Stage 5[edit]

Once your ships have rematerialized at the bottom of the screen (back in their normal forms again) and the stage's introductory theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, two wormholes will open up at the top of the screen in the background as ten Garapon emerge from them and fly off the top of the screen, then fly back down into view in the foreground from the top of the screen and circle around while firing a hail of bullets down at you, before eight of them take their places in the formation; the ninth and tenth ones, however, will break away from the formation and fly directly towards you. Once you've fired a shot at both of them to kill them, ten more Garapon will come flying into view from the right side of the screen and circle around while firing another hail of bullets down at you, before eight of them take their places in the formation - but the nineteenth and twentieth ones will, again, break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you. Once you have fired a shot at both of these to kill them, twelve Jammers will come flying down into view from the top of the screen and circle around while firing a third hail of bullets down at you, before eight of them take their places in the formation; but the ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth ones will, once again, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you. Once you fire a shot at each of them to kill them, twelve more Jammers will come flying into view from that left side of the screen, and circle around while firing a fourth hail of bullets down at you before eight of them take their places in the formation - but the twenty-first, twenty-second, twenty-third and twenty-fourth ones will, yet again, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you. Once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them, a Bakuto (who is yielding an armour capsule) will appear at the top of the screen and take his place at the top of the formation; all the remaining Cosmo Gangers in the formation (there was a total of forty-five to begin with if you count the ninth, tenth, nineteenth and twentieth Garapon and the ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth, twenty-first, twenty-second, twenty-third and twenty-fourth Jammers who had all decided to break away from it) will begin to attack your ships as the stage's main theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151. Once you've fired a shot at the Bakuto to destroy his ship, he will speak out Acho! (アチョッ!) in the Japanese version, or Oh, no! in the US version, and once you've fired a second shot at him to kill him, he will speak out Maitta! (まいった!) in the Japanese version or I give up! in the US version, as the armour capsule he was yielding falls down onto the ship of the player who killed him - and once you have fired a shot at all the other remaining Cosmo Gangers in the formation to kill them, the text "NICE CLEAR!" will appear on the screen, as the "stage clear" theme is heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 and your ships fly up off the top of the screen. The background will now fade out as the game proceeds onto the sixth stage.

Stage 6[edit]

Once the background has faded back in, your ships have flown back up into view from the bottom of the screen and the stage's introductory theme starts to be heard out from the Yamaha YM-2151, a wormhole will open up on the left side of the screen in the background, as sixteen Mini UFOs emerge from it and fly off the left side of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from that left side of the screen; once you have fired two shots at each of them to kill them, before they all fly away off that right side of the screen, two more wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen in the background as six more Mini UFOs emerge from them, and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left and right sides of the screen while firing a hail of bullets down at you, before taking their places in the formation. A fourth wormhole will then open up on the right side of the screen in the background as sixteen more Mini UFOs emerge from it and fly off the right side of the screen then fly back into view in the foreground from the right side of the screen - and once you have fired two shots at each of them to kill them before they fly away off the left side of the screen, two more wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen (in the background) as six more Mini UFOs emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left and right sides of the screen (while firing another hail of bullets down at you) before they take their places in the formation. Two more wormholes will then open up on the left and right sides of the screen in the background as six more Mini UFOs emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left and right sides of the screen while firing a fourth hail of bullets down at you before taking their places in the formation; two more wormholes will then open up on the left and right sides of the screen (in the background) as four more Mini UFOs emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground on the left and right sides of the screen while firing a fifth hail of bullets down at you, before taking their places in the formation - and all the remaining Cosmo Gangers in this formation (there was a total of fifty-two to begin with, and they are all of the same type) will then begin to attack your ships, as the stage's main theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151. Once you fire off two shots at all the remaining Mini UFOs to kill them the text "NICE CLEAR!" will appear on the screen as the "stage clear" theme is heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 and your ships fly up off the top of the screen; the background will then fade out for what is the seventh time, as the game proceeds onto the seventh stage.

Stage 7[edit]

Once the background has faded back in, your ships have flown back up into view from the bottom of the screen and the stage's introductory theme starts to be heard out from the Yamaha YM-2151, two wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen in the background as eighteen Jammers emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left and right sides of the screen and circle around while firing a hail of bullets down at you; once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them before they fly away off the right and left sides of the screen, two more wormholes will open on the left and right sides of the screen (in the background) as eight more Jammers emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view (in the foreground) from the left and right sides of the screen, while circling around and firing another hail of bullets down at you, before six of them take their places in that formation (the twenty-fifth and twenty-sixth ones will, however, break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you). Once you've fired a shot at both of them to kill them, six Mini UFOs will come flying into view from the left side of the screen - and once you have fired two shots at each of these to kill them, before they fly away off the right side of the screen, two more wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen (in the background) as ten more Jammers emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left and right sides of the screen and circle around while firing a third hail of bullets down at you before eight of them take their places in the formation. The thirty-fifth and thirty-sixth ones will, again, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you; once you fire a shot at both of these to kill them, a seventh wormhole will open up in the centre of the screen in the background, as twelve Type 2 Jammers emerge from it and fly up off the top of the screen, then fly back down into view in the foreground from the top of the screen and circle around while firing a fourth hail of bullets down at you before they all take up their places in the formation. An eighth wormhole will then open up in the centre of the screen (in the background) as six Garapon and six more Type 1 Jammers emerge from it and fly off the top of the screen, then fly back down into view in the foreground from the top of the screen and circle around (while firing a fifth hail of bullets at you) before they take their places in the formation - and a Bakuto, who will be holding an armour capsule if the player who won the initial one on the fifth stage died and the other player failed to catch it, will then appear at the top of the screen and take his place at the top of the formation. All the remaining Cosmo Gangers in this formation (there was a total of fifty-five to begin with if you count the twenty-fifth, twenty-sixth, thirty-fifth and thirty-sixth Jammers who decided to break away from it) will begin to attack your ship, as the stage's main theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151. Once you have fired a shot at that Bakuto to destroy his ship, he will speak out Acho! (アチョッ!) in the Japanese version or Oh, no! in the US version, and once you have fired another shot at him to kill him, he will speak out Maitta! (まいった!) in the Japanese version or I give up! in the US version (as the armour capsule he was yielding if the player who won the initial one on that fifth stage died and the other player failed to catch it falls down onto the ship of the player who killed him); once you've fired a shot at all the other remaining Cosmo Gangers in the formation to kill them (this is the first stage which is comprised of two formations), two more wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen (in the background) as twelve more Type 2 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground on the left and right sides of the screen while circling around and firing a sixth hail of bullets down at you, before eight of them take up their places for the formation. The seventeenth, eighteenth, twenty-third and twenty-fourth ones will, however, break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you - and once you have fired a shot at each of these to kill them, two more wormholes will open on the left and right sides of the screen (in the background), as twelve more Type 2 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left and right sides of the screen, while circling around and firing a seventh hail of bullets down at you, before eight of them take their places in the formation. The twenty-ninth, thirtieth, thirty-fifth and thirty-sixth ones will, again, break away from the second formation and fly directly towards you; once you have fired a shot at each of these to kill them, all the remaining Type 2 Jammers in this second formation (there was the total of twenty-four to begin with, if you count the nineteenth, twentieth, twenty-third, twenty-fourth, twenty-ninth, thirtieth, thirty-fifth and thirty-sixth ones who had decided to break away from it) will begin to attack your ships. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, the text "NICE CLEAR!" will appear on the screen as the "stage clear" theme is heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 and your ships fly up off the top of the screen. The background will then fade out for the eighth time, as the game proceeds onto the eighth stage - which will the first one to feature obstacles.

Stage 8[edit]

Once the background has faded back in, your ships have flown back up into view from the bottom of the screen and the stage's introductory theme starts to be heard out from the Yamaha YM-2151, three wormholes will open at the bottom of the screen as nine Type 2 Jammers, eight Type 1 Jammers, and ten Garapon emerge from them and take up their places in the formation; there is a total of twenty-seven Cosmo Gangers, and they will all then begin to attack your ships, as the stage's main theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 and two Cosmo Coins come flying into view from the left side of the screen while rotating on their X-axes (they take four hits to destroy but will not leave anything behind when you do so). Once you've fired a shot at all eight Type 1 Jammers, all nine Type 2 Jammers and all ten Garapon to kill them, two more wormholes will open up at the bottom of the screen as six more Type 2 Jammers, six more Type 1 Jammers, and six more Garapon emerge from them and take their places in the second formation - and there is a total of eighteen Cosmo Gangers, and they will all then begin to attack your ships. Once you have fired a shot at all six Type 2 Jammers, all six Type 1 Jammers, and all six Garapon to kill them, the Cosmo Coins will automatically disintegrate if they are still on the screen and that text "NICE CLEAR!" will appear on the screen, as that "stage clear" theme is heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 and your ships fly up off the top of the screen; next, the 9th stage.

Stage 9[edit]

Once the background has faded back in, your ships have flown back up into view from the bottom of the screen and the stage's introductory theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, a wormhole will open up in the centre of the screen as sixteen Type 1 Jammers emerge from it, and circle round while firing a hail of bullets down at you before twelve of them take their places in the formation; those thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth and sixteenth ones will, however, break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, another wormhole will open up in the centre of the screen as twelve Garapon emerge from it and circle around while firing another hail of bullets down at you before six of them take up their places in the formation - but those seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth ones will, again, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you. Once you have fired out a shot at each of these to kill them, a third wormhole will open up in the centre of the screen as eight more Garapon and eight more Type 1 Jammers emerge from it and circle around while firing a third hail of bullets down at you before taking their places in the formation; but the twenty-third and twenty-fourth Type 1 Jammers and nineteenth and twentieth Garapon will, once again, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you. Once you've fired a shot at each of these to kill them, a fourth wormhole will open up in the centre of the screen, as six more Garapon and six more Type 1 Jammers emerge from it and circle around while firing a fourth hail of bullets down at you, before four of both of them take their places in the formation - but those twenty-ninth and thirtieth Type 1 Jammers, and those twenty-fifth and twenty-sixth Garapon will, yet again, break away from the formation, and fly directly towards you. Once you have fired a shot at each of these to kill them, two Armoured Cosmos and a Bakuto (the latter of whom will be holding an armour capsule if either player had won one on the fifth or seventh stage but died and the other player failed to catch it) will appear at the top of the screen and take their places at the top of the formation; all the remaining Cosmo Gangers in the formation (there was a total of fifty-nine to begin with if you count the thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth, sixteenth, twenty-third, twenty-fourth, twenty-ninth and thirtieth Type 1 Jammers and the seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth, nineteenth, twentieth, twenty-fifth, and twenty-sixth Garapon, who have all decided to break away from it) will begin to attack your ships, as the stage's main theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151. Once you fire off a shot at the Bakuto to destroy his ship, he will speak out Acho! (アチョッ!) in the Japanese version, or Oh, no! in the US version, and once you have fired another shot at him to kill him, he will speak out Maitta! (まいった!) in the Japanese version or I give up! in the US version as the armour capsule he was yielding if either of the players won one on the fifth or seventh stage, then died and the other player failed to catch it, falls down onto the ship of the player who killed him - and once you fire five shots at both of the Armoured Cosmos to destroy their spacesuits (when they fire lasers down at your ships, they will speak out Rēzā! (レーザー!) in the Japanese version, or Here we go! in the US version), they will speak out Gomenne, gomenne! (ごめんね、 ごめんね!) in the Japanese version or I'm so sorry! in the US version as they run off the side of the screen they are furthest from, giving you the opportunity to shoot (and kill) them. Once you have fired a shot at all the other remaining Cosmo Gangers in the formation to kill them, the text "NICE CLEAR!" will appear on the screen as that "stage clear" theme is heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, and your ships fly up off the top of the screen. Now it is onto the first double-figured stage.

Stage 10[edit]

Once the background has faded back in, your ships have flown back up into view from the bottom of the screen and the stage's introductory theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, a wormhole will open up in the centre of the screen, as sixteen Type 2 Jammers emerge from it and fire a hail of bullets at you, before taking their places in this formation; two more wormholes will then open up on the left and right sides of the screen, as six Garapon and six more Type 2 Jammers emerge from them and circle around while firing a second hail of bullets at you before taking their places in the formation. A third wormhole will then open at the top of the screen as two Armoured Cosmos emerge from it, then take their places at the top of the formation - and all remaining Cosmo Gangers in the formation (there was a total of thirty to begin with) will begin to attack your ships as the stage's main theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151. Once you fire five shots at both of those Armoured Cosmos to destroy their spacesuits (when they fire lasers down at your ships, they will speak out Rēzā! (レーザー!) in the Japanese version, or Here we go! in the US version), they will speak out Gomenne, gomenne! (ごめんね、 ごめんね!) in the Japanese version, or I'm so sorry! in the US version as they run off the side of the screen they are furthest from (and again give you the opportunity to shoot and kill them); once you have fired a single shot at all the other remaining Cosmo Gangers in the formation to kill them, two more wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen (in the background) as fourteen more Type 2 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground (from the left and right sides of the screen) while circling around and firing this third hail of bullets at you before eight of them take up their places in the second formation. Those twenty-seventh, twenty-eighth, twenty-ninth, thirty-fourth, thirty-fifth and thirty-sixth ones will, however, break away from the second formation and fly directly towards you - and once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, two more wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen in the background as fourteen more Garapon emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground on the left and right sides of the screen while circling around and firing a fourth hail of bullets down at you before eight of them take up their places in the second formation. Also, the eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth ones will, again, break away from the second formation and fly directly towards you; once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, two more wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen in the background as twenty more Garapon emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground on the left and right sides of the screen while circling around and firing a fifth hail of bullets before eight of them take up their places in the second formation. The twenty-eighth, twenty-ninth, thirtieth, thirty-sixth, thirty-seventh and thirty-eighth ones will once again break away from the second formation, and fly directly towards you - and once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, all remaining Cosmo Gangers in the second formation (there was a total of forty-eight to begin with, if you count the twenty-seventh, twenty-eighth, twenty-ninth, thirty-fourth, thirty-fifth and thirty-sixth Type 2 Jammers and the eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, eighteenth, nineteenth, twentieth, twenty-eighth, twenty-ninth, thirtieth, thirty-sixth, thirty-seventh and thirty-eighth Garapon, who decided to break away from it), will begin to attack your ships. Once you have fired a shot at all of these to kill them, the text "NICE CLEAR!" will appear on the screen, as the "stage clear" theme is heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 and your two ships fly up off the top of the screen; the game will now proceed onward to the eleventh stage.

Stage 11[edit]

Once the background has faded back in, your ships have flown back up into view from the bottom of the screen and the stage's introductory theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, two wormholes will open up on the left side of the screen in the background as sixteen Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the left side of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left side of the screen, while circling around and firing a hail of bullets at you before twelve of them take up their positions in the formation; those thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth and sixteenth ones will, however, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, two more wormholes will open up on the right side of the screen (in the background), as sixteen more Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the right side of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the right side of the screen while circling around and firing another hail of bullets down at you before twelve of them take their places in the formation - but those twenty-ninth, thirtieth, thirty-first and thirty-second ones will, again, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you. Once you have fired off a shot at each of these to kill them, two more wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen in the background as twelve more Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground from the left and right sides of the screen, while circling around and firing a third hail of bullets, before eight of them take their places in the formation; the forty-first, forty-second, forty-third and forty-fourth ones will, once again, break away from the formation and fly directly towards you. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, two more wormholes will open up at the top of the screen in the background as six Mini UFOs emerge from them and fly off the top of the screen, then fly back down into view in the foreground from the top of the screen while circling around, and firing what is a fourth hail of bullets down at you before taking their places in the formation - and two more wormholes will then open up on the left and right sides of the screen (in the background) as two Armoured Cosmos emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen and fly back into view in the foreground on the left and right sides of the screen and take their places at the top of the formation. All remaining Cosmo Gangers in the formation (there was a total of fifty-two to begin with, if you'll count the thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth, sixteenth, twenty-ninth, thirtieth, thirty-first, thirty-second, forty-first, forty-second, forty-third, and forty-fourth Type 1 Jammers, who all decided to break away from it) will begin to attack your ships as the stage's main theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151; once you've fired five shots at both of the Armoured Cosmos to destroy their spacesuits (when they fire a laser down at your ships, they will speak out Rēzā! (レーザー!) in the Japanese version or Here we go! in the US version), they will speak out Gomenne, gomenne! (ごめんね、 ごめんね!) in the Japanese version or I'm so sorry! in the US version as they run off the side of the screen they are furthest from (and, once again, give you the opportunity to shoot and kill them). Once you have fired a shot at all the remaining Type 1 Jammers in the formation to kill them and two shots at all the remaining Mini UFOs in the formation to kill them, two more wormholes will open up on those left and right sides of the screen in the background as eight more Type 1 Jammers emerge from it and fly off the left and right sides of the screen then fly back into view in the foreground from the left and right sides of the screen while circling around and firing a fifth hail of bullets down at you before flying directly towards you - and once you've fired off a shot at each of these to kill them, a thirteenth wormhole will open up on the left side of the screen in the background, as a Bakuto (who will be yielding an armour capsule if either player won one on the fifth, seventh or ninth stage, then died, and the other player failed to catch it) emerges from it and flies off the left side of the screen before flying back into view in the foreground from the left side of the screen. Once you have fired a shot at him to destroy his ship, he will speak out Acho! (アチョッ!) in the Japanese version, or Oh, no! in the US version, and once you have fired another shot at him to kill him, he will speak out Maitta! (まいった!) in the Japanese version or I give up! in the US version as the armour capsule he was yielding if either player won one on the fifth, seventh or ninth stage but died and the other player failed to catch it falls down onto the ship of the player who killed him; two more wormholes will then open up on the left and right sides of the screen in the background as eight more Type 1 Jammers emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground on the left and right sides of the screen, while circling around and firing a sixth hail of bullets down at you before flying directly towards you. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them the text "NICE CLEAR!" will appear on the screen as the "stage clear" theme is heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 and your ships fly up off the top of the screen - and onto the twelfth stage.

Stage 12[edit]

Once the background has faded back in, your ships have flown back up into view from the bottom of the screen and the stage's introductory theme starts to be heard out from the Yamaha YM-2151, twenty-four Mini UFOs will come flying into view from the left side of the screen, and circle around; once you have fired two shots at each of them to kill them, before they fly away off the right side of the screen, a wormhole will open up in the centre of the screen as eight Garapon and sixteen Type 1 Jammers emerge from it, and take their places in the formation. Four Cosmo Balloons will then appear above your ships - and once you have fired two shots at each of them to destroy them (much like the Cosmo Coins on that eighth stage, they will not leave anything behind), two more wormholes will open up on the left and right sides of the screen (in the background) as six more Mini UFOs emerge from them and fly off the left and right sides of the screen, then fly back into view in the foreground (from the left and right sides of the screen) before taking their places in the formation. Three Armoured Cosmos will then appear at the top of the screen, then take their places at the top of this formation; all remaining Cosmo Gangers in the formation (there was a total of fifty-seven to begin with) will then begin to attack your ships, as the stage's main theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151. Once you have fired five shots at each of the Armoured Cosmos to destroy their spacesuits (when they fire a laser down at your ships, they will speak out Rēzā! (レーザー!) in the Japanese version or Here we go! in the US version) they will speak out Gomenne, gomenne! (ごめんね、 ごめんね!) in the Japanese version or I'm so sorry! in the US version as they run off the side of the screen they are furthest from and yet again give you the opportunity to shoot and kill them - and once you have fired one shot at all remaining Garapon and Type 1 Jammers in the formation to kill them, and two shots at all the remaining Mini UFOs in the formation to kill them, the text "NICE CLEAR!" will appear on the screen, as the "stage clear" theme is heard from the Yamaha YM-2151. Both players' bonus multipliers will then, for a second time in the game, be reset back to 1 as their ships fly up off the top of the screen (you will also notice that if either of them still have an armour capsule that they'd won on the fifth, seventh, ninth or eleventh stages, they'll immediately lose it for the second Challenging Stage, which will either have a randomly-generated "western" or "oriental" theme to it and again see the ships undergo a transformation to look like the lightguns from the original "Cosmo Gang" redemption game on which the stage is based).
