theme is heard from that Yamaha YM-2151, and those ships fly up off the top of the screen - and the game will then proceed onto the eighteenth stage.

Stage 18[edit]

Once the background has faded back in, your ships have flown back up into view from the bottom of the screen and the stage's introductory theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, an egg will appear above your ships; once you've fired a shot at it to break it open (if you leave it long enough, it will also break open automatically), fourteen Garapon and fourteen Type 1 Jammers will emerge from it as three Missile Pods appear up at the top of the screen. There is a total of thirty-one Cosmo Gangers, and they will all then begin to attack your ships (as this stage's main theme starts to be heard from that Yamaha YM-2151) - and once you have fired a shot at all fourteen Garapon and all fourteen Type 1 Jammers in the formation to kill them (and even though you can kill those Missile Pods by firing three shots at them, they will get resurrected a few seconds later), any Missile Pods that are currently on screen will immediately disappear and the text "NICE CLEAR!" will appear on the screen as the "stage clear" theme is heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 and your two ships fly up off the top of the screen. It is also worth noting that the technical name for the egg is a Tamagocchi, and it looks like this: CGTV Tamagocchi.png

Stage 19[edit]

Once the background has faded back in, your ships have flown back up into view from the bottom of the screen and the stage's introductory theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, two wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen in the background as eight Type 2 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, and fly back into view in the foreground on the left and right sides of the screen before taking their places in the formation; two Dodongadon will then appear at the top of the screen and take their places at the top of the formation. Two more wormholes will then open in the centre of the screen, as fourteen Garapon emerge from them, and fly off the left and right sides of the screen while firing a hail of bullets down at you, then flying back into view from the left and right sides of the screen below your ships before flying away off the right and left sides of the screen, and flying back into view from the right and left sides of the screen before taking their position in the formation - and a fifth wormhole will then open on that left side of the screen in the background, as six Type 1 Jammers emerge from it and fly off the left side of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left side of the screen and circle around while firing another hail of bullets down at you, before five of them take their places in the formation. The sixth one, however, will break away from the formation and fly directly towards you; once you have fired a shot at him to kill him a sixth wormhole will open up on the left side of the screen in the background as six more Type 1 Jammers emerge from it and fly off the left side of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from that left side of the screen and circle around while firing a third hail of bullets at you before five of them take their places in the formation. The twelfth one will, again, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you - and once you've fired a shot at him to kill him, two more wormholes will open up on the left side of the screen (in the background) as twelve more Garapon emerge from them and fly off the left side of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left side of the screen while circling around and firing a fourth hail of bullets down at you, before ten of them take up their places in the formation. The twenty-fifth and twenty-sixth ones will, once again, break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you; once you fire a shot at both of them to kill them, a ninth wormhole will open up on the right side of the screen in the background, as six more Type 1 Jammers emerge from it and fly off the right side of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the right side of the screen and circle around while firing a fifth hail of bullets at you before five of them take their place in the formation. The eighteenth one will, yet again, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you - and once you have fired a shot at him to kill him, a tenth wormhole will open on the right side of the screen (in the background) as six more Type 1 Jammers emerge from it and fly off the right side of the screen, then fly back into view from the right side of the screen while circling around and firing this sixth hail of bullets at you before five of them take their places in the formation. The twenty-fourth one will, yet again, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you; once you have fired a shot at him to kill him, two more wormholes will open up on the right side of the screen (in the background), as twelve more Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the right side of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from that right side of the screen while circling around and firing a seventh hail of bullets down at you, before ten of them take their places in the formation. The twenty-ninth and thirtieth ones will, for a fifth time, break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you - and once you've fired a shot at both of them to kill them, two more wormholes will open up in the centre of the screen as fourteen more Garapon emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen while firing this eighth hail of bullets down at you, then flying back into view from the left and right sides of the screen below your ships before flying away off those right and left sides of the screen, then flying back into view from the right and left sides of the screen before taking their places in the formation. A fifteenth wormhole will then open on the left side of the screen in the background as six more Type 1 Jammers emerge from it and fly off the left side of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left side of the screen while circling around and firing a ninth hail of bullets down at you before five of them take their places in the formation; the thirty-sixth one will, for a sixth time, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you. Once you have fired a shot at him to kill him, a sixteenth wormhole will open up on the left side of the screen (in the background) as six more Type 1 Jammers emerge from it and fly off the left side of the screen, then fly back into view (in the foreground) on the left side of the screen while circling around and firing a tenth hail of bullets at you before five of them take their places in the formation. The forty-second one will, for the seventh time, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you - and once you have fired a shot at him to kill him, two more wormholes will open up on the left side of the screen (in the background), as twelve more Garapon emerge from them and fly off the left side of the screen, then fly back into view on the left side of the screen while circling around and firing an eleventh hail of bullets down at you before ten of them take up their positions in the formation. The fifty-first and fifty-second ones will, for the eighth time, break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you; once you fire a shot at both of these to kill them, a nineteenth wormhole will open on the right side of the screen in the background as six more Type 1 Jammers emerge from it and fly off the right side of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the right side of the screen while circling around and firing a fourteenth hail of bullets down at you before five of them take their places in the formation. The forty-eighth one will, for the ninth time, break away from the formation, then fly directly towards you - and once you have fired a shot at him to kill him, a twentieth wormhole will open on the right side of the screen (in the background) as six more Type 1 Jammers emerge from it and fly off the right side of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground on the right side of the screen while circling around and firing a fifteenth hail of bullets at you before five of them take their places in the formation. The fifty-fourth one will, for a tenth time, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you; once you have fired a shot at him to kill him two more wormholes will open on the right side of the screen in the background as twelve more Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and fly away off the right side of the screen, then fly back into view (in the foreground) from the right side of the screen, while circling around and firing a sixteenth hail of bullets down at you, before ten of them take their places in the formation. The fifty-ninth and sixtieth ones will, for an eleventh time, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you - and once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, all the remaining Cosmo Gangers of this formation (there was a total of 134 to begin with, if you'll count the sixth, twelfth, eighteenth, twenty-fourth, twenty-ninth, thirtieth, thirty-sixth, forty-second, forty-eighth, fifty-fourth, fifty-ninth and sixtieth Type 1 Jammers and also the twenty-fifth, twenty-sixth, fifty-first and fifty-second Garapon, who had all decided to break away from it), will begin to attack your ships, as the stage's main theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151. Once you have fired off five shots at both of the Dodongadon to kill them (the fourth one will, once again, turn them red), they will leave their heso behind, once again giving you that opportunity to shoot them before they burst; once you fire a single shot at all the remaining Garapon and Jammers in the formation to kill them, the text of "NICE CLEAR!" will appear on the screen, as the "stage clear" theme is heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 and your ships fly up off the top of the screen. The background will then fade out as your game proceeds onto the twentieth stage, which is (like the 17th) shorter.

Stage 20[edit]

Once the background has faded back in, your ships have flown back up into view from the bottom of the screen and the stage's introductory theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, two wormholes will open in the centre of the screen, as eighteen Garapon emerge from them, then circle around while firing a hail of bullets down at you before fourteen of them take up their places in the formation; the fifteenth, sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth ones will, however, break away from the formation, then fly directly towards you. Once you fire a shot at each of these, to kill them, two more wormholes will open up in the centre of the screen, as fourteen Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and circle around while firing another hail of bullets down at you before eight of them take their places in the formation - but the ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, and fourteenth ones will, again, break away from the formation, then fly directly towards you. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, two more wormholes will open up in the centre of the screen, as fourteen more Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and circle around while firing a third hail of bullets at you before eight of them take up their positions in this formation; the twenty-third, twenty-fourth, twenty-fifth, twenty-sixth, twenty-seventh, and twenty-eighth ones will, once again, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you. Once you have fired off a shot at each of them to kill them, a seventh wormhole will open up at the top of the screen as six Mini UFOs emerge from it and take their places at the top of the formation - and two Missile Pods will then appear above your ships as all remaining Cosmo Gangers in the formation (there was the total of fifty-two of them to begin with, if you count the fifteenth, sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth Garapon, and those ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth, twenty-third, twenty-fourth, twenty-fifth, twenty-sixth, twenty-seventh and twenty-eighth Type 1 Jammers, who'd all decided to break away from it) will begin to attack your ships, as the stage's main theme starts to be heard from that Yamaha YM-2151. Once you fire a single shot at all the remaining Garapon and Type 1 Jammers in the formation to kill them, and two shots at all six of the Mini UFOs in the formation to kill them a Doragon will come flying into view from the left side of the screen; once you have fired off a shot at each of the four sections of his body to destroy them you will have to fire a shot at his head to kill him before he flies away off the right side of the screen (again, you can also do this to kill him instantly); the text "NICE CLEAR!" will then appear as the "stage clear" theme is heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 and both players' bonus multipliers will then (for the third time in the game) get reset back to 1, as their ships fly up off the top of the screen (you will also notice that if either of them still have an armour capsule, that they had won upon the thirteenth or fifteenth stage, they will immediately lose it for the third Challenging Stage, which will either have a "ballet" or "medieval" theme to it - and if you should end up with the latter, the five Jammers will move faster). The ships will also again undergo a transformation to look like the lightguns of the original "Cosmo Gang" redemption game on which the stage is based.
